Do it

One call did it all. I kept putting off mastering and mixing courses. I wasn’t sure what I actually needed to continue working on my music TRE did it all from song creation to mixing and mastering, producing your own material and having a confidence you know what you’re doing was exactly what I was looking for. I owe it all to them. Thank you so much, so glad I found you.

The company works extremly well

The company works extremly well, they are well organized, they take a lots of efforts to support and help their clients.
The program structure is unique in it's approach in many ways and the results are outstanding (One can regularly hear that in the mentor calls when clients present their mixes and masters for reviews or ask questions). High niveau. I am very happy to participate (the years of guesswork are finally over).

The Reverse Engineer from MASTERING.COM

When I joined the flagship program, I was not sure what to expect but I needed to do something that would hopefully get me bang for buck. Not only did this exceed my wildest expectations, the support from the mentors and the community is amazing. I get to talk to the movers and shakers in the industry and as a result my mixes are coming out better than they have ever been and I am doing things objectively following a set process that is repeatable and ensures quality every time. If you want to take your mixing and mastering to the next level as well as your production, join The Reverse Engineer program you will not regret it. For those nay sayers, I am not affiliated with mastering.com I am just one of the many students who has been through the music industry grinder and wanted something that is authentic and genuine and a community that really cares about your progress. I found that here.

Wanna sound better? Join this program!

If you've been like me and trying to teach yourself audio for over 20 years and hit a wall 10 years ago but kept pressing on with great perseverance, this is the program that'll help you punch through that plateau. The information the program has is vital! The coaches like Dane, Jake, Devvon and Caleb are all phenomenal teachers. My songs have never sounded better after utilizing the knowledge I got from the mastering and mixing sections (and I haven't even finished the production section yet!) and the community are just as helpful with everyone banding together to help each other get through each others' hurdles. I couldn't recommend this program more!

Quite possibly one of the greatest go-at-your-own-pace education programs for Sound Engineering and Music Production out there

The Community, the Classroom lessons and the Mentor/Coaching calls have made this program the amazing resource that it is. As the wealth of information in the program is expanding, growing and changing with the industry, I continue to navigate my way through the course materials to pick up valuable information. For anyone who wishes to pursue a future in sound engineering and music production, I highly recommend this program to help you achieve your goal.

Started Good

I joined the TRE program and it started good, but they integrated it with a bigger, more expensive program. During feedback calls, I suspect they know what program you are in and try not to help too much if you came from the cheaper program. This is disappointing.
They locked the group so I can't mark progress off in the course (i had a few modules that I had not finished and now I can't.)
I hope my experience is the exception; the course work seems legitimate, but without the mentoring it seems like not a good value.

So sorry to hear this, we never want anyone's experience in our program to be less than stellar. Just to clarify a few things, we absolutely never intentionally withhold information from students under any circumstances, regardless of which programs you're a part of; we only ever want you to succeed. I'm sure your experience with the "locked group" is a technical issue we can easily resolve for you. You still have unlimited access to mentorship, please just let one of your mentors know asap so we can get it resolved for you quickly!

TRE is totally magic

I was just thinking the best way to describe The Reverse Engineer is like Hogwarts for music tech >_< It's just absolute freaking magic! The BEST learning environment. I feel so inspired, & so motivated to continue levelling up and learning. The community is awesome, the mentors are beyond generous with their knowledge & wisdom, and the insights I'm gaining into my craft are invaluable. I'm not only filling the technical gaps in my knowledge but learning how to navigate the industry, as well as addressing all the mindset stuff that can otherwise hold you back. And I'm having so much fun too! Mastering.com are absolutely brilliant and my life is much enriched since discovering them ^_^ Thank you team! XXX

I've been doing audio for many years…

I've been doing audio for many years but was not able to achieve the results I wanted. I took the leap and spent the money. Almost immediately, I learned a major difference from recording analog to recording digital that improved my recordings. It has continued for over a year now and I am still gaining valuable information, training my ear and making connections inside a community that is so supportive that it makes me proud to be a part of it. This is not a course for everyone. It is very difficult. It is expensive. But for me, it is worth it. Getting a musical piece radio ready is a game of inches. I'm glad that I made the move.

The future looks bright, and I’ll never look back!

