Unacceptable: charging for cancelled, undelivered order

We chose Maaho because their website promised fast delivery times. On May 20, 2025, we ordered outdoor cushions (JSSTCZLDO). Only after placing the order did we learn that delivery would take 3–5 weeks. This was later postponed in 5-week intervals — twice. At the second delay, I attempted to cancel, which under the Swedish Consumer Purchase Act (Konsumentköplagen) is my clear right in the case of significant delivery delays. Maaho, however, initially refused and kept us “hostage,” preventing us from finding alternatives.

After much pressure, Maaho finally confirmed the cancellation in writing. Despite this, they have since tried twice to withdraw money via Klarna for goods that were never delivered. Both attempts were stopped only after direct intervention with Klarna.

The problem is still not solved. 4 months after the initial order they are still trying to get paid. The payment through Klarna is only paused waiting from confirmation from Maaho, which I don't think will come this time either.

This is not just poor customer service, it is a breach of consumer rights and highly unacceptable business practice. I strongly advise avoiding this company.

This behavior is outrageous and proves that Maaho is not a company to be trusted.

UPDATE!
Since writing my review, Maaho has actually withdrawn 12,860 SEK from my account for the order that was never delivered. When I contacted them, they blamed Klarna, which is absolutely ridiculous considering they have had over two months to stop the payment since confirming the cancellation of the order.

Even worse: Maaho explicitly told me they will no longer help me with a refund because I left them a negative review on Trustpilot. Avoid this company at all costs!

Rock hard pillow and bad customer service

After ordering a pillow online I got a message that delivery would take 2 months. Since that wasn't clear from the website and I didn't want to wait so long, I wanted to cancel the order.

But after sending an email to cancel on the same day I placed the order, I got an email back that this wasn't possible. On top of that I was sending them emails in English but they kept replying in Danish, very rude.

Since I couldn't cancel, I waited for the pillow which got delivered last week. And it's hard as a rock. It's as comfortable as sitting against a wall.

Dealing with Mahoo was an all over disappointing experience.

We used 27 working days to produced and ship your order.
Even this is made to measure we have a goal to do this within 10-15 days. But due to high season we are more busy than usual.

Looks like a European company

I had the feeling this was a Chinese company, as my order got postponed a few times and translations in the emails were a bit bad. But they seem European (I do not like products to be flown in from China piece by piece) so all good. Have not received the product yet though as they seem to have some issues with production

5 weeks later… and nothing

I paid a lot for 2 custom made cushions expecting it would be here for a summer party. Its been over 5 weeks and they keep delaying, saying it will arrive next week, but it never comes. Their tracking service is lousy. Also they make you sign up for their newsletter luring with a 10% discount when in fact later you learn it only applies on selected items. I hope one day my cushions will arrive and never again will I order anything here.

As you mention the delivery time have been way to long on your order, which is not ok and not the delivery time we accept.

The reason for the long delivery time is due to the quality proces in our production. In the fabric you have chosen we found some error, so we need to get new fabric from the weaving company.

We have tried to keep you informed during the proces.

Once again, I am sorry for the delivery time, but I hope the cushion fits you need perfectly.
