The worst!!

The worst!!! They picked up my load on 11 Dec 2025 from Johannesburg, leaving for Wellington (WC). I left the same day, and I received some of my load on 20 Dec 2025. My work desk and a box were still missing. After going back and forth with them, I received only my desk on 2 January 2026 and not my box. Again, going back and forth with them, where the JHB said it's in CPT, and CPT said it's still in JHB. Already frustrated because nobody is giving me answers. Finally, after a month, they told me the box was missing after I repeatedly told the agent how important the stuff in the box was. In the box, daughter's diplomas, work documents, equipment, orders for customers, and my ingredients for the product I made. I've been trying to reach out to management, but never got a call back until the day they informed me that the box was "lost".
They sent me a claim form and can only compensate me R500. Apparently, they reached out to other people I shared a load with, and none of them has my box, so what happened? No answers!. Moving is already stressful, and now I have to face this. I wouldn't recommend anyone to make use of them. This is the first time I ever dealt with a moving company like this. Rather than search the internet for others, they really don't care about their customers, and they can't communicate professionally. They said they will reach out to me to solve the matter, but it's been weeks now, and I haven't heard back from them!!

So happy with their service

I would like to extend my thanks to Megashift Logistics, especially to Thamsanqa , and his office team in Durban, as well as Nkosi and his collection team, they were all so friendly and professional, the team in Gauteng were also sweet and also kept me updated, I like the fact that as a client you are always kept in the loop of the progress. When initially asking for a quote in August 2025, they were quick to respond and their prices are really very reasonable. From the quote, to the booking , collection and delivery, all the admin etc, is done so professionally, and timeously. No matter how many times I contacted them Thamasanqa was always so polite. All my belongings arrived in perfect condition in Gauteng. I would definitely use them again and I confidently recommend using Megashift. Thank you so much, and I wish you all the best going forward.

Complaint of unacceptable service from Mega Shift…

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service provided by Mega Shift during my recent furniture removal. The experience has been marked by significant negligence, poor communication, and unacceptable delays.

After entrusting Mega Shift with the responsibility of transporting my belongings, one of my boxes was misplaced in their warehouse. It has now been over almost 2 months, and despite numerous inquiries, there has been no meaningful progress in locating my property. What is even more troubling is the extremely poor communication I have received from the company. Despite repeated and urgent requests for follow-up information, Mega Shift has refused to provide any meaningful feedback or proactive communication regarding the ongoing search for my missing box.

Moreover, despite scheduled meetings at the warehouse, their team has failed to show up or when showing up for scheduled appointments they were not able to provide a coherent explanation for these ongoing issues. In an effort to recover my belongings, I personally conducted a search at Mega Shift’s Cape Town warehouse — an appointment that proved just as disappointing as the rest of this experience. After confirming a specific time with their manager, and being assured that a team would be available on-site to assist, I arrived with a friend as arranged. However, no Mega Shift team member was available to help us when we got there. We were told we would have to wait until they were done with other work — an estimated wait time of around an hour. This was particularly frustrating, as we had arranged this specific time due to tight schedules, and it had been clearly confirmed in advance by Mega Shift. As a result, we had no choice but to conduct the search entirely on our own, with no guidance, support, or assistance from the company — once again reflecting a complete lack of professionalism and accountability.

When I requested transparent documentation regarding the movement of my box, I was given no clear answers or updated records to review. The paperwork provided to track the movement of the box is sparse, inconsistent, and ultimately unhelpful, which only heightens my concern about how Mega Shift handles customers’ valuable and often irreplaceable belongings.

In light of the lack of documentation, I requested to view video footage to try to trace the box’s movement. To date, despite several follow-ups, this footage has not been shared with me. According to their manager, surveillance footage is typically deleted after seven days — which raises a serious red flag. I reported the missing box while the Mega Shift team was still on my property offloading. If this issue was raised in real-time, why would there even be a possibility of the relevant video evidence being deleted?

This alone raises a massive concern about the company’s internal practices and willingness to cooperate. I have also requested a thorough search of their Johannesburg warehouse, as it is the only other possible location where the box might be. Unsurprisingly, I have received no update or confirmation that this has been actioned.

Despite the clear signs of negligence in handling my personal items, Mega Shift has not taken ownership of the situation or demonstrated any accountability.

Mega Shift’s advertising, which claims they provide a reliable, professional service with highly trained staff and a commitment to customer care, does not reflect my experience. Their inability to follow through on their promises and take responsibility for their actions raises serious concerns about their business practices and the quality of service they offer.

I am currently seeking a fair and reasonable resolution to this matter, and I urge the company to act in good faith and resolve this issue promptly. In the absence of a satisfactory resolution, I will consider pursuing further action as appropriate.

This has been, without exaggeration, one of the most stressful and disappointing service experiences I’ve ever encountered. I urge Mega Shift to act in good faith, take responsibility, and conduct a genuine search effort. If they are unwilling to continue the search, then they must acknowledge their negligence and offer fair and appropriate compensation.

For anyone considering using Mega Shift’s services, I advise caution. Based on my experience, they have failed to live up to their advertised standards of professionalism, care, and reliability.
