Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience. This was the first time in Dubai that we faced such a serious mold problem in a rented flat despite having lived here for the past 4 years and living in 6 different flats. The mold was not limited to one area — it appeared in the bathroom, AC, fridge, wardrobe, washing machine. We reported it several times, tried to deal with it ourselves, did mold tests but the company’s response was minimal and not enough to solve the problem that remained until our last day there

Instead of allowing us to end the contract early, we were only offered a different apartment at an extra cost. We also had belongings damaged and had to throw away some clothes with no compensation offered. Overall this caused a huge amount of stress and was handled very poorly. I was also very concerned to see changes in my health (inc blood & urine results) during this period which made the situation even more alarming. I would strongly advise others to be careful

Be very careful with this company

Be very careful with this company. At the beginning, we started renting with AHL and everything was very smooth. They were very friendly and we didn’t have any problems at all.
After two or three months, this company ,Dar Al Zain Vacation Home Rental (the registered name), also known as Like Home (their commercial name and website), bought AHL, and that’s when all the problems started.
First of all, they wanted to increase the rates significantly, in addition to charging extortionate fees. But the worst part is dealing with the two ladies there: Beatrice, who describes herself as the manager’s right hand and best friend, and Kamile.
Kamile is in charge of coordinating a specific area or buildings. I believe that since she had just joined the company, she felt the need to prove she could handle the role. In reality, she had no knowledge of the market, contracts, or anything related to real estate, which led to many mistakes and very arrogant behavior.
We lived in the apartment for a year and always paid on time. After eight or nine months, she showed up at my apartment on a Saturday night at 10 p.m. without prior notice, after sending me at least 15 SMS messages asking for the monthly payment when I have never been late with a payment, and on Friday I had already told her that I would pay on time and I was still within the payment period.
I left the apartment immaculate, as I am very particular about cleanliness and order. However, she accused me of stealing a quilt that I had actually taken to a cleaning company because it was dirty and had yellow stains. After it was cleaned, I placed it on top of the cupboard. She couldn’t find it and accused me of stealing it which, in the UAE, is a serious legal accusation. Obviously, after i had explained to her where it was, she found it.
They also refused to provide spare blankets, and during the winter I didn’t have time to dry them properly because there was no dryer in the apartment.
On top of that, she deducted money from my deposit for an iron that I never used, since I always used a cleaning service, as well as for other minor issues.
I explained all of this to Beatrice in a very polite manner. After staying there for a full year and always paying on time, I expected to be treated with basic respect. However, her response was extremely disrespectful.
So please do not trust this company. They will do anything to avoid reimbursing your deposit, and they will treat you very poorly.

I would NEVER recommend Like Home /Dar…

I would NEVER recommend Like Home /Dar Al Zain Vacation Home based on my personal experience.

Communication was inconsistent and unprofessional, and became significantly worse when I attempted to terminate my contract due to serious pest infestation (including cockroaches and maggots) in the building and my apartment. Despite submitting clear evidence and following up repeatedly, no action was taken.

They eventually entered my apartment without prior notice or my presence for pest control, a clear breach of basic tenant rights. When I was no longer able to find a solution through email or WhatsApp, I went in person to their office. The General Manager treated me with clear disrespect, and again, nothing was resolved.

To date, I still have no written response to my termination e-mail, and no justification has been provided for withholding my security deposit. I have offered to return the parking card and complete the process properly, yet there has been no accountability or follow-through.

Tenants should be extremely cautious; document everything, demand confirmations in writing, and be aware that this agency does not appear to follow fair practice when it comes to hygiene issues, legal notice, or refunds.

Do NOT rent from this agency.

If there was an option I'd put in all the footage.

Stay far far away leasing through this…

Stay far far away leasing through this agency like home by dar al Zain - they will try to charge extortionate fees which are illegal.

I have contacted my lawyer and advise anyone else to do that same-
who’s deposit was not refunded or got charged extortion fees from what is legal or are being charged fees on renewals.

RDC is your support report them do not allow them to get away with how they are treating you and taking you money.

This is the only way agencies like this will not continue to get away with their illegal dealings.

I stayed here

I stayed here, everythings whas ok at first except the rooms not being 100%. When I left I cleaned everything , did not leave anything behind. We are a month further, and they still dont wanna give me my security Deposit money back. This place is not fair!!

Avoid at all costs

So difficult to move in! Security wouldn’t allow us to move in our clothes and kitchen food! Parking barrier opened at first then wouldn’t and each time we had to go into reception to prove we lived here! Despite paying a lot of money to move here! Terrible service, rude and very unprofessional security staff….go anywhere else but here

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. From the point of moving in, countless problems. Apartment a bit shabby. Gas didn't work. No access card for the building so locked out repeatedly. All annoying. What is basically fraud though is when they didn't pass back security deposit inventing a load of 'issues' with the apartment which were already there.
