Sent the initial deposit of 50 percent…

Sent the initial deposit of 50 percent (31,000) for a supposedly fast shipping of 90 days. Took 90 days to even get a preliminary drawing. Which was crudely done. Then told would be almost a year before materials would be shipped. And after deposit was provided they also claimed I need to pay an additional 100 percent of the original package (62,000) to get engineering plans and shipping. Basically they make it so you have to cancel so they just keep your deposit.
Luckily It's a layaway contract. Buyer has rights to refund under North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 25 § 25-2-718

Bad Log Company

This company takes a significant amount of money as a way to lock you in to buying their logs. Then when something happens, like the economy tanks, or you can find a contractor, you lose all that money and they do not care. I am a veteran that paid my 10%. I have lost all that money because I couldn't find a contractor that would build this house for a reasonable price. All wanted between $350,000 to $800,000 to build the 2500 square foot log home and that did not include the price of the logs or shipping the logs to the site. The company gave me a list of trusted contractors and I contacted three. All three had outrageous pricing. I contacted my own list of contractors provided by the Better Business Bureau and most of the contractors never returned our calls. If you decide to use them, read the contract very carefully. They don't appear to care what your circumstances are, they will keep your money.
