McDougal Realty is a Huge Nightmare
McDougal Realty is a huge nightmare to deal with!!! We rented duplex from them. Carrie Broadus was our landlord. She was constantly harassing and bullying me about everything, especially our rent. I’ve been unemployed since July of 2023 and she has done nothing but harass me, bully me and talk down to me. And because I do NOT like that, NO ONE LIKES BEING TREATED THAT WAY, she refuses to allow us to renew our lease. She has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH!! Her rental properties sit vacant for a very long time. You’d think that she’d be grateful to have people wanting to live here and pay rent. But she’s obsessed with being controlling and being a major bully. I feel bad for the people who are ignorantly paying this bully to rent their properties for them because she does a horrible job!!! And now she’s lying, saying that she refused to renew our lease because of too many late payments. She had to come up with something so that I can’t sue her. I’m going to anyway because even I passed out and had to go to the ER 2 days before we had to move out, she only let us go back to the duplex to get one more carload of things. Then while we were putting that stuff into a nearby storage unit and getting me some Gatorade at the nearby Circle K to make sure that I didn’t pass out again, she changed the locks on the door. I was unable to get the broken Dyson vacuum cleaner that was my mom’s before my former brother and his 2nd wife went behind my back and moved my mom halfway across Texas and now halfway across the country from us and we’ll probably never see her alive again. And we were unable to get some things that were my dad’s. He passed away from leukemia in September of 2020. I’m just waiting for her to try to collect money for us not cleaning the duplex well enough, even though she’s the one who changed the locks on the door. Yes, I sent her proof of when I passed out and had to go to the ER, paperwork that I received when I left the ER, as well as pictures of my injuries, which included a black right eye, a busted bottom lip and a scrape on my head that I got when I faceplanted onto the carpet in front of my wooden dresser. She allowed us to access the duplex 1 more time before she changed the locks on the door. That’s extremely evil, cruel and unprofessional. Now we are homeless and are having to pay to stay at a hotel temporarily.
