Maisons du Monde has failed to respond or resolve the issue

Maisons du Monde has failed to respond and/or resolve to my complaint for more than two months.

The issue is extremely simple: a minor correction of a detail on an invoice, required only for tax refund compliance procedures. This should be a basic administrative matter.

Instead, the company has made it impossible to resolve. They do not respond properly by email or chat. When contacted by phone, customer support says they cannot help and that the issue must be handled by email or chat - the very channels where nobody provides a solution.

This leaves the customer trapped in a circular and ineffective process, with no ownership, no accountability, and no resolution.

It is unacceptable that a company of this size cannot resolve such a simple invoice-related request after more than two months. Poor customer service and very disappointing handling of a basic case.

Appalling experience

Appalling experience. We ordered a bistro table from Maison du Monde's online second life section.

When we unpacked the box we discovered it only contained the plastic interior of the bistro table but not the base, the table top itself or the wooden outer layers.

We photographed the contents of the box and contacted Maisons du Monde customer service. After numerous 'losses of connection' an agent finally reviewed the photos and accepted it was an incomplete delivery. We were told to repackage the item and deliver it ourselves to the nearest Maisons Du Monde store,( a 40 minute drive from our apartment, hence the online order )
in order to REQUEST a reimboursement we were told that we would receive an email with a RIB. I asked why our money couldn't be returned directly to our credit card, as we paid by credit card, to be told this was not possible. The link to request repayment cannot be opened.

A few minutes later an agent rang to say not to worry we can keep the completely useless plastic interior and we didn't have to return it to the store. I explained I was not going to keep an unusable item and have take up space in my flat. The agent indicated I was being unreasonable. I asked the agent to arrange collection of the item and she said no, the price we paid only included delivery it did not cover the agent returning to collect a faulty item.

This leads me to the ' delivery' itself. the delivery man did not bring the table to our apartment but left it on the side of the road. My partner had to haul the large and heavy box up four flights of stairs.

Suffice to say I won't purchase from Maisons du Monde again, their service and after service is completely unacceptable.

Absolute and complete fraud

Absolute and complete fraud. Just a band of thieves and crooks. Do not buy from them if you value your peace of mind.
I purchased the goa canopy bed, in store. The bed arrived several weeks AFTER it was scheduled supposed to be here. Out of the box i realised a vital missing piece. Without it the bed doesn’t fuction. I took several images and went back to store. They said they will contact me within 2 days. Nothing! Zilch! Nada! Its been MONTHS. I finally contacted dgccrf! Do yourself a favor believe the 84% 1 star complaints. Just cannot make this up. Mind numbing

Unsatisfactory delivery and customer service

I can only share the unsatisfactory experience of this company. I'm sure the furniture I ordered is beautiful and will last a lifetime. Maisons Du Monde Belgique works with a transport company called Vir which has a cowboy approach to customer service. Good luck with getting your delivery instructions followed. And when you contact MDM customer service by phone, you are referred to a chat which seemingly is run by human beings. They have no influence over Vir. So let's see when this expensive furniture will arrive. Customer service says "be patient". And cuts you off when you ask for a more effective outcome.

Worst customer service

Unfortunately this shop has terrible customer and delivery services. I discourage anyone considering buying anything in this shop. I made a purchase online to be picked up at the shop. To start, they haven’t respected the informed delay for delivery and my order arrived days after the promised delivery date. Half of my ordered items were missing. I called the shop and complained on their website chat several times, never had a response. On the website chat they told me to contact the store, which never picked up the phone, and when I went to the shop in person their excuse was they couldn’t do anything because the order had been made online. No attempt to solve my issue and terrible customer service only shifting the blame internally to their online service. No solution nor offer to reimburse for the missing items. Really bad.m experience overall.I never want to buy on this shop again.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE & BRAND I HAVE…

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE & BRAND I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE.

just to name few:
- never received order confirmation.
- never able to change my email that has typo
- for 2 months over 10+ emails, calls, never get to initiate the free return of orders.

It feels like a part time job just to chase after their work. VERY UNPLEASANT AND I AM VERY SURPRISED THIS BRAND STILL OPERATES, REALLY INCOMPETENT I WOULD ACTIVELY ADVISE PEOPLE TO NEVER GET YOURSELF ENGAGE WITH THIS BRAND.

Terrible customer service

Ordered a bookcase. Got a message that it will be delivered within 2 weeks. After week 3: no news. Contacted the transport company (very friendly) who explained that they only received 1 out of 2 packages of my bookcase. Contacted Maison du Monde: terrible customer service: Chat service does not work, email neither. You have to call them, to hear that they speak hardly flemish, are not customer-friendly at all. Long story short, still no bookcase.

The most terrible customer experience…

The most terrible customer experience ever!
Just to start they don't have a CS number, and they say you can chat with them and nobody ever answers, and there is not even option to send an email. How is this even allowed from the law perspective?
Just to start the company they hired for the delivery, PSN Groen, denied to deliver the furniture I bought because it was too heavy, a company that is dedicated to deliver furniture said that a desk of 70kg was too heavy... they took away my furniture and didn't offer me a solution. I tried to call and set up another deliery appointment but they had already sent the pieces to the warehouse. Nobody answers at the warehouse, JP Home. I am trying to contact them through the shitty chat service they have and I don't get to talk to anyone, so I have paid 1000 euros and cannot even ask for a refund because I can't talk to anyone. UNBELIEVABLE! TERRIBLE! They should feel ashamed, this is a scum!

