Truly one of the nicest guys I ever met. Without exaggeration. Before even discussing his fee he offered a zoom for him to share a sort of pre-final mock up (in other words did work no other illustrator has done without pay up front). This was a subject outside of his bird metier and he was so gracious about emphasizing that I shouldn’t feel any hesitation to just say “nope, this won’t work. Thanks for trying.”

I went out to other illustrators because I was unsure about what he presented but then came back around and asked for another zoom and again it was just a pleasure interacting with him.

After a delay at the printers, no fault of Luke’s, I have now received my prints and I couldn’t be happier with them. Now considering purchasing some more.

My little boy absolutely loves Luke's book, and is enjoying pointing out all the birds that we can also see in our back garden! It's great to see him inspired by nature in this way.
