Microbakery and baking classes. LEKITO is an award winning microbakery, specialising in a small range of wonderful breads, tarts, cakes and buns. We believe in Real Bread, no preservatives or other additions commercial bakers use. Artisan bread and pastries. We bake to order and also attend markets where the Lekito stall is always popular. In 2022 we won a Gold Award at the World bread Awards. We also love to teach bread baking in small friendly classes with award-winning baker, Keith Kirby. Classes are in Keith’s own kitchen in Wavendon, where participants learn a range of skills and get to bake a variety of breads or other bakes. Every class is hands-on, and everyone goes home with lots of things for friends and family to try, along with recipes. And a life-skill that will last forever!

What a great day! Thank you to Keith for providing a very professional, informative, friendly and full on day of baking Italian Breads. It was truly comprehensive and I came away with hands on experience and all that we had made during the day! I now feel confident to make my own breads. A huge thank you to Keith!
Last Saturday I joined the Introduction to Sourdough training by Lekito — and it was fantastic.
Keith’s experience and the way the training was prepared made everything clear and easy to understand. Every step was explained in a practical, structured way, so the whole process finally made sense.
I baked 8 beautiful loaves and took them home — such an amazing result!
Highly recommend to anyone who wants to confidently start their sourdough journey. Totally worth it.

The day started with homemade chocolate cookies and either tea or coffee. We were then introduced to sourdough bread starters and were very quickly hands with the ingredients and starting the bread making process. We covered several different types of bread and then watched our creations be baked. Lunch was a delicious lasagna followed by apple and ginger cake. Keith was a fantastic host and helped us at every step of the process. No question was left unanswered. Overall a brilliant day and it has definitely started me on my bread baking journey. Thank you Keith

I recently completed the Introduction to Sourdough course with three other lovely participants, and it was absolutely fantastic. Keith was knowledgeable, patient, and made everything from demystifying the art of using a starter to ensuring we mastered scoring the dough before baking. The hands-on experience was brilliant, and I left with a 'crusty' new skill set—and a warm loaf I’m genuinely proud of!
Highly recommend to anyone who wants to dive into the delicious world of sourdough with great guidance and good company.

This experience was a present from my daughter for my birthday. Having never made bread before I was not sure what to expect, but I have to say it was an amazing day and a lot of fun. Keith was a brilliant teacher and he and his lovely wife were the perfect hosts. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Bonus was that I got to come home with literally bags full of delicious Italian bread that I'd made myself. Family were amazed and loved it.

A fantastic experience both for beginners and those already initiated in the art of baking. The passion and patience with which Keith shares his experience and knowledge make the course so enjoyable and relaxed.

I just had the most incredible experience in the sourdough class! Keith is an outstanding teacher, and I never imagined I could create such amazing sourdough bread. As a self-taught baker before joining this course, I was thrilled to make my very first sourdough ear in just a few hours!

I enrolled in this course through a friend's recommendation.
It was far beyond what I expected. Learning from someone passionate is always best. Keith taught us not only the practice of making bread but also the science behind it, which made the course unique. From this course, I have learnt a lifetime of skills, I have learnt that making bread is not about mixing ingredient and put in the oven, there is a technique behind it, tricks that we cannot learnt by simply watching youtube video and I thank Keith again for his patience and will to transmit his practice, and share the value of a baker.

I attended his sourdough class with my wife. We really enjoyed it. He was a great instructor and baker. Keith and his wife who joined us at the end of the course were really friendly and welcoming. They also treated us with a delicious Lasagna at lunch. We could not ask for more. We are looking forward to attend more courses at his lovely place.

We had a whole day learning to bake bread with Keith from Lekito. I've never had any success with bread but I know from now on I have a good idea of how to start and make a good job. There were three of us in the group and we had a great deal of individual tuition along with really helpful tips to help us do well at home. There were some in depth discussions and a lot of fun and laughs as well as the most amazing warm chocolate cookies, coffees, lasagne and wine for lunch. Keith couldn’t have been more welcoming, what a wonderful experience. I’d highly recommend this event to anyone who enjoys baking, even if like me you’ve never made much bread before.
I’d definitely look to book another of Keith’s great classes another time.
Beware though, you do come home with a lot of bread, I wish I’d invited friends over to share the night it was so perfectly fresh, an amazing amount to bake in just one day :)

I am no baker, but I had a fantastic day baking at Lekito. The three of us at the Introduction to bread making class made a massive rang of different breads including an excellent Chelsea Bun which was delicious. All to take home and enjoy. Keith the host was really great and has excellent knowledge of all things bakey and I can’t believe how much I learned and actually remember.
Definitely recommended.

I attended the sourdough session and Keith was such an amazing baker and teacher:) He guided us step by step through the process and we made 5 different types of breads with sourdough. His explanation was very clear and he made everything so simple interesting to do that We will keep making sourdough breads at home again and again. He made a very delicious lunch for us and at the end his lovely wife joined us with a beautiful welcoming smile. She helped us to pack all those delicious breads that we baked ready to take home. They were both super friendly and warm. I am looking forward having more courses with Keith.

Keith’s bakes are amazing. The jam doughnuts are scrumptious, his sourdough is some of the best I have eaten but my absolutely favourite was his Nutella brioche. I ordered one of the white chocolate & apricot Panettone (apologies to the purists) at Christmas and it certainly didn’t end up being used in a bread pudding! I

(and came back home with plenty of bread for the whole month!)