I’ve been in the full Reverse Engineer program for 8 months and my skills have improved exponentially. I played in bands and paid the rent that way all through the emergence of the home recording industry, but went for security of a teaching and tech career — I have a Bachelor’s in Music and a Master’s in Education. Now I find myself helping friends who toughed it out and are working in the business but reached a plateau, and my musical life is experiencing a total resurrection. The curriculum is precisely what we need to know to get results, But the golden nugget is that every one of these mentors is also an excellent teacher — whether recording a video or running a live session, they make their thinking visible. It’s not simply what or how, but deeply into the Why. All of the above is already the description of a fabulous program, but then there’s the Skool community. If you are used to YouTube comments and most of social media, you will be gratefully relieved to discover the largest, most humble, most supportive community of talented participants you can imagine — true colleagues in every sense of the word.

The future looks bright. I’ve never looked back.

I got a gig tracking on an HBO special in just over a year

The date of my experience is the day I finished the last tracks for the upcoming Stax Records documentary that will be on HBO in 2024. My intentions when I joined the program was to help local artists break into music production. I jumped back in to music production after a few decades off. In just over a year, I took a 16 year old 3/4 double upright player and got her a recording gig doing tracks for an HBO special. That doesn't happen without TRE. And I got the gig because another TRE member was the BIG CHEESE on the production and wanted to share the wealth within the program and community because WE ARE FAMILY!!!! I am proof that a 60 year old can still get big gigs with big names and the check I just received is proof enough for me! Those who fail in this program fail themselves because they just didn't put in the effort. Anything worth doing requires hard work; it's not gifted to you. And the program is sweet but the community is the biggest part of the iceberg you don't see. I love these people!!!

Game Changer

I have done many production mixing courses. In my opinion this the most professional. Initially I had a bad experience on first call but gave it another shot and I am very glad I did. This is not a class for someone not serious. It requires effort, perseverance, and daily ear training. The long term improvement has been very noticeable in my music career.

So happy I joined The Reverse Engineer

Being a student at mastering.com is downright awesome. I'm doing the 2-year Reverse Engineer program, and I'm having the best time ever. The course material is super engaging, the mentors brilliant and the community too. Sounds like I'm paid to advertise here, but from all of the communities I've been in, this has been the best. People are super friendly, always out to help and cheer, so I've made quite a few new friends. I love how active the community is. And you have ample opportunity to meet and talk to the mentors in the many live calls that are held each week, or they too are active in the community and often reply to messages.

Bottom line, I'm really happy I decided to join The Reverse Engineer!

TRE - if music is serious to you!

I have been in the music biz since 1966. I have been lucky. I had a lot of success as a songwriter, producer, musical arranger and session musician - I have had 1000 of hours in the studio among the very best musicians of Sweden - and you now they are world class. In the year of 2000 I decided to try something else in life and stopped all music creation and went into school as a principal and later on full time as a politician. It was great!
But in 2023 the longing for making music grow strong. And encouraged by my wife I entered an International song writing camp - and there I decided to go for another 25 years or so.. I entered TRE at Mastering. com to refresh my knowledge, get new perspectives, learn the digital music production world and the skill of mastering. And the best thing we all can do is to invest in ourselves - and this is the best investment I have done for so many years. I recommend TRE for anyone that is serious about music, sound and professionalism. I meet new friends everyday in the community and collaboration is great!

Excellent training for audio mixing, mastering and production.

I have been a student for around 9 months and have really appreciated and enjoyed the TRE course training in mastering and mixing (not yet started on the production syllabus).

Although I've been playing music for over 50 years, I've not previously been interested in the technical side of producing recorded music to a professional standard.

If that's your interest, then I would highly recommend mastering.com for its impressive, highly-detailed presentation of what can be an overwhelmingly complex subject.

The online course work and many hands-on exercises is supported by an extensive schedule of online in-person mentoring, and a large enthusiastic, helpful community of fellow students.

I was convinced to join by watching several of their free, 3-day "Fix the Mix" presentations. So much was presented in these session, and it made me realize the value and - at least for me - necessity of taking the time and effort to explore the whole subject in much more depth.

Within the course material, along with the technical understanding, there was a strong emphasis on other essential skills that any professional recording engineer needs to have, such as deep ear training and the ability to create a professional-grade listening environment.

This is the best and most enjoyable learning experience I have encountered (I've had a few!) and I would thoroughly recommend the TRE program to anyone looking to develop their ability to produce professionally competitive music, from initial recording to the finished, mixed and mastered, final product.

