They offer free access to help build a solid foundation for learning Chinese, and the method they teach is highly effective. The only downside is that the free trial is so good, I’m seriously considering buying lifetime access, even though it’s a bit pricey by my standards. That said, you could argue that if it helps you become fluent in Mandarin Chinese, it’s definitely worth it. I strongly recommend this program to anyone learning Chinese.

I am from India a student of class 11 humanities.
I want to study chinese for career and to become versatile.
So I started to study 2 months ago ,at first I started with Duolingo but it wasn't effective.
So I searched in YouTube for chinese and from zeo language channel , who recommended to watch your pronunciation video , then I watched and Luke sir told about the course which was completely free ..It was a real free gift for me and I think I am very fortunate that I found such a good course where learning character is really like learning history for me ..
Best platform for chinese ...
Thanks Luke and Phil sir ....

By far the best language learning course I’ve come across. It’s understandable, enjoyable and definitely worth every cent.

Chinese isn't "hard". It is "different". Even people highly motivated to learn can be daunted by the characters and tones. But...
I have been studying with Mandarin Blueprint since late August 2025. Five weeks later, I am reading, writing and speaking sentences in Chinese characters with the correct tones (without Pinyin). Yes, these sentences are quite basic - but wow! I have learned 124 characters which are, by and large, the most commonly used.
If you are seriously interested in learning Chinese, take a look at Mandarin Blueprint Lite. It is free. The first phase may seem tedious, slow, or "noisy", but it is all about learning how to learn. And frankly, it totally beats apps and community college (other ways I tried to learn)!
There is a great online community to encourage and help you - and to share puns, stories, and travel photos. The founders remain super-engaged, holding in-person coffee chats on a regular basis.
If you are a truly serious learner, you can upgrade to Mandarin Pro and keep moving forward. I did so quickly.

MB is I think one of the best ways to learn Mandarin available, if not the best.
The method does have a slow start as you have to learn the 'movie method' for remembering characters, but like learning to drive a car, once you know what you're doing, going fast becomes easy. The course is hand-holdy for the first bit until you're comfortable enough on your own to move through learning at speed, but once the training wheels are off, I doubt there is a faster and more effective method of learning mandarin reading, writing, and speaking simultaneously, and intuitively connecting them all in your mind, the way a language should be learnt.

I am cautiously optimistic. I appreciate the use of science backed memory methods. I have completed Phase 1 already and am looking forward to progressing. I have studied Spanish, French, German, and Russian in an academic setting, and had private tutoring for over a year in Korean. Semi-fluency is the highest level I achieved, and just a month break would quickly leave me frustrated with the amount I would forget. This program (so far) makes it easy to stay consistent, and the Hanzi movie method and living links bypass a lot of the tedious time it takes to get vocabulary from short term to long term memory storage. Also, as an introvert, I am beyond thrilled that they give helpful options for really improving listening and speaking WITHOUT pushing awkward, stilted conversations with native speakers. In fact, they encourage a solid foundation of practice BEFORE engaging with native speakers. I don’t alway want to speak to people in my native language, why on earth would I want to speak to them in a language I am just learning? So, here’s to hopefully a successful journey of making Mandarin practice a daily part of my life, and getting to the point where talking with a stranger in Mandarin just makes me the same amount of nervous as talking to a stranger in English, ha. Cheers.

I’m an old guy who got interested in Chinese writing many decades ago. I was trying to learn Chinese but I could never learn to speak or listen. I loved writing characters so I continued but hit the brick wall at around 1500.
I started with this program and I love it!!! It’s a most amazing way to learn more characters. The focus on pronunciation is also amazing. I started the Pronunciation Master program after hearing Luke mention that focusing on producing correct pronunciation is a huge aid in correctly hearing the spoken Chinese. He’s right!
As a side note the memory palace has let me reach back into some very intense periods of my life. I’m Christian and this process of reviewing my life events has helped me come to terms with a very long journey. It’s kinda cool!
Thank you Phil and Luke!

Fantastic! They break down the pronunciation of Chinese so well. I almost gave up on learning Chinese because of the tones and pronunciation, but this made it so I want to keep going! worth every penny!

I’ve always used elements of this method to learn Chinese but having it so carefully sequenced and thought through with the addition of the flashcards and listening and speaking practice all bundled together is a game changer. I’m learning the characters far more thoroughly than ever before and for the first time, I’m remembering the tones too!

This is by far the best Chinese learning experience I've had short of in in-person class (and I think I probably would still learn more this way) Easy to follow and the Hanza movie method really works!

I tried to self-learn Chinese and hit a wall very soon. So I saw this website and decided to try it. So far, I have finished Phase 1-5 in a month and a half, and I can tell you that this is an amazing way to learn Chinese. Using the Hanzi Movie Method, I am recalling things that I am not supposed to remember, and daily flashcard review helps me to make the newly learned characters my own. I can already converse with my Chinese friends in Chinese to some extent, and they are amazed by how quickly I am improving. Of course, I am not saying it will be easy (I spent 2-3 hours a day on average), but I can tell you that it is definitely WORTH YOUR TIME!

The easy to follow Levels in MB Lite and Traverse links to MB.
I really appreciated how easy it was to follow through the levels and surprised at how many words I learnt and now know. Thank you Luke and Phil. Cheers Wendy Purdie

Lots of material both about how to study and Mandarin. Step by step approach. Clear instruction. Making progress in just a few days. It may seem slow and lumbering to start with but all good things are built on well made foundations.

MB provides such a structured and smart way of learning Chinese. As a person that speaks several languages, I understand that learning Chinese would require completely different approach than for example for English, Russian or German. The creators of MB propose the best way to acquire this language in my opinion.

Slogging through patiently with determination and suddenly realising how much you have learned when managing to speak and read by the sole use of the characters! Love it!

I just finished phase 1 of the training. I am so surprised at how effective this method is to remember both the meaning and pronunciation of characters. I have always been more of a visual person, and not great at memorization. This method is helping me feel like there is something concrete to hold on to and remember. (And understand)

Instead of focusing on the sound or the meaning, we’re asked to think about actors or scenes, which I haven’t succeeded in doing.

While I was skeptical at first of the Hanzi movie method, it really does work and I'm able to remember all of the characters of by heart without having to look it up!

TLDR; This programme is amazing!
This review is about the Lite version of the Mandarin Blueprint project. When I first saw Luke talking on YouTube about a magic method that would teach you Chinese more efficiently than ever, I was sceptical. What caught my attention was the mention of the mind / memory palace technique. Intrigued by it, I decided to subscribe to the Lite edition.
After just 2h of studying, I was already blown away by the method. I was able to recall random characters, together with their pronunciation and their meaning, after a single exposure. Now I'm through to level 13, which took me about 5 days of studying about 1.5-2h daily. I can't say I've mastered everything, but I would say that I can flawlessly recall 80% of the content that I've been learning. I am very happy that I see Chinese sentences and I can read parts of them based on the knowledge that I've acquired.
I can very well see how this method, together with sufficient exposure to native content, can accelerate the learning process. I highly recommend anyone willing to learn Chinese have a go with the Lite edition to see for yourself.

Everything about the course is well-prepared. I only had to give my time. The flashcards and Hanzi movie method make learning simple and fun. I had limited movie exposure as a child and teenager, which I am thankful for. I thought that might be a disadvantage, but actually made the process fun to maybe think of prominent memories in a positive light. I never thought so much about my best friend‘s bathroom!
