After paying a year subscription, the company added awful advertising and demanded a one time payment of $10 to remove them. This is not the kind of app I want to do business with. I walked away from... See more

This is a really excellent calorie tracking app. If you pay the minimal annual charge, it's even better. I especially like: that you can quickly log and edit previous meal combinations, save recipes,... See more

I've always used this app along with nutracheck,UK maybe it's because I'm on android and use Google play but you just cancel the subscription when you want to cancel much like anything else.
If you have paid for a year it's a one off payment and you CAN'T cancel and get money back for the months you haven't used I was a returning customer and got I got it for £8.50!
If it's monthly you just cancel the subscription through Google play or you can pause it for a number of months.
On premium I don't get adverts.
Reason android have got better features then apple!
Unless this is the USA version?
The app may be useful, but they force you to take a free trial then you're unable to cancel. If you registerd on their website, the cancel subscription link is broken. Their AI support tells you to log a ticket which send it back to the AI chat, it's like a loop. This is an awful practice and I don't see why anyone would like this app for this reason. I would class this as membership scam.
This app is a scam. They charge you twice and then claim they can’t do anything about it, telling you to go through Apple instead. They took money from my account twice for one order. Lose It blames Apple and provides a procedure to file a complaint that doesn’t even work. Definitely not recommended!
Decided to update my review of 18 months ago as I still can’t believe all the negative comments. I think there must be a difference between the UK (where I am) and US versions. I definitely credit Lose It! for my 2 stone/28lb weight loss, having previously tried other apps and some slimming clubs with no success. The app works on the simple premise of ‘calories in v calories out’ - the essential basic of weight loss. It is very simple to use and the new feature of being able to photograph a meal to get a calorie estimate is so helpful when eating out. The app can be linked with various fitness devices and the forum is great. (Contrary to other reviews I’ve seen helpful and sensitive responses when a person with an apparent eating disorder posts.) I have lifetime membership and can’t recommend Lose It! enough. (No - not affiliated with them in any way 😁.)
It was great until I wished to cancel. They said I could not do it til renewal and then when I tried it wasnt accepted. Even the loseit help center was unable to help. Very Frustrating. Its not alot of money but I dont want it any longer, should be easy to cancel but its NOT! Next step, the Better Business Bureau!
The food items in the App are crowdsourced and there is no check on them so there are errors (e.g., green salad - 20gr of protein). Also, the weight sector gets frozen. I have not been able to enter my weight for weeks now. There is no way to contact customer support to fix the bug for the weight. Yet, I have paid for the year and am already a premium customer.
Auto-renewed and wont offer refund or let me cancel.
Be very careful, it claims to be free, but constantly offers upgrades for a premium, it then renews without notice and is very difficult to cancel,
This was my very first experience with a "nutritional app" and I am so grateful for what it helped me to accomplish. (I lost 20 pounds with it's guidance and education and MY self control.) It is simple, simple, to log food and (I know this may sound silly) appreciate that the site is colorful and has screen options of personalization. The reason for the "less one star" review is because I spent HOURS trying to connect it with Garmin Venu 3, so I could have a "calorie bonus" from my steps and exercise, and I could not get it accomplished. I also learned that the web-site is not "supported," so there were not trouble-shooting helps there and there is no customer service support. For those who are just wanting a super simple and efficient way to log (and learn about) calories and nutrients, and do not need to trouble-shoot a device connectivity issue, this is a great platform.
UPDATE: Became a Lifetime Lose It! member (yay) but still having trouble toggling with my (now) Venu 4 (boo). Also, still no customer service available. Garmin, thankfully, has awesome customer service and I happened to visit with one who uses LoseIt! himself, so he knew the tricks.
I bought the paid version, one time cost of 700 SEK and I’ve used it for two years without ads. A cheap sum to invest in your own health for several years. It’s a good app, I could enjoy more smart ai functionality but I think overall it’s a good app that help me loose weight in a controlled manner.
I got the free app and the bar code scanner worked until recently. Now you have to pay a membership fee in order to get the barcode scanner to work. Too many annoying ads too.
Like the app, could use a thing or two but otherwise it is great for tracking
On the whole, I've been happy with this app. While I've always been mindful of the number of calories I consume, I've learned a lot about the importance of macronutrients and having approximately a third of your calories be counted as protein, a third for fat, and a third for carbohydrates. It was also helpful to be given the number of calories to consume to lose weight and reach my goal. The one suggestion I have is that supermarket brands could be updated to expand upon what items fall under a brand name and introduce new mainstream brands. The same would apply to restaurants as far as menu items, etc.
I use it for years now. Also owned a premium version. It was amazing with helping me with my sugar levels in pregnancy and now it became a way of life. I added my recipes and products and dieting in a healthy way has never been easier. I also recommend it to my followers.
Very unreliable… supposed verified information just means that somebody entered the nutritional information… that’s never checked. I entered a bunch of bogus information to test and it said it was a verified meal! Not to mention these people who make this bad app are like cash-strapped beggars on the street, the advertising and begging money every single say is over the top. Read the scary reviews at the Better Business Bureau (they don’t give refunds and make it impossible to cancel) and avoid this colossal waste of money.
I have used the app for over a year and lost 65 pounds. It does a great job of letting me have indulgent days and still stay on track. I love the calories & macros as well as how my fitness watch integrates into my calorie count. I have lost 50 pounds every 5 years of my adult life and have confidence that I finally understand how to sustain my current weight loss permanently.
This is a fabulous app! It makes setting goals easy, the food database is huge and it is easy to add your own foods and tailor your diet and exercise plan to suit your lifestyle. It gives you a sound understanding of impact of various foods and the macronutrients in graphs, which very much helps you learn from what you eat to adjust your diet accordingly. IMO, the android experience is far better than iOS format as it is easier to add, edit and delete foods.
I've not had a customer service interaction, but I can say it is worth holding out for offers before committing to paid plans - but the paid plans are totally worth it if you are serious about tracking. I do think some refinement could be done to ensure consistency with goal forecasting as I'm getting a different date when logging (day streak forecast) to that in my goals section by about 5 weeks. 28 days in and 6kg lost, I'm making far more informed choices about my food, fasting and keeping to a calorie budget which is going to be long term sustainable for me.
In terms of individualising baseline calorie goals, I think in the sign up process there was a link to a calorie needs calculator based on age, activity level etc, that was very helpful, but I couldn't find it again. This should be made more prominent to help people understand their calorie needs are perhaps less (or more) than the 2000kcal adult average so they can tailor their plans to their individual needs better.
The app calculated that I could have a modest weight loss of a pound per week at 1400 calories per day. Now that I’m eating 200 calories over a minimum of 1200 per day, I’m steadily gaining weight. This is garbage.
