Do not buy your white goods as extras from Mcdermott homes when you buy your new build. Once you are out of the manufacturer’s warranty you will have no joy getting a repair or replacement from Mcdermott Homes if anything goes wrong with your appliances. They will use delays tactics for weeks on end and ask you for an engineers report then will fob you off by asking you to contact the manufacturer even though they are actually your retailer. We bought Indesit condenser dryer for £500 on 06/12/2023 installed 14/2/2024 from Mcdermott Homes which has been used for only around 35 drying cycles. My vulnerable relative who is now incontinent with late stage dementia now has no tumble dryer at all. She cannot afford to replace this appliance herself due to all the ongoing expenses of being a disabled person. Further more the manufacturer will not provide a repair unless you pay them. Consumer rights are being breached by Mcdermott Homes as they should provide goods that are fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time. We have no option but to save up for an engineers report and issue a court money claim against Mcdermott Homes. We are very distrustful of Mcdermott Homes. Indesit charge £144 for a repair at the current time of writing.
