SCAMMERS!
I ordered the Irene/warm turtleneck sweater. It was to be made out of ultra soft knitted fabric. The top I received is 100% polyester nothing warm or soft about it. The head opening is so small not sure if it would even fit a babys head. I ask for an address to send it back and I was sent a mumbo jumbo email which you can’t read. They timed it right and sent a sorry for the delay so we would all receive the orders and not be able to read the reviews until now. Also sending a card welcoming me to the family 🙄Well played SCAMMERS!
Misleading product description
I paid 70$ and ordered the “Irene | Warm Turtleneck Sweater” from Maison Ottawa because the product page advertised a cozy knit made with natural, higher‑quality fibers. What I received instead is a cheap‑looking top labeled 100% polyester that does not match the description or photos at all.
When I contacted customer service and showed them the discrepancy, they refused to acknowledge the misleading description and said I could only return the item if I paid about $33 in return shipping. In other words, even though the product was misrepresented, they expect the customer to absorb the cost of their false advertising.
It's a scam :)
The item that I purchased simply does not exist. They were nice and communicative about the shipping, but what I thought I bought was a knitted sweater and what I got was a terrible plastic polyester thing. Their website says all sale items are non-refundable, but all items seem to be in a permanent state of "on sale." They also have a fake Trustpilot score of with a bunch of undoubtedly fake reviews front and centre on their page.
Do NOT order from this online store - EVER!
I am extremely frustrated with this company. Terrible product not as shown or described on the website. Cheap printed fabric not the cozy sweater I expected. I ordered two, one for a friend, and only received one. Customer service via email is ineffective and computer generated. They will not send me return information and refuse to refund my credit card as the item was "on sale" but this is not explicitly stated on the website. I will report this buisiness if this isn't resolved.
I would not even give these fraudsters…
I would not even give these fraudsters one star. I purchased what I believed was a lovely sweater from the photo on the website. What was delivered was a top made out of printed material. They would not return my money because all sales are final. Went back and forth with emails... They would not budge stating I received what was on their website. I've reported them to my bank, the BBB and will fill out a report of fraud on CAFC Canada. They should definitely be shut down.
Big Time Scammers. I can't believe how they are still operating.
These people are crooks.
These people are crooks.
They advertise one thing and deliver another.
Claim the product comes from Europe but it really is China.
Shame on you!
Shame on you!
I did receive “a” top but most definitely not a sweater. And not the one you so eloquently advertised in your ad and on your website.
“Irene may have been a warm and stylish turtleneck sweater … made from an ultra-soft knitted fabric … bringing warmth and confidence to every outfit … 50% organic cotton” at one time in her life, but not today. She is a Temu wanna-be, from China, made of 100% cheap polyester that I wouldn’t have paid $10 for!
A full refund is requested, an apology at the very least.
Worst company ever to order from
Worst company ever to order from. Placed my order November 20,2025 still waiting and it’s now December 18,2025. Their email replies are generic and give you no help. Told them today do their job and find my parcel. Haven’t heard back from them. This company is a scam company as far as I am concerned. No refunds I was told, so out my money and no sweater.
Do not buy false advertising
Do not buy false advertising . Picture looks great but nothing like what you get after months of waiting!
UNLAWFUL SCAMMERS!!!
It took a month to receive! Because according to MILDRED D There was a system error which caused a duplicate order!!!
But the length of delivery time is the least of the problems!
It is NOT knit as the picture portrays, it is more like recycled plastic bags, and the neck opening is so small I couldn’t get my head thru, after much stretching and struggling, I got it on… now I may have to buried in it!!😖 it’s not a store in Ottawa! There is NOTHING CANADIAN about this product or the service!
reviews in the Maison Ottawa site have to be fake! There is no way to leave a review on the actual website! They only refund original priced items and since everything is on sale THEY DONT DO REFUNDS AT ALL!
Of course I requested a refund, I sent pictures of the product and pictures of my head stuck in the neck hole, pictures of the 100% polyester tag..NOT 50% organic cotton as their website claimed, first they tried to say because I ordered the wrong size and the item was on sale No refund is possible, but I could order another item with 30% off!!! Ah NO THANKS! after I once again explained the size was correct the workmanship is poor and the product is not made of materials mentioned on their website. Here is their response:
“Thank you for your message.
