Not a fan…

First of all the books are not cheaper than amazon. They advertise the book club like your getting the books for 9.99 then you get your box with a separate bill for all the books and it totals to $40 or more. Your paying 9.99 to rent books if you don’t decide to buy. .. every month your subscribed. In my portal there was no way to skip a box so I was charged before returning my current box. When I went to cancel they don’t refund your for the subscription charge, even if you didn’t get a box for it. So I paid 9.99 for nothing?! Do not recommend.

After reading some of the review…

After reading some of the review comments right after I signed up for subscription, i decided to cancel the account. It was less than an hour between the signup and the cancellation but they said the first order is already placed so that I cannot cancel the first shipment. When i looked at my account detail, the first order will be shipped within 2 weeks, so I would think they have not started assembling anything yet, again its less than an hour ago when I ordered. I am not happy about this at all, never try something like this again.

THEY ARE THIEVES!!!

THEY ARE THIEVES!!!! I Emailed and got a response to cancel my subscription even though I cancelled it myself online i wnted to make sure it was really cancelled. The rep confirmed and I saw money taken out my account again. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A SCAM!!!!!

Repetitive themes, books; Unhelpful customer service

I had this subscription for 7 months. Initially, the application wouldn't save my child's preferences, so I was receiving themes we didn't want and repetitively. I was finally able to change the themes but received multiple of the exact same Color Me book series with different titles, and ultimately the variety of books was awful. The literati team wasn't helpful. I highly recommend trying other book subscriptions. This one is expensive and dissatisfying.

Such a scam

Such a scam ! They make it seem like you get five books a month for 9.99 then they bill you an extra hundred for the books! Don’t do it !

Your set up for failure, stay away…

Thought it was a good idea seemed pretty straightforward and looked forward to expanding my daughter's home library.
Pay to have books shipped to you and only pay for the ones you want to keep and send the rest back, simple.
Unfortunately, was nothing of the sort. Ordered our first box after almost 2 weeks waiting and not having any updates on the package after a couple days I cancelled it was clear we were not getting this package at this point.
I started looking up reviews most of them were glowing on Facebook until I realized they don't allow you to post a review. (Red Flag one.)
Started looking around Google and REALLY had to look for anything negative at all and dig pretty deep. (Red Flag two.)
Of the negative reviews on Facebook people had the same issue I had not getting their packages and being over charged for the books they didn't want after sending them back or not ever recieveing them (which REALLY concerned me).
When cancelling you have to talk to a service rep. Where they try to upsell you and give you reasons to stay and after the first attempt I thought I was clear I wanted the service cancelled. Nope. Took me threatening to report to Better business to cancel the service during a second attempt and even while I was giving them feedback where they could see I was typing they cut me off and ended communications after ASKING ME FOR FEEDBACK!
They couldn't tell me where my package was just that it was in transit. I asked for a refund. Nothing. Their excuse was that the postal service was slow and under staffed but I've made countless orders from other small businesses and they would tell me upfront if they've had postal issues and could at least track down the order for me or tell me what was going on. Smaller businesses even insure your package for a bit extra to make sure it's going to get to you and for almost $10 I would assume a well advertised business like Literati would do so as well as a standard. (Like Amazon.)
I was wrong.
For a small business that can afford a customer service representative team, advertisements on multiple social media websites they can't at the very least make sure you get your packages or at the very least not over charged you for the books you don't want and had already sent back.
They did assure me that I would have a week to send back the books I received after actually recieveing my package but given that it has taken almost 2 weeks to even get my box why would I feel comfortable at all sending them back just to be charged if they don't receive the books back within a week? You are doomed for failure at the start and they really set you up for it too.
There are plenty reviews I found of people sending back books they didn't want and were charged anyway and went to refund their purchases after the fact only to be denied the refund.
Very sketchy, frankly, I feel dumb falling for it and I will just be visiting the book store every weekend.

Very unreliable service, bad customer experience

We started the Literati subscription in June. The box arrived within the month of June, we kept 1 book out of bunch, only to find out later that it's 40% more expensive than if we just bought it off Amazon. That's fine. Came July, they took payment for July but nothing was delivered. I reached out to them on 7/31 since that's literally the last day of July and I've received nothing. The customer service argued with me extensively over an email thread, claiming this is normal (to take payment and not deliver), eventually I had to lodge a complaint with the Business Bureau before Literati came back and refunded my July payment. They eventually ship me my July box in August first week. Now come August, today is 8/31, again, no box in sight. This is the 2nd consecutive month that this has happened and despite their customer service claiming that the July episode was an one off. Very unreliable service, bad customer service and the prices of the book isn't always cheaper. So please do your homework and check up the prices before you decide to get a book from them

dishonest company

signed up for subscription .Had 7 days to review book but got charged in 2 days . They compared price to amazon but books were cheaper on amazon . Plus you need to make a monthly fee $15 and they dont discount the monthly fee you pay full price for books plus a monthly fee . Just stick with amazon . These sites are slick and dishonest upfront .

Not worth the price

We got a gift card for Literati for my son's birthday. We had never heard of it, but it sounded cool. I think it is way overpriced. You pay $10 just to get a box. Then if you want all the books, another $50 or more. My son did not like all the books in the box. We only kept 2. Then I cancelled it.

It's a game changer for your family!

We really can't say enough about how incredible our Literati subscription has been. It has brought our children a whole new reading experience, and as their mother, nothing brings me more joy than watching them learn! It takes all the guessing out of what books to choose - I highly HIGHLY recommend!

So much fun!

The subscription boxes are so much fun! What a better way to build your child's home library than with a monthly order with specially curated books! We've loved all of the books so far and best yet, they've been best sellers!

Best book club ever

Best book club ever! We love getting our monthly packet in the mail and my daughter enjoys opening up the box to see what books she can read next! Also this was the beat thing during quarantine! We love books.

Would definitely recommend this…

Would definitely recommend this subscription, they choose five age-appropriate books for you every month that are priced matched or better to Amazon! We love all the books that we’ve received so far, it’s been so helpful for building a library for a daughter.

Great even for reluctant readers

Literati has been such a fun addition to our home! Even my reluctant reader (9 years old) is excited to read when the box arrives each month!

It has been an awesome way to build our home library with some titles that this homeschool mama might not have naturally reached for! Totally recommend!

My kids love getting their books each…

My kids love getting their books each month from Literati. When my older son sees the box on the doorstep he gets super excited about the selections that were chosen for him. We also love the beautiful picture posters in each box. We have them in frames and on the kids walls.