They refused to send a missing piece !!!

I ordered a bed, it was delivered and only at the last assembly step, I realized it was missing one slat.
I contacted them via chat, they said they would check with the warehouse and courier, and someone should contact me within 72 hrs. one week passed, no one contacted me (of course). I tried again via chat, they bluntly said the complaint period has expired (72 hrs after delivery), that no one has ever mentioned, and when I pressed them on teh chat session, they said they had no spare parts to send me the missing piece !!! and even hung up the chat session !!! Absolute disrespect for customers.

Sofa Fabric Quality worse than terrible

I ordered a sofa with covers that are machine washable. The problem is that every single cushion cover was torn after 2 years - fabric just fell apart. I called them to order the fabric and their customer service agent in Bangladesh (or wherever) told me it was not possible. Worst quality. It looks like garbage and I was warned by a client not to buy from them. I had an Ikea couch that was 10 years old and looked amazing - MdM was a rip off. We are talking €3000 couch.

Don’t buy anything on their website…

Don’t buy anything on their website that you haven’t looked at in their store…

I bought a rug on the Maison Du Monde website. The rug was from a third-party, but it was sold on their website, and the rug I received looks nothing like what was advertised, and both the company and the third-party are absolutely awful about it. Just don’t buy anything from a third-party, or you may be very sorry.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE

I bought a mirror and it was expected to be delivered within 2 weeks. I received an order confirmation email confirming that they work with a courier and the courier will reach out to organise a delivery date. It has been 1 month since my order and I don't have my delivery. When I called the company, they asked me to contact the courier because they have already given it to the courier. When I rang the courier, they said they can't deliver the product to the Netherlands because they only operate in Belgium. Now no one can help me. I am going round and round in circles and there are no solutions. There is no email on the website to reach out for customer service. Only an 'online chat'. Everytime, I use the chat, they keep closing the chat whenever they want to without providing help. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. Do not buy anything from this shop! Save your money and go somewhere else.

Worst Customer Experience ever

On July 3rd, I visited MDM Schoten showroom in Belgium and made a purchase exceeding EUR 1200, of which EUR 986.09 was placed on order. The team assured me that the goods would be delivered within 5 days. However, after waiting nearly two weeks, and no news - I decided to cancel the order. I was informed that by simply refusing delivery, the order would be canceled, and I would receive a refund.

I followed the instructions, but no action was taken. I was unable to reach Maison du Monde team through any communication channels, which forced me to visit your Schoten store in person on a Saturday. There, I was told that the order had not been canceled. After spending an hour trying to resolve the issue, I was assured that I would receive a confirmation of cancellation by Monday. Unfortunately, no confirmation arrived.

After numerous calls and push overs, the store finally confirmed the cancellation and promised a refund within 5 working days. However, today I received a message indicating that the refund would be processed in 10 days.

The customer service at Maison du Monde is ZERO! The staff is not trained nor knowledgeable. The management clearly doesnt care.

The company has no phone number or email for customer service, so you are left at the merci of banging your head on the doors of the store or useless chats that dont work either. And pray to god that you get your money back or your orders on time.

It's a terrible experience. I will never shop at Maison du Monde again.

Complete incompetence

The sold us a broken couch and are unable to send us a replacement. We have spoken with countless customer service agents. All completely unhelpful. Received countless emails. All of this over weeks of back and forth. And now they say the deadline for exchange has passed?? Which deadline. Of the several year warranty! Nobody mentioned this. And we are only taking a long time due to THEIR incompetence. Never again. Avoid.

Stay away from this shop unless you can…

Stay away from this shop unless you can wait weeks. They sell items which are out of stock, displaying on web fake delivery dates, which after your payments immediately change from „1 week” into more than 1 month of waiting, because if 1 item is out of stock, the whole delivery is delayed until it is back - without any information before and any option offered to deliver the rest sooner. Also, during these weeks of waiting, you cannot modify your order simply by adding a new item if you wish = make a new order instead and pay twice for delivery. You cannot merge two different orders in one delivery or to even ask them to deliver same day to make it a bit more comfortable for you = it is supposed it be more comfortable for THEM (or for drivers and delivery companies) not for you. Any questions? Take a day-off to spend an hour in a queue on infoline, just be careful not to pick the time of 3-h lunch break for the hardly working team! Shame on you! My first and most probably last shopping there.

Si Zéro existe, un zéro pointé serait!!

What a service for €3.45, I received conflicted information verbally by the agent in charge of my claim and by email that I am confused, what a bad customer service!!!, if for a so small purchase you loose so much energy what it could be for a huge purchase, I have completely deleted my basket worth few Ks as I am refurbishing a complete renovated house and will find the complete furnishing of 6 bedrooms somewhere else
