I called Local Financial Advice
I called Local Financial Advice not for advice what to invest in, but how to establish a self custody, online brokerage platform where I could keep long-term US stocks while living in the UK and could eventually bequeath to my daughters living in the US.
I knew that the specific information I required would need to be provided by an impartial advisory service as I obviously would not be investing with them or any possible associates. After writing my requirements on their questionnaire, Local Financial Advice said it would take some time but they would find an advisor who would contact me. It took about three weeks but they did message me every week to advise me that they were still looking. When the advisor did contact me, it was on the phone and we talked. He knew what I was looking for and provided me with 4 online self-custody brokerage sites to investigate.
Local Financial Advice did not set-up or establish the investment platform I’m looking for, but they provided the addresses of 5 organisations that very probably could. I rate them honest, willing to help and true to their word.

Informative telephone meeting
As totally unsure about equity release the advisor gave us clear and understandable advice. He spoke with us on the telephone for a considerable length of time explaining various options with the option of a personal visit should we wish to continue with our application. It was an informative experience and well presented.