We understand that you are unhappy with the item received. After a full review of your order details, the product photos, and the information provided, we confirm that the item delivered matches the product listed on our website. Variations in fabric feel, construction, or appearance can occur due to production batches, lighting, and screen display differences, but this does not constitute false advertising under our policy.
As previously communicated, this item was purchased from our sale collection and is therefore final sale. A full refund is not possible.”
When a website states the “sweater” (more like a plastic bag with a stamped on design) is 50% ORGANIC COTTON, but the tag on the item say 100% POLYESTER, that does constitute ad FALSE ADVERTISING! Also posting FAKE REVIEWS on your website is also against the law! There are a few 5* reviews not one of them has a profile picture… because they are NOT REAL!
“ It is against the law to make materially false or misleading representations to promote a product, service or business interest”
REFUND is required!
Their products are awful
Their products are awful. A sweater just arrived and the neck hole is so small that I cannot fit my tiny head through it. The quality of the sweater is garbage - pure cheap synthetic. It was on sale and they offer no refunds. I had accidently ordered 3 and let them know of my mistake within the hour. I only wanted 1, but they would not take away the other two, just one. I am now stuck with two unwearable sweaters. Do not buy from this company !!!
If I could give zero stars I would
If I could give zero stars I would!
Do not order from this site. I paid $74.95 for a sweater that stayed warm cozy knit sweater 50,% organic cotton. I waited almost 4 weeks to receive order and I was shocked when I opened it. No tags except for small tag 100% polyester made in China. Cheap polyester at that. Looks absolutely nothing as what is pictured on site. Cheap garbage . Scammers . Can't believe I paid 74.95 for something I wouldn't pay$ 10 for at giant Tiger . So angry about this
Not a sweater, poor quality, no refunds
The product we received looks nothing like the photos nor are the descriptions accurate. It is not by any stretch a sweater. The quality of the product is very poor. Its certainly not worth anywhere near the price. Because it's always "on sale" it makes it so their products are not returnable. Would never recommend.
Order never received
I placed an order on October 31 and have not received it yet, on December 13. I have contacted the company multiple times and they have not responded. When I looked up reviews before ordering they were good!
This is a scam
This is a scam! Do not order from this web site. Received 3 sweaters and the quality is so poor that I’m not sure I should even donate to Goodwîll. Also the médium side is more like an extra small. Extremely poor quality.
Maison Ottawa- average experience
I received my order in 2 shipments over three weeks. I didn't find the quality to be as terrible as some reviewers described. My order included 2 sweaters and they were both department store quality-perhaps a bit overpriced. The third item was a plaid coat and it is very light material suitable for spring or early fall casual wear only. The customer service people did respond promptly when I asked questions about the shipment. I am unlikely to order from them again because of the mixed reviews about quality, the return policy, and the prices were a bit high. It's always a risk when shopping online with an unknown vendor. As noted by other reviewers, this is not a brick and mortar shop in Ottawa or anywhere else. Everything is drop shipped from China.
Warning ⚠️
Do not order from this website!! Item I received is nowhere near what was advertised. Definitely a scam site. Wish I’d known about trustpilot before this experience.
Stay away from Maison Ottawa
Delivery greatly delayed, no returns allowed (apparently, my purchases were deemed to be final sale but did not see that caveat anywhere in the messaging), items arrived that were not as advertised in terms of fabrics and little in the way of care instruction. Yes, there was an offer of a credit given to my card but, frankly, I don’t want this business anywhere near it. Interestingly, items arrived in a package with branding for Morgan & Madison United States with an original shipping label from Asia, mostly covered by the local shipper’s label. Judging from tracking messages, these pieces originated outside of Canada, USA and bear a ‘signature’ on the original shipping label that is Asian script. Buyer beware!
Beware …
The site looks like it has a brick and mortar store in Ottawa, they do not. It took 41 days for the item to be delivered, I got suckered it shipped from China. The quality of the item is a joke. Loose threads, seams not finished properly, item does not match picture. Because the item was 10% off I cannot return it. Expensive lesson to learn.
Terrible experience with this store
Terrible experience with this store. They claim items are ‘100% refundable,’ but when you try to return something they suddenly refuse and make excuses. Completely dishonest and feels like a scam. On top of that, their customer service is rude and unhelpful. I would never shop here again.”