Not really worth the money

I had a chat with a gentleman named Jackson, who may or may not still be with the company. I didn't pay the full price for the program but the fee to keep me on the mailing list and potentially join if/when i was ready. I have been producing/composing music for commercials for about 18 years, making a decent living, if not doing exactly what I want to musically. I mainly wanted advice with getting my non-commercial music onto playlists, and getting more work as a producer of artists and bands - mainly business advice more than technical mixing/mastering advice. I think these guys should have just said "we are not the ones to help you" but instead they said they could help, and continued to pitch their services to me with frequent emails. Granted, I didn't really follow through with them. But all the videos and emails they have sent focus on the mastering strategy and not the business side of things. Now, it's possible i'm just not a good songwriter and that's not something these guys can help with. I have watched a few how-to/engineering tricks, and they're not bad, though not necessarily mind-blowing either. So I'm not really sure what they actually offer. I just received an email from a singer/songwriter/producer on behalf of mastering.com. When I searched out and listened to his music, I was pretty disappointed with not just the music, but the production too. And this was one of the guys they thought should be a voice of the company. It brings the whole enterprise into question. I give them more than one star because some of their tips/tricks videos could definitely be helpful to people who are just starting out.

This Program Changed My Life! 🔥🫠

Mastering.com and The Reverse Engineer program have been a huge part of my life for the past three years. When I started, I was working at a mine in New Mexico, feeling pretty bummed out because my music just didn't sound professional. I signed up to learn the ins and outs of mastering, but I ended up getting so much more.

As I dove into the program, I realized that understanding mastering was actually making my mixing and production skills way better. It was like a lightbulb went off, and everything about music production started to make more sense.

Seeing the progress I was making, I decided to double down and join their Producing for Income Elective. That decision paid off big time. In just over a year, I was able to leave my mining job and start producing music full-time. Now, I work with clients from all over, right from my own place.

I used to think a career in music was out of reach for me. But the community at Mastering.com proved me wrong. I've met some incredible people who've become close friends and have even offered me a couch to crash on if I ever needed it. These friendships have opened doors to new opportunities that I just didn't have back in my hometown.

Every lesson, every mentorship call, every interaction in the community has been packed with value. And here's the real kicker, after years of growing and honing my skills through the program, I've come full circle. The team at Mastering.com recognized my dedication and the strides I'd made, and they offered me a mentor position. It's been an incredible honor to shift from being a student to a guide, from absorbing knowledge to now being a source of inspiration and support for others embarking on their own music journeys. It's a role that's not only a testament to my growth but also a chance to give back to the community that's given me so much. This experience has been one of the most rewarding parts of my musical path, and it's a chapter I'm proud to write.

If you're sitting there wondering if this program can help you level up your music production game, I'm here to tell you it can. I've lived it. I went from dreaming about a music career to living it every day, and now I get to help others do the same. If you've got the drive to improve your skills, I wholeheartedly recommend this program. It's been a life-changer for me, and it could be for you too!

Fantastic Program - 6 Month Review

I am 6 months into my journey with The Reverse Engineer program and for anybody who is serious about becoming a music producer this is a fantastic journey. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a minor in Music Production and Engineering and had been producing for several years but never quite got my mixes to sound like I wanted them to and was going down the Youtube rabbithole of "5 great tips for X,Y and Z" and trying to play whack a mole with all the things that I could not figure out how to do. First few weeks in TRE showed me that I had some serious holes in my education and although I am only about half of the way through the curriculum my mixes sound million times better and I am able to confidently produce, mix and master to a competitive level and most importantly I understand WHY I AM MAKING THE MOVES I AM MAKING and not following some "secret formula" somebody on youtube is trying to sell. Initially I was scared off by the price of the program but after doing the free fix-the-mix challenge I realized that if I want to get better I really need to invest in my education and I am absolutely convinced that this is the best investment I have made in my production career.

For anyone serious about music production

This program is legit and is great for anyone that is serious about taking their music production to a professional level. The education content is top quality, the course work/assignments give you lots of hands on experience and the the mentorship and the community help inspire and keep you focused.

Through everything I learned I was able to set up my studio; record, mix and master my own EP; and now I am doing mixing and production work for other artists.

I can't recommend this course enough.
