A total hot mess of a site

I like the site. But there is no help WHATSOVER. I have tried posting many times in the forum. Nothing appears. I am unable to create a rated game. There is no comprehensive help. It's impossible to use.
A shame. I find Chess.com much better.

I couldn't believe that this website…

I couldn't believe that this website had less rating than chess.com. It is so more superior in all ways. It doesn't have premium accounts so you get everything chess.com has on its premium membership for free on this website. It is also way less laggy, and the puzzle modes are really fun. 10000% better than chess.com.

Absolute crap

Absolute crap, If a player decides to stop making moves because he has no chance of winning, he can let the clock run out and get a draw, I am not willing to keep a chess game open for three hours, so I resign, resulting in a loss for me, This is a regular thing. And, some people get a kick out of playing really badly on purpose, sacrificing all there pieces (god knows why) and if I can be patient enough to beat him/her/, Lichess auto joins me to play them again, so I resign, then I get auto joined to play them repeatedly, which equals 10 loses for me and there is no option to not auto join games, really frustrating it's such a basic issue for the site to fix. I now have 41 loses, half of which are because of these issues. There are other problems as well but I can't be asked.

Lichess is horrible

Lichess is horrible, much better websites for online chess like chess 24. dont waste your time with lichess.org. Lots of immature players using profanity and racism/sexism. the moderators couldn't care less.

Great looks, interface, detailing, but not as good as an experience as you may think!

Let's compare it to chess.com:
1. Lichess has more detail and options to play with than chess.com, such as multiple 3-dimensional chess sets and sound effects if that's your kind of thing. There is more customisation in the experience, and neither are slacking. I use both sites.
2. The members and community of chess.com are more helpful and there is better communication. If this is your kind of thing, avoid lichess.
3. There's all sorts of cool buttons to play with on lichess compared to chess.com, which is a lot simpler and has less buttons to play with. Lichess is actually more well-assorted as chess.com uses the 'zen' mode on the settings making it awkward to use while playing (and more time-consuming). Lichess even has a latency test to tell you your ping and server latency and compensates for the disconnection/bad ping whilst chess.com isn't as smart with this.
4. Chess.com is better for playing chess but lichess is better for analysing as they are up-to-date and have stockfish 11+ whereas chess.com is only stockfish 10+ (That version is already 1 year old)! Lichess has neither emojis nor chat and makes the experience diluted and confused. Overall, chess.com is a safer bet and lichess is awkward in some situations, but still a decent site overall.
5. Chess.com is more realistic with ratings AND better with the pre-moves game. Lichess doesn't take away time for pre-moves and chess.com takes away 1 second for every ten of those. Lichess makes start ratings at 1500, making them easier to remember whereas it's not realistic at all. Chess.com doesn't fare too well either, but you can choose your start rating (whether it's 800 or 1800) which makes it more realistic.

GOOD SITE is nice well structured etc.

the site is nice well structured etc.
but totally unplayable

sandbagger always have the upper hand, with their low ELO multinicks

you cancel the games against these cheaters and you get the message "temporarily blocked" for 10 hours. . . .
that is, you have to play with the cheaters and LOSE

the honest player = is temporarily blocked because it cancels the game against the cheaters multinicks

the sandbagger multinick = always wins and massacres your ELO score ( ELO lost with sandbagger NOT IS recovery )

however is a GOOD site , but more problems

( the best site )

The best chess website

My favorite chess website. There is no time delay compared to other slow websites where every millisecond matters. The cheating is very low or even non-existent and are handled accordingly. The UI is very smooth and plays well.
