Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 149 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the high prices and the condition of the products, frequently reporting broken bikes, flat tires, or issues with the electric assistance. Customers also found the service to be poor, with unhelpful responses to complaints and difficulties in resolving payment disputes. Reviewers often mentioned problems with parking locations and the presence of "no-ride zones" that made the service impractical in many areas. The payment system was a significant source of frustration, with people experiencing unexpected charges, difficulties canceling monthly fees, and issues with refunds. Some people also felt that the bikes were a public nuisance, often left inappropriately parked and causing inconvenience or damage.

Evasive and unhelpful

Customer service seem to enjoy answering completely different questions from the ones you’ve asked, repeatedly. I feel as though they’re just being sarcastic at this point.

Horrible company

This company is actually the worst all around. Their customer service is the worst I have ever seen. Completely dodge questions and will not resolve issues with their bikes that literally do NOT work at all.

Over Charged.. this is called stealing...

I was enjoying my ride, about 2 hours in the bike shut down. I recall the app charging a fee if not returned to a docking station, so I paid the $8.00 fee to return the bike to the location where I picked it up from. As I was returning it, the message stated that I was not able to return it to the exact location that I picked it up from. Now reviewing my bank statement, I was charged $8.71 and a 2nd fee of $45.15. LIME, I'll never use your service ever again. POOR customer service.

Time to improve

Getting worst. You ride, you get charged, and one day afterwards the charged amount changes to triple of the price you where initially charged for. I believe this a big Lime scam. I used the bike to drive for literally few meters, I was charged £2.75, which I believe is fine. However 24 hours after a message comes your ride price was adjusted to £6.71. Just doesn't add up. I really believe Lime is screwing us, literally!!

The bikes are faulty, the rubber leaves your fingers black, you can't even wash it off. Most of the time the bikes are faulty, pedals not spinning properly, etc... I could talk a lot.

Lime bikes = FRAUD

I actually have second hand embarrassment from how bad this service is 😂 at this point it’s genuinely fraud because the bikes simply don’t work. They used to be brilliant but within the last two months it’s abysmal! I was living in London, all the bikes constantly had an issue - missing pedals, app glitches so u couldn’t end the ride, punctured wheels, everything!

I just moved to France, the bikes here are in one piece but labelling them as electric is just a lie! There’s no power in them whatsoever and it’s actually harder to cycle because the bike itself is so heavy!

I have spent hundreds of euros on lime bikes and when the service started disimpoving I complained multiple times, but obviously this company has no value for customer satisfaction. I will never use this service again

Terrible

Terrible! Took me like 5 broken bicycles to find a normal one, and even then, got charged extra 13£ which I still haven’t received back. RIP OFF!!! Never again 👎🏻 And the worst part is that the 10£ transaction that was supposed to be “on hold” and sent back immediately is hidden from payment history!!! Very clever.

Ridiculous rates

Ridiculous rates. Online all you can get is that you are billed anywhere from 15 cents a minute to 30 cents. But was charged a total of 55 bucks for 45 minutes. It also pops up to save you money on the rate and tricks you into doing the cheaper rate when you then get charged for double what you should have! This is a total rip off scamming company!

Absolute scum of the earth

Absolute scum of the earth. If you use their bikes, pray you don't have an issue, because if you do you'll have to deal with their useless customer support (call centre in India of course) who will fail to respove your issue.

Today was the last straw - i got charged £4.93 for a ride that was supposed to come from minutes that were refunded to me due to their last incompetence. Of course thyy f'd that up as well, so i was charged. A***holes.

"bug" will overcharge your rides

I had good experience but recently all my rides have failed to stop, causing my rides to charge me a lot of money, to which Lime has not answered. They are stealing their customers money and pretending it is a bug in their app.

They trick you with their lime pass

They trick you with their lime pass. It has dark UX and only mentions unlimited free unlocks which you think your rides are free. After your purchase, you see that it is only discounted minutes.

Lime charged me multiple times for a…

Lime charged me multiple times for a bike that never worked. I sent them countless screenshots over three days, yet they keep saying they “can’t find” the charges — while still taking more money from my account.
Now they are asking for my card expiration date and other private information, which is absolutely unacceptable and unsafe. This is not how a legitimate company should operate.
This experience has completely ruined my trip and my trust in Lime. I strongly warn others to be careful — you might end up paying for nothing and fighting for your money back.

LIME BIKE IS A SCAM

This is the worst thing to pay for and add your card information to because it is so confusing and it will take so much extra money which they will never give you back. First off all they do not tell you clearly about the subscriptions you will be paying for and do not tell you clearly about the the lime subscription which is NOT FOR UNLIMITED RIDES IN THE MONTH FOR FREE.
Also they just take your money randomly. Also if you buy minutes for lime rides you must use it in the same day and it will expire if it is not used. This is obscured as you have payed for time of use on a lime bike and should be able to use it anytime or at least within the month.

This is the worst and please DO NOT ADD ANY CARD INFORMATION TO USE LIME.

VERY unclear app. Extortionate prices

VERY unclear. Poor service. Felt scammed.
Paid for a bundle 60minutes. Used it for myself and friend. Was then charged the bundle AND DOUBLE for friend. Unclear. It didn't say the bundle didn't apply to second person. Deactivated app and deleted account. Will not use again and will not recommend to friends.

Can’t see no-parking zones till in one

Never quite know where the no parking zones are for these bikes and scooters! It is only when I park that it will tell me I can’t.
Also, was riding through the Edmonton River Valley and ended up in a no parking zone and so I had to pedal the very heavy bike through 500 m without warning. We don’t know where there’s no parking areas are until we are in them!?! Neuron is their competition and as soon as I stirred up the app for Neuron. It shows where all the no parking zones are.
Cost me a lot of time on a few occasions. Can’t figure out how to pre-plan my trip without this very basic information.
Please smarten up LIME.
