I signed up for the "how to groom your own dog" workshop at Maddie's doodles, with Amber, the owner, and it was great. I have a mixed breed dog, with very soft hair and nervous personality. When I arrived, I immediately felt comfortable but most importantly, my dog was not afraid. That is a very big thing as she was violently shaking before when I took her to an other groomer. Every time. Here she felt at home and it was very easy to work on her hair. Amber walked me through all the steps, very patiently, explained everything to the smallest details, and there was no question she couldn't answer. I didn't feel rushed. When my dog grew a little impatient, Amber gave her a break to run around in the garden, while she explained more things about techniques to me. I also got professionally made video tutorials, which came very handy afterwards.
I am very proud of the result, my dog looks exactly how I like it, and with this guidance I feel confident enough to groom her at home in the future.
This was the most thorough, most detailed and informative workshop I could imagine. And it gives a secure feeling, that I can contact Amber if any question comes up. I can't recommend it enough!
