While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

I was hoping this would be good but it lacks basic necessities and has bugs everywhere. It definitely isn't finished and ready to use. You can't even color or highlight the text for example.
The collaboration doesn't seem to work either - and even if it did, from what I can gather, you can only collaborate on a note by note basis - and you have to share every single note you want to share one at a time. Kind of pointless, it would be much better if you could share a whole workspace or tag or something.
Lots and lots of bugs, it's kind of crazy how much just doesn't work.
In summary, I'll check back in the future and see if it's any better.
I've been using mem.ai since Nov 2022. I needed something to replace Evernote which had constant duplicate note issues, and bad search and organisation capabilities. Search was absolutely critical to me, and Evernote fell way short. So after seeing it reviewed on the YouTube channel Keep productive, I decided to sign up and try mem.ai.
Search was amazing, and the MemX capabilities were extremely impressive. MemX suggest notes in the sidebar which are similar, or relevant to the note that you're working on. This saves a lot of work trying to file notes in the correct place using hierarchical structures. A note can often belong in 5 places depending on the context, so MemX is great for this.
However, development of the app seems to have stalled as there is so much missing. There is no highlighting functionality, there is no scroll bar to move up and down long notes, tagging is imperfect. Now they have even removed the count of how many mems you have got in your account.
I have been so disappointed at the lack of further product development that I am thinking of cancelling my auto-renewal and moving to Notion. The main reasons I didn't choose Notion when I was evaluating what to use instead of Evernote was the fact that mem had tags, great search and MemX. But although those features are incredibly useful and fit my needs, I'm finding that the lack of basic features is sending me a signal that something behind the scenes in the company may be amiss.
I would not recommend anyone sign up to mem.ai right now until they have sorted out the basics such as highlighting, scroll bars, and fixing tags.
