Disappointing experience – lack of transparency

My experience with Cars4Us raised serious concerns around transparency and informed consent.

I was asked to sign a contract on a representative’s phone, which made it difficult to properly review the terms. I had concerns about a $1,000 cancellation fee and believed this had been addressed following a discussion with management. It was not.

An encumbrance was later placed on my vehicle without this being clearly explained to me beforehand. This prevented me from selling the car elsewhere, even after deciding not to proceed.

I was informed that a fee would be required to remove the encumbrance.

I believe consumers should be clearly informed of all contractual consequences before signing, particularly where there is no cooling-off period.

And for all their exploitative behaviour, they are getting rewarded by Toyota purchasing this company for $120million, what does that say about the world we currently live in
