I have been working for this company for a relatively short time (as a freelancer), but have only very good experiences. All the staff members are polite, helpful and professional with excellent responsivity. Also their dashboard is very easy to use and understand. I hope that we will have a long co-operation.

LILT is a good company

LILT is truly one of the best companies with a great payment system. The project team is very cohesive and consistently delivers a number of tasks each week. The support team is also responsive, quickly resolving my payment issues with efficiency and practical solutions. They are very open about any problems and always provide clear explanations.

Poor MVP that push improvement cost to translators

Lilt MT accuracy/performance is not bad itself,
but there are too many incomplete feature and UI performance as a SaaS,

- Too many input/display bug
for double byte languages (in my case, Japanese)
- Too slow loading
I once received around 10K words source, Lilt loading was chaotic. This app can only handle up to 3K source English equivalent.
- Useless QA.
QA is really useless, should open in different tab, not a pop up window, sometimes it contains more than 1K entries of most of which are meaningless, only latin language focused false positive errors.

Simply, this app is not at commercial level. They just release it to the market to force translators bear the bug hunt cost. This is a worst minimum viable product. I suggest the developer company should look into it more in depth, otherwise I am sure this app will be expelled from the market, there are many other reasonable and well-performing SaaS apps around. No reason to stick onto this Lilt, I won't recommend the client either.

Worst agency, payment, and PMs

I’ve been working with them for roughly five years. They used to be one of the best agencies — prompt with payments and professional in every way. Unfortunately, they’ve now become one of the worst. Their payment policy is unclear and unfair, and I now receive roughly one-third of what I earn for the same work at other agencies. The PMs and overall communication have also deteriorated badly. In the past, I would get responses within hours or at least within 24 hours; now, I wonder if they even have project managers who read emails.

Many projects come with extremely tight deadlines, forcing you to work anywhere, anytime — and they can suddenly cancel the job midway without paying you. It’s sad to see how they’ve transformed from one of the most freelancer-friendly agencies into one of the most exploitative-capitalist and non-ethical ones.

Dont work for Lilt if you want to get…

Dont work for Lilt if you want to get paid. I worked for them as a freelance linguist for almost two years. Apart from lots of unaddressed technical issues with their platform, they recently lured me into manual translations for "AI training" with a triple per word rate. I had to realize that this was for the FIRST job only. The following manual translations will be paid with the much lower review rate. Then their payment provider Payoneer closed my account and now for almost two weeks no response from Lilt. They owe me around 2000 dollars with instalments overdue.

My experience with Lilt was quite disappointing

Beware of Lilt, Inc.! I worked diligently for them, putting in hours of effort, only to be left without payment. Not only did they fail to compensate me for the services I provided, but they also displayed a complete disregard for my time and effort. They consistently evaded my inquiries and conveniently 'forgot' about their financial commitments. This company's lack of integrity is appalling, and I urge anyone considering working with them to think twice.
