The course is very engaging
The course is very engaging, the instructors helped me with every question I had. The video demonstrations are more in depth than any other music production course I have ever taken. There a zoom call with an instructor 6 out of 7 days of the week so I could get help almost everyday. The course goes over the three processes of music, mastering, mixing and producing. highly recommend it to anyone who want to learn everything about music productions and then some more.
Unmatched Clarity and Mentorship in Music Production
I have truly found a community of musicians and engineers who are deeply invested in both their own growth and the success of others. I first discovered Fix the Mix through YouTube videos and Instagram ads, where I was introduced to Michael, Jake, Caleb, and Rob. Their curriculum and mentorship have provided me with a level of clarity in my music production journey that I hadn’t experienced before. From Music Production 101 to Fix the Mix, The Reverse Engineer, and beyond (as I continue learning full-stack production), each step has been guided by some of the best mentors and creatives in the industry.
The program is so detailed…
The program is so detailed the instructors are so knowledgeable when it comes to logic and get that certain sound I use to think you had to use outward gear. But that isn't true. You just need to know how to use what you have in the box
TRE Program
After swimming around aimlessly in an endless sea of information, I opted to join Mastering.com and often wish that I had done so sooner. Their Reverse Engineering curriculum is very well structured as it shined a light on the gaps that have slowed me down for some time. The community is a bonus where there is support at every corner. The mentors are hands-down brilliant and pretty entertaining while offering up invaluable feedback and guidance.
Overall, it’s been a great experience — one that I can’t recommend enough for any and everyone looking to further their education and experience with all things music production.
A long way behind me...and a long way ahead...
I'm in the middle of the program and it just seems right to sing the praises of a course that is so well thought out and philosophically sound in its approach, and so well implemented with instruction that covers every step of the way. The great community is part of what makes this experience rich.
Best Decision I’ve made in a Long time!
This is a very well thought out, structured and extremely well run course that is regularly updated to meet the changes that occur in Mastering, Mixing and Production. The Mentors are excellent both in terms of their availability and expertise. The community is second to none - it is a safe and supportive community in which you will find lots of advice and help should you need it. There are many opportunities to collaborate with fellow members. The advice and mentorship that you get in achieving a well acoustically treated room is worth the price of admission alone! I am just over a year in the course and my skill set has improved out of sight. If you are in two minds about signing up, do not hesitate - you will not be disappointed.
The community is so great
The community is so great, everyone is striving to be better, and everyone helps each other out all the time! The information in the school program itself is great, but beyond that, the community as so much to teach as well! from one person in the community alone, taught me information that took years and years of research/ trial and error to figure out, and he just told me about the info for free, just because I asked the community a question.
Mastering.com is high level
Mastering.com is a high level course, community, and access to mentors. Simply put, it will help you understand music production, mixing, and mastering at the level of the pros. I absolutely recommend it!
My Experience with Mastering.com: A Transformative Journey
I’ve been with Mastering.com for one year, and I can confidently say it’s been a game-changer for my music production journey. Before joining, I struggled to consistently produce music that sounded professional. Now, my music has improved significantly, and I owe that to the comprehensive training and support I’ve received through their program.
The lessons are incredibly detailed, covering everything from foundational techniques to advanced production strategies. What sets Mastering.com apart is their ability to break down complex topics into simple, actionable steps. Whether it’s EQ, compression, mixing, or mastering, they make it easy to grasp and apply.
Another standout feature is their mentorship. The feedback from professionals has been invaluable. They don’t just critique; they provide constructive advice that helps you grow as a producer.
If you’re serious about elevating your music to a professional level, I highly recommend Mastering.com. It’s an investment, but the results speak for themselves.
Mastering.com is dam near perfect
What makes Mastering.com great is the community….Not only is the course curriculum top notch but you get so many opportunities to see principles in practice during numerous mentoring sessions. I feel like I have improved 3 or 4 levels since joining the student body. The best investment in audio engineering I’ve ever made!!
Pioneer your development
I really enjoy being a part of this community and the course content that is offered. It has really allowed me to achieve a level of confidence in music production, mixing and mastering due to being taught through building extensive experience in conjunction with deep learning for true consolidation.
The community is very open minded and includes a lot of positive reinforcement. Everyone looks out for each other and grows collectively. Looking forward to continuing my journey with Mastering.com
Mastering.com is an awesome program
Mastering.com is an awesome program. My experience has being second to none. The instructor and The Reverse Engineer (TRE) curriculum is truly helping me an its students to built our knowledge as engineers in a manner not match by any other school. TRE curriculum in my opinion is very special as it can help starting engineer as well as season engineers. In addition, TRE's instructor are totally devoted to the program and the teaching of the material. They truly want to make sure your understand the material. Another important fact is the TRE community, they are also there when you need them. This program is truly special it has made me better, even though I still got a long way to go. Definitely recommended.
Mastering.com TRE program is AMAZING!
Mastering.com The Reverse Engineer program did wonders for me! I have taken institutional and industry training along my engineering path. However, most of them were a complete waste of money. I was able to obtain more relevant information by watching YouTube and other video tutorials and books. One of those video tutorial sites was Mastering.com. So, when I saw that they had developed an engineering program for all three pillars of engineering. I jumped on it. I was not disappointed. The lessons are well thought out and frequently updated. I had to do a couple of the modules twice due to the industry changes and updated techniques. My engineering abilities have increased since starting this program. Additionally, the community aspect of the program is equally amazing. You will have the ability to meet other engineers and musicians for collaborations or business ventures.
Two of my most liked features of the TRE program are the mentorship and the Student Success Specialist Lucy. She provides extreme support and a caring ear to everyone in the program.
If you are an aspiring engineer, producer, or artist in need of training. This is the program for you.
