Had a soliciting text message pretending to be friendly trying to get me to post on the site. Wasn't born yesterday. If you need to beg for people to post on your site your probably not very good

They aren't good if they have to beg for posts

My van ia for sale on Ebay and I was sent some random message from a supposed caring viewer telling me ti try this site and that i would get the asking price for my van.
It was quite obviously someone associated with this site trolling for buisness and being dishonest in their approach..
WARNING to others
We fell for the text after putting van on Gumtree suggesting we advertise on this site.
Since then we’ve had numerous enquires all showing interest and then asking for vehicle report to be bought by us at our cost and sent to them they send a link to these ‘sites’ Please DO NOT, fall for it appears a lot of these vehicle check sites aren’t genuine, double & triple check before doing anything on these vehicle check sites

As with other reviewers received a spam email masquerading as a potential buyer on my e bay account. Nothing stating who they are. Avoid
I feel I have been scammed
I feel I have been scammed. I received an SMS shortly after listing my camper from someone pretending to be a contact. The van community means that I do have random contacts out there who would send me this type of message.
As I was looking for a quick sale, I explored the option and decided to give it a try. The listing attracted less than a third of the footfall of the market leaders and didn't generate a single lead.
I did get a successful sale through Autotrader- don't waste your money on these guys.
Terrible underhanded sales tactics from these guys. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. Avoid.

Receiving the same spam messages as others. Will stay well away from selling on here if that’s their dishonest approach to attracting customers

Another fake message on FB Marketplace
So i ALSO have just received a DM on my facebook market place advert saying - 'Id recommend putting this up on lifewithavan.com, to be honest if this isnt on there for that price it should be an easy sell' This is exactly the same message otheres have been getting according the reviews, so with that type of cold caller marketing i would leave this well alone!

Contacted via eBay listing "suggesting" listing with them. Touting for listings does not hold much confidence that you would "definitely" sell with them as suggested

I was directly messaged by them after an ad I place on eBay. They were touting for business. Very poor business practice.

I was also approached by an anonymous person saying use this site, my van has been on there for 8 months and not one lead…. not very impressed as have had much interest from gumtree and auto trader but not been lucky so took it off sale for the winter.

Mithering company messaging you when…
Mithering company messaging you when you advertise a campervan elsewhere, trying to get you to advertise on there page..
Unsolicited business contact is illegal but these don't care.
They will probably reply with some waffle like "we’re passionate about connecting buyers and sellers in the campervan community, and sometimes our affiliates may reach out to make people aware of our platform"
But they're well aware of it happening and actively encourage it so are ultimately responsible.

Selling my van on Ebay got a message by…
Selling my van on Ebay got a message by someone saying advertise on this site and I will sell my van. No mention of cost so I thought it was free. After going to all the trouble to write advert it said £19.99 for one week or more for 2 weeks etc. EBay is £19.99 for one month! I think I was misled thinking it was a seller helping me. I didn't go ahead after reading other reviews. Facebook is free and Ebay is sound especially with classified ad package.

Touting for business
Had a similar message from a supposed seller who just happened to message me out of the ‘goodness of his heart’ to say he sold his van on ‘Life in a van’
Also said he’s had a terrible experience on the site I was advertising on
Odd to say the least
Don’t know about anyone else but I rarely trawl selling sites then offer advice on selling as a gesture of good will!
Maybe this guy was genuinely concerned I wasn’t going to sell my vehicle OR maybe I’m just a cynic!
Decide for yourself
