The worst experience ever..

The worst experience ever... Unbelievable delivery performance... 2/3 of my boxes were not delivered. I just received my first box... they don't even have enough capacity to manage their delivery or customer service. I haven't received any email regarding my missing box for 4 days and today they sent an email mentioning that "Thanks again for your message to our Customer Communications team.

We would like to apologize that you haven't heard from us yet.

We are very happy that we can offer more and more people our box in these turbulent times.

We are currently experiencing an unexpectedly high number of customer requests, which is impacting our response time."

Sorry but if you cannot manage a high number of customer requests and then don't accept more membership. Maybe everyone is asking where their boxes are...

Marley is the best!

Food from Marley Spoon is delicious!

There is much recipes to choose, every week we can choose something with meat, something with fish or totally vegetarian with a lot, lot vegetables. 🙂 There is also all the types of kitchen - from dutch to mexican or even thai or japanese and it is nice, because we can try new tastes or new dishes from the kitchen which we like the most. 🙂
The package is always on time, ingredients are good packed and fresh, recipes are clear and easy, cooking takes maximum 40 minutes but the most important - some of the dishes are so big that we have them for two days or even for 3 or 4 persons. 🙂
We also get a presents - once we get wooden spoon, the next time it was eco shopping bag and we can't wait what present we will get next time and we are here with Marley for already 8 weeks. 🤗
Since we are eating with Marley Spoon, we eat much more vegetables, pasta and different type of fish what is important because before we didn't have so good ideas what to mix with what. We also save a lot of money, what in this times is also important and we are just happy that we found Marley Spoon on the internet and decide to cook with them! 😊

I love Marley !

I love Marley !! Don’t order every week but when I do we eat with the whole family or sometimes just the two of us. The recipes are alway different, nice to make, there’s lots of variety and best of all the flavours are great!! Perfect combinations of flavours and foods.

terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, tried to deliver me meat when i am vegetarian, wouldn't let me cancel my order. Had no consideration that i had been a paying customer for months. Didn't want to end my subscription but the customer service was so terrible that i ended up having to cancel. They are now trying to make me pay for an order, with additional fines, that i did not ever receive. Such a shame!

I'm sorry to hear that your experience with Marley Spoon has not been so good!

If you have indicated in the tasteprofile in your account that you do not want to receive meat, but you have still received meat, something went wrong in our production centre. Of course, this should not happen and we always want to see what we can do for you. This also counts for the fact that you did not receive your box (unless you refused it yourself at the door). In that case, of course, you do not have to pay for what you did not receive. However, please do not return the paid amount yourself, as you would then receive a payment reminder. If both has not happened I recommend you to contact our customer service to discuss this further.

Also, I would like to explain why we can't cancel your order. We can cancel an order up to 6 days before the delivery date. After that, your box goes into production and all ingredients are purchased. At Marley Spoon, we work hard to create as little food waste as possible and even try to get it down to zero. Because of this, our fresh products are purchased in very precise quantities. So if your order falls within these 6 days, unfortunately we cannot cancel it.

Not fresh enough

it would be much better if the meat had a longer expiry date, often after opening it does not smell good anymore. that's why she chose more vegetarian dishes now. nice to have an english version of the recipes of the dishes

Keeps our weekly meals varied

Keeps our weekly meals varied, without having to plan too much. Quality of ingredients is generally better than "the other" food box supplier. Dishes are quite varied, but not always to my family's taste.

Nice concept, not always fresh veggies

In general a good concept, recipes are sometimes nice other times a bit boring. Some of the bigger down sides;
- ingredients are not always fresh. Especially leaf things like spinach can be already bad after two days (if I buy a pack at AH it easily stays fresh for a week).
- can change the recipes only till a week before the delivery.

Worth the money

Food was rotten after 1 day

Food was rotten after 1 day, did they expect me to finish 4 meals on the day of delivery? And the tomatoes were almost frozen, what kind of person refrigerates tomatoes? Mental! Maybe to slow the rot. All the recipes are weird af and all the ingredients are thrown together, so have fun sorting out 20 small bags with herbs. The whole point of this for me, was not to be wasteful, but I had to throw out a lot of stuff.

Beyond disappointed

Beyond disappointed. Tried Marley Spoon when I got a discount code but it has been very disappointing. All ingredients thrown together in a box. Why no use paper bags like hellofresh does, that keeps it together? Portions are very small and quality of the products left wanting but what bugged me most is that one delivery didn’t reach me on the day it was mentioned but the following and was told to thrown all the dairy and meat away. The fruit and vegetables in that box were also badly damaged so the whole box had to be thrown! I shall be returning to hello fresh. They use their own delivery drivers, the portions are bigger and I don’t lose time trying to gather all mouldy, busted up, gone off items for the recipe. Oh and before you ask me to try one more time, I had 3 boxes, all disappointing!

There are better food box alternatives

There are better food box alternatives. The ingrediënts are thrown into the box and you have to find out yourself which one belongs to which meal. When I order a food box I expect things to be easy but the box arrived messy. I got the smallest spring onion I have ever seen in my life. Have you ever seen a spring onion as thin as udon noodle 😂🤦‍♀️
I cancelled right away.
To marley spoon: please sort the ingrediënts in (paper) bags so they don't arrive all mixed/messed up.

Edit to the reply: this way of delivering doesn't necessarily help with the freshness of the products. You can just add the spices to the cooling bag, and use smaller cooling bags.

We have chosen for this new way of packing to deliver the products better to your home and to keep the productss fresher for longer. By separating the fragile items from less fragile items, we prevent damage. This does mean that you have to select the ingredients yourself and store them in the place that suits you best.

Of course, we take your feedback seriously and look at the impact this new box has on the convenience of use. We are therefore always open to suggestions for improving the box.

The new app is a step backwards

The new app is a step backwards. My old recipes are no longer accessible beyond the last few months and there is no longer a search function. This has fundamentally changed the service compared to when I first signed up which makes me consider other competitors. Recently a delivery date was changed without warning which gave affected my weekly dinner plans.

Horrible execution, stay away.

Good concept, horrible execution. I've been using Marley Spoon for many weeks now and every week, there is something wrong. Either ingredients are missing or rotten, or the box is an absolute mess with ingredients all thrown into the box. Go for Hello Fresh instead, much better service.

They're so bad that their CEO had to send out an apology letter/email a few weeks ago.

I have tried different meal boxes and…

I have tried different meal boxes and decided to switch it up and try martha and marley spoon. I plan my grocery trips around expecting to have this food in my house. My box was supposed to be delivered Saturday. It is Tuesday evening and the box has still not arrived. Undoubtedly when it arrives to food will be spoiled after being in transit for so long. I have tried to contact Marley spoon to get a refund and to report the missing package. I have emailed, I have called, I have used their texting service, I have got nothing but automated messages. The phone number hangs up on you after referring you to their website. The email sends a generic thank you for your email with absolutely no follow-up or remedy. The texting service just tells me nobody's available and that the food will be fine when if it arrives one day late because they put ice packs in. This is not one day late. This is four days late, and I do not think the food will be fine. After only 2 weeks I have already canceled the service. The first box I ordered was one day late. I've never had a box arrive late from any other company aside from the time there was a snowstorm.

Rotten ingredients

The yellow peppers in the paprika soup were almost totally rotten.
The apple and the tarragon in the Finnish soup were also quite rotten.
That is a lot of rot...
This is not even the first, but reaches a new level.
