Useless at Management, ignores Maintenance Requests

This company recently took over the management for our HOA. I own my home. However, I pay almost $500 a month into the HOA. As soon as McGrath took over, maintenance requests were completely ignored, and nobody ever responded to online requests. When I called, I was ignored, or told to wait. It's been over a week since my first maintenance request was placed. I can only imagine if it had been some kind of emergency! What, exactly, am I paying these people for? Absolute rip-off. Avoid them at all costs.

Easily one of the worst management…

Easily one of the worst management companies around. Our property manager was Maureen. She was very unorganized and unprofessional. Residents of the building would bring issues to her attention and nothing ever got resolved. During last winter they forgot to hire someone to take care of snow and ice removal on the sidewalks around our building, so it became hazardous to walk past our building. It took weeks and multiple snow storms with residents shoveling and salting the sidewalks around the building for McGrath to do anything, and our building even made it into the local paper because ours was one of the only ones that did not maintain the sidewalks. The elevator would go out of service whenever the building lost power. The first time this happened it was down for 3-4 days. After multiple calls and emails without any response from Maureen or McGrath the elevator was finally reset. The next time this happened i called Maureen and notified her that elevator was down again and needed to be reset. i waited patiently for days without bothering Maureen about the elevator. On the 4th day i called her to see what the update was, and she didnt have any information, it seemed like she forgot about it and when i pressed her she got extremely agitated and started yelling at me over the phone. She said i was badgering her about the elevator being down even though i called her once to report it and a second time 4 days later to get an update. She abruptly hung up the phone on me and lo and behold the elevator was reset within the hour! It was one of the most bewildering and unprofessional interactions i have ever experienced. I called McGrath to report this, and they acted like they couldnt care less. These are just a few examples of the inept and unprofessional behavior portrayed by Maureen and McGrath Management. It feels like they just want to be paid to manage properties but not do the work theyre actually paid for, and if you complain or even ask questions they get defensive and unprofessional. Speaking from my own personal experience, their lack of communication, unprofessional behavior and disregard for their clients is truly astonishing.

They have made my life easier

They have made my life easier. I din’t worry about my units because they’re managing them really well. They market the available units, screen potential tenants, take care of maintenance, make sure tenants pay on time.

Highly recommeneded by tenants

I am one of the tenants in a condo that they’re managing and I must say that their management is very smooth. Our maintenance requests are looked into roght away and everything is convenient for us.

Definitely highly recommended for both landlords and tenants. I hope other landlords would hire a property management company as effective as them.