Blessed!
Mastering.com Hits a Home Run
Mastering.com is fantastic. They’ve truly built something unique in the music business space. The Reverse Engineer curriculum is exceptionally well thought out, but what makes it so special are the teachers and mentors who really care about your progress. They take the time to dive into the weeds to make sure you understand the concepts. I can truly say there’s no other community like it, and the value is unparalleled.
Mastering.com is totally awesome!!
I have been in TRE - Reverse Engineer course at Mastering.com for over a year and it has been totally awesome and fulfilling, I have learned so much. My journey into music started back in the early 90’s, I used to make beats and record people in the neighborhood using a 4 track tape recorder. In the early 2000’s I moved to a hard disk recorder and then eventually to a DAW. From the 90’s up until I joined TRE I had bought every mixing book/magazine, watched every video, and asked tips from anyone and everyone I could find but still didn’t obtain the knowledge or expertise that I desired. I even did other online schools, including a well known school on the east coast where I did over two years and still didn’t feel like I really learned much. I became very frustrated and was at the point were I was thinking about just calling it quits and then I heard about TRE, I was very skeptical at first because I didn’t want to pay money for potentially another school that taught me nothing, but I had watched a couple of their free videos online and thought if they’re giving all this good information away for free then surely the paid course would be incredible. I thought if I could actually obtain the knowledge that I desire then I would have no problem paying the tuition, so I took a leap of faith and it was the best decision of my musical journey. After I joined I was blow away by all the information that they gave and all the live mentor sessions. Totally awesome!! At the beginning they teach you how to acoustically treat your room and which materials to use and how to build it yourself. Just that part is worth the cost of tuition, in my opinion. My room turned out amazing, and everyone that sees it always comments on how nice it looks. As far as the rest of the course it systematically takes you step by step on how to master, mix, and produce, as well as training your ears to hear correctly. After joining TRE I started to realize all those books, videos that I previously purchased really had no substance. I could go on for days telling how awesome TRE is but I was summarize it by saying it’s almost guaranteed that you won’t be disappointed.
TRE-4-LIFE!!!
Mastering.Com's, The Reverse Engineer Program is one of the most innovative music engineering curriculums to ever be put together! This is the type of program that my friends wished they had gotten when they signed up for college music courses, and internships back in the day, but didn't get! Mastering.com CARES about your success as an artist and as a creator and they dedicate themselves to see you through your personal struggles. If you have been writing music for years but have very little or nothing to show for your work, and you LOVE music and want something tangible you can share with the world, then I highly recommend you make this a priority in your life. You will learn everything you need to know to Produce, Edit, Mix, and Master your tracks to completion, to a Professional Standard! You will never have to be alone in your struggle to make music again. They will always be there for you, for direction, analysis, suggestions, and education. TRE-4-Life!!!
Mastering.com is an incredible Audio Engineering School
Mastering.com is an incredible education platform for audio engineering students. Prior to enrolling in their Reverse Engineer Program, I attended two other music academies and watched hundreds of hours of Youtube Videos, etc., in an effort to become a professional music producer. I'm so glad that I decided to attend this school because in little over a year, I have an acoustically treated, sound pressure level measured home project studio in which I've developed an accurate listening environment. Through the online community and mentorship I've learned how to use the professional tools and techniques that I've been searching for. I'm excited to see how my original projects will come together as I work through my second year of The Reverse Engineer.
Great program! It’s worth it!
I gave 4 stars because there’s always room for improvement. I can say what has made my first year with Mastering.com’s Reverse Engineer program worthwhile has been the dedication that the instructors and staff have towards making the program worth the time and money spent. With daily mentorship calls, I am never without the use of personalized instruction should I need it.
The community is also a great source of information. Useful topics and tutorials that I never even thought to engage in or research can found any day or hour of the week.
The hardest and most grueling part so far has been rearranging, testing and treating my room for the Acoustic Truth stage. Funny that it’s also turned out to be the most rewarding as I’m now the only one of my friends or collaborators to have the most accurate mixing environment. Which makes me the guy to work with!
My only real complaint is that the mastering exercises in the tutorials could be more broken down and explained a little better; be more bite sized in a way. So they’re less of an obstacle to be overcome and more of an invitation to learn.
TRE - Where you better your music and yourself
In short: most resourceful, helpful and great community never short of knowledge to acquire!! Worth every penny and minute I've spent so far (about a year consistent, in for 1,5years) and looking forward to all there is to learn about music!
In long: I joined TRE summer '23 after a Fix-The-Mix Challenge and really started Jan '24. It's now a year later and joining was one of the best decisions I ever made. Yes. It has its price. But if you are serious about diving in deep - like cell-level deep - you're at the right spot!
I was intimidated by the sheer talent that is in TRE already (members as well as mentors) at first as I have never produced, mixed or mastered anything, but the positivity, support and knowledge in this program is absolutely mind-blowing. And everyone is respectful, helpful, friendly and in for a great experience!
It is a lot of work, especially starting out blank like me but SO worth it! As long as you are willing to put in the time and are consistent you'll improve - I usually work (my regular job) six days a week and now I'm almost through the Mastering Section. I have learned and improved a lot (especially my hearing). Gained more confidence in my abilities and I am thrilled for the next steps!
Much love and respect to the team of Mastering.com and especially Lucy !!
EDited review
I gave a review a while ago on Mastering.com and I would like to ammend that review. The problems I had were due to a slight glitch in the system and it was also across the Christmas period. After speaking to Rob from Mastering.com he explained what had caused the problem. I have to ask for their forgiveness on this one as I think I jumped the gun with the review. All has been resolved, money reimbursed (although they did not have to for the book i purchased). I want to thank Rob and the guys for doing this for me. Mark
