Cover design was stressing me out but somewhere in between Olivia Judson gave input and suddenly it all clicked... looks amazing now.

I was sitting on my manuscript for over a year because I had no clue where to start with publishing. Every company I looked at felt either too corporate or too sketchy. Then I found London Book Publisher. From the first conversation, I could tell these guys were different. They kept it real with me no fancy promises, just honest guidance. They handled the stuff I didn't understand, respected my vision, and delivered something I'm genuinely proud of. My book is finally out there, and honestly, I couldn't have done it without them.

I never thought I would actually publish a book. I had the manuscript sitting on my laptop for nearly two years, always finding excuses too busy, too expensive, too complicated. Honestly, I was terrified of getting it wrong.

A friend recommended London Book Publisher, and from the first conversation, I felt like I was in good hands. They didn't overwhelm me with jargon or pressure me into services I didn't need. Instead, they listened. They asked what I wanted for my book, what my budget was, and what success looked like to me.

The process was smoother than I ever expected. Every time I had a question and I had many someone was there to answer within hours, not days. The cover designer sent me three concepts, and when I wanted to mix elements from two of them, they did it without hesitation. The result was better than I could have imagined.

Holding my finished book for the first time was emotional. The print quality, the paper, the way the cover caught the light it felt real. It felt like something I could be proud to share with my family, my readers, and the world.

If you have a story inside you, do not let fear hold you back. London Book Publisher gave me the confidence and support I needed to finally cross the finish line. I will be forever grateful.

Initial communication was excellent. Everyone was friendly, reassuring, and full of promises. Unfortunately, the service never matched the sales pitch.

This project has now been running for several months. I was originally promised it would take only a few weeks for a 10,000 word book with simple formatting requirements. Nearly five months later, I have been left with delays, repeated mistakes, ignored feedback, and no real sense of urgency at any stage.

As soon as I was told the book had been uploaded to retail platforms, I immediately ordered 20 copies because I had seen the final proofs eventually, and all of the errors had been corrected. When the book arrived they were unusable. The text sat too close to the spine so could not be read unless you pulled the pages apart, and the cover was misaligned. I had already started promoting the book, only for it to be taken down from the platforms because of these errors. I then started receiving messages from people saying they cannot order the book.

When these problems arose, the explanations kept changing. First Amazon was blamed. Then their staff were blamed. Then, when the wrong cover appeared on the book. Even I was actually asked if I had done anything on the platforms. That was astonishing.

I raised issues clearly and repeatedly. My feedback was responded to after much delay. The issues I flagged were fixed at one stage, but later reappeared without explanation. I was repeatedly told that staff had been replaced and that things would now improve, but the same problems continued.

What made matters worse was the lack of urgency and the constant attempts to upsell additional services before existing issues had been resolved. It is unacceptable to keep trying to sell more work when the original work has not been completed properly. I lost count of the number of times I had to chase and then I would be asked if i received their email. When I said no, they said they would resend it, which they did several hours later or the following day.

I currently have two books in (progress) with this company, and I have very little confidence that either will be completed correctly. I now fully expect to lose more money as a result.

For context, last week I gave a brief to another company for a 70,000 word book with complex formatting requirements. That book was formatted and published to KDP and IngramSpark within a week. This only highlights how poor the handling of my projects has been here.

This has been stressful, costly, and unacceptable. I have catalogued everything and will probably be sharing it with my solicitor next week. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others not to go anywhere near this company.

This is the first time I have written an unfavourable review for anyone before but I's not fair I let other experience the same losses.

London Book Publisher offered marketing advice that felt aligned with my genre thanks to input from Olivia Judson. The suggestions were practical and easy to apply.

I am not the person to usually write bad reviews, but in this case, this is a warning that I wish I would have had before deciding to choose LBP as the publisher to handle my book.
For a few years I have been working at a collection of poetry and by the end of November 2025 I did finish putting the creations together.
I also found the fonts, did the front and back cover in Adobe PS by myself, did the inside design, decided on the size and did the correction for half of it, for the Romanian bit, because the book is a bilingual anthology of RO-ENG. Thus, I only needed someone to proof-read the English volume (under 150 pages of lyrics) and to publish the book.
I must say that it was a horrific experience from the beginning until the end.

I have been working with them side by side at this project, spending many hours outside of work and EVEN at work to make sure that it will be perfect, but it was by far that. Every time they were saying that they are busy that they have many other books to look after, thus I suggest that if you want to be prioritized is best to find someone else.
I have sympathy for people, because someone can be burned out or have many projects going on at the same time, but NATHAN was the worst project manager I have ever met, he lack in listening skills, time-management and at times was deceiving with me…I had to repeat myself countless times and to stress out how important every detail is only the end result to be disappointing. I have sympathy for everyone but if you cannot manage a project successfully, please leave other people who are more competent to do it because someone (in this case myself) pays for a service 500£ and the value of what you provide much much more less than that.

LBP surely does not realise all the time invested in saving money for publishing the book, in saving money for booking the gallery to invite the friends, in the fact that the work is being read by teachers, managers, accountants, people from all sorts of domains.
Does not acknowledge the effort put in creating the design of the book, front and back cover in staying many night until late to check after them…LBP clearly did not show any sympathy for how much anxiety and stress they caused with their incompetence.
I have complained to Mr Jhon, then to Frank on 26th of Jan, and they are fully aware of this case. Because I am an understanding human being and I acknowledge their time I have asked for a partial refund. Yet it’s been 30+ days since Frank told me that the complaint department was informed and NOTHING was received, no UPDATE, no text, no email…Clearly showing disrespect and that they are only after receiving the money, but do not care for the quality of what they do.
I have proofs for all the wrongs they did (including missing the deadline, publishing the book with spelling mistakes, not listening to the instructions given, deceiving) on the basecamp platform and on WhatsApp, so feel free to reach out to me personally if you would like to find out more before convincing yourself to look for a publisher for your book somewhere else.
If you want to publish a book with no mistakes, in a timely fashion (within a deadline) and be supported by an understanding team that has respect for the work you are doing for your time and for the money you saved to invest in them, then please spare yourself stress and anxiety and DO NOT CHOOSE LBP.

Service: 1 star (they published the book with mistakes, didn't respect the deadline, awful customer support)

Ethics: 1 star (still after 30+ days of raising the complaint not even one message was sent)

I do not like writing negative reviews, but this is me doing others a favor, because I wish I would have had this information before choosing them and having the memory of publishing a book tainted with anxiety and stress.
