My advice to all would be deal DIRECTLY with Locauto

We originally had a car booked through europcar in Milan, but when we turned up they refused to rent us the car, terrible customer service.
We then went to Locauto in Como, the team there are simply amazing and could not do enough for us and made sure we had a car, explained everything and even tried to find ways to save us money. Quite simply if you are looking to rent a car in Italy we highly recommend locauto.

I’ve rent s car from Venezia and returned Sunday to Como (leaving keys in the box as the office was closed).
Next day I received email from the office that sounded very scammy. Judge yourselves, this is official message from Locauto:

” Dear Customer,
We regret to inform you that after the return of the vehicle FIAT PANDA 1.0 FIREFLY 70CV HYBRID, with plate GY856SR, from the rental VE 13912, our staff found new damages, not on the car at pick up time and related to this rental.

These are the details of the new damage:Cerchi e Pneum/Rims and Tyres - Graffio Grave / Serious Scratch - Coppa ruota/Plastic rims / According to our General and Special Rental Conditions, we will issue a damage invoice based on the official Damage Matrix (where applicable)
After 48 hours from receipt of this email, if no payment is received, we will proceed and charge the credit card provided as rental guarantee”

No prove, no photos were attached to the email!

I think Locauto tries to scam customers. The amount is not that big to start a dispute and you have only 48h before they charge you!

I have disputed this claim(I have all the photos before I took the car and after I returned) but I really advise everyone stay away from this company. Their business is a bit shady.

Edit: please read Google’s reviews. It seems Locauto tries to systematecly scam tourists. A lot of cases where Locauto tries to claim for non existant damages

Edit II: can’t reply to Locauto’s comment, so here - I dropped the car when the office was closed. I was naive to trust that you check the car condition be trustworthy. Like I said, Locauto never provided ANY evidence of the damage. Note, I have photos when I returned the car and there was no damage nor whatsoever! But, good luck with scamming tourists.

We had a very positive experience renting a car from LockAuto. Picking up the car was smooth and hassle-free — the representative was clear, professional, and spoke excellent English, which made the whole process easy to understand.

Debit cards accepted. No deposits.

The cars themselves were in good condition, clean, and exactly what we needed for our trip.

Returning the car was just as simple — very quick and straightforward with no issues at all.

Overall, we didn’t encounter any problems and would definitely recommend LockAuto to anyone looking for a reliable car rental service !

The rental process was easy and fast, return at Malpensa Airport, the quiosk at the returning parking lot was closed, but has a sign informing you to bring the car keys to the Locauto location at the rental area inside of the Airport. Drove a small hybrid car was a good and economic option. This is the second time I rent a car with Locauto when I go to Italy, they didn't offer the transponder to use on the toll roads, other than that, is a good experience.

Great service, very polite, kind and responsive staff, they waited outside of working hours while we sorted out the documents. The car was great, no complaints. I recommend it with both hands! I have no complaints

The rental experience was perfect!
This was my first time renting a car in Europe. The online check in made things so smooth, and all the workers in both Como and Siena were so polite and helpful.

Avoid LocAuto at All Costs - Classic Tourist Scam Operation

If I could give zero stars, I would. LocAuto is running a blatant damage scam targeting tourists, and I'm one of many victims.

After returning the rental car in the same condition it was received, I was hit with a fraudulent damage claim of 720 EUR for marks that were not present when I dropped it off. Thankfully, I had already read reviews warning of this exact scam and took time-stamped photos and videos of the car at drop-off -- proving the vehicle was returned without further damage.

This is not an isolated incident -- a quick glance at reviews reveals a disturbing pattern of LocAuto inventing damage after the fact, assuming tourists won't fight back.

Let me be clear: this company operates with zero integrity. Their practices are deceptive, aggressive, and designed to exploit travelers unfamiliar with the area or process. They are not to be trusted.

I've disputed the charge with my bank, filed a complaint, and I strongly advise anyone considering LocAuto to look elsewhere. There are plenty of legitimate car rental companies that don't rely on trickery and fabricated fees to make money.

Save yourself the headache. Avoid LocAuto like the plague.

Your systematic not supporting either English or Arabic ( your reports ) ,price much different than onther companies and you don’t have whatsapp in case of support needed.
