I love Mundo Antiguo!

I thoroughly enjoyed my week with Mundo Antiguo!
In August, I was on a mom-daughter Peru trip with my adult daughter. We only had a week in Cusco before another week and a half hiking the Inka Trail to Machu Piccu and spending time in the Sacred Valley.
The entire trip was amazing and next time I want to spend atleast 4 weeks with Mundo Antiguo, in Cusco!
The school is so well run. It’s fun yet the Spanish learning is so good. They did a great job of placing both me and my daughter in the right level of classes.
We were in separate classes due to a difference in language experience.
I absolutely loved my class! Classes are small, allowing for plenty of individual attention. Though I was only in class for one week, I felt very connected with my classmates! We had students from all over the world. In my small class we had a student from Germany, a student from Australia, one from Switzerland and me, from the U.S.
Our teachers were great and the evening activities were very fun, as well! I highly recommend Mundo Antiguo! ❤️

Quality teaching and excellent support

I loved my Spanish classes in a very supportive, friendly environment. The teachers we had for our group of just 4 students facilitated the lessons beautifully. It was all interactive and fun! The evenings’ social activities were a wonderful bonus!! Mundo Antiguo is an excellent language school, which I highly recommend!! (I am a languages teacher myself 😉)

Mundo was an incredible experience

Mundo was an incredible experience. I was perfectly placed with a group of students from around the world and advanced my Spanish speaking skills immensely. The teachers were professional and took their jobs seriously. It was better than what I expected. Furthermore, the homestay was comfortable and the school is located in the best part of Cusco. P.S. I’m a 51 year old teacher from the US and this experience is for all ages and levels. Thank you!

Highly recommend, loved my 2 weeks there!

I spent 2 weeks working on my Spanish with Wiracocha Spanish School aka Mundo Antiguo in Cusco in May-June 2025 and highly recommend! I already had an intermediate level of Spanish but wanted to improve so opted for private lessons. My teachers were great, I learned so much and saw noticeable improvement in my speaking and comprehension. The school is also a wonderful environment, they plan daily activities to participate in local culture and get to know your fellow students (such as salsa classes, coffee tasting, Spanish language exchanges and more). It’s also in a great location in San Blas, super safe and lots of great places to eat and hang out. I would have happily spent a few more weeks there!

Best Spanish School in Cusco!

I had an amazing time at Mundo Antiguo! The courses are very well organised and adapted to your level and your needs. There’s a good combination of grammar and also a lot of speaking time which helps a lot to practice your Spanish. I found the teachers very helpful, friendly and professional.
The school also organised daily activities which is a great way to get to know new people.
I highly recommend Mundo Antiguo if you’re looking for a Spanish School during your time in Cusco!

Excellent school

Excellent school, great teachers. The staff were very supportive and caring. Highly recommend. Exceeded expectations. Classes were quite small, or sometimes private so there was a lot of attention on individual learning and pace.

Teachers are Tops

I felt that the Mundo Antiguo teachers were top notch, pushing us, the students to do the talking and learning in class instead of hearing long lectures.
I learned so much in my two week immersion. If you’re looking to improve your Spanish, this is the place!

Can’t recommend Mundo Antiguo enough

I recently spent two months studying Spanish at Mundo Antiguo. I can’t recommend this school enough, and here’s why:

- Activities: The school is clearly devoted to creating a sense of community. There’s an activity every single day during the week, which made it very easy to make friends. Also, one of the activities is a language exchange with locals; it was a great avenue to meet people you’d later see around town.
- The city: Cusco is a great city to live in. The architecture is beautiful, the temperature is perfect if you like to wear sweaters, and I pretty much always felt safe.
- Home stay: I loved my home stay family and learned a lot about normal life in Cusco.
- Support: Mundo is really good about checking in with you. Every week, they give you a paper to review how things are with your teachers, the events, and your housing. They truly care about you having a great experience.
- Staff: Right from the beginning, all of the staff are so kind and welcoming. They were always happy to offer advice for exploring the city and nearby areas.
- Class size: I signed up for group classes. Even though the max class size was four, I never had more than one other person in my class. Due to my level/the level of the other students, I was by myself for 4 weeks (3 hours per day instead of 4, no change in price). Mundo’s commitment to small group sizes is really amazing and allows for more speaking time.
- Grammar/conversation: I learned so much. The teachers did a great job of balancing grammar time with conversation, and I walked away after two months with the ability to have conversations about deep topics.
- Teachers: Typically, you have two teachers a week (one for the first half of your class and one for the second). This allows you to experience a variety of teaching styles. It’s also obvious that the two teachers work together to create a cohesive learning plan. Because I was at the school for so long, I had about 10 different teachers. It’s crazy how great they all were.

I’ll never forget my time at Mundo Antiguo, and I hope to come back one day. Thank you so much to all of the teachers and staff. :)

Fantastic experience

The school was amazing! During the lessons we did both grammar, and a lot of speaking, which really helped with getting more comfortable with Spanish conversations. Apart from that all the daily, free after-school activities (e.g. salsa-classes/fruit tasting/language exchanges) were a lot of fun and created a great community among all the students! I definitely recommend going to the school!!

I had an incredible experience at Mundo Antiguo

I had an incredible experience at Mundo Antiguo in Cusco! I stayed for three weeks and enjoyed a mix of private and group lessons. The teachers were fantastic—so knowledgeable and patient—and I learned so much in a short amount of time.

The activities they offer are a great bonus, making it easy to explore the culture and meet other students while practicing Spanish. I also stayed in the student apartment, which was very comfortable and made my stay in Cusco even better.

I can’t recommend Mundo Antiguo enough to anyone looking to improve their Spanish while having an amazing time in such a beautiful city.

Muchas gracias por todo!

I couldn't recommend Mundo Antiguo more!

I took Spanish classes at Mundo Antiguo for 5 weeks and it was an incredible experience! My Spanish improved so much, both from the grammar lessons but also from simply speaking with my teachers. All of the teachers were incredible and knowledgeable, and the school has an incredibly welcoming ambiance. There were also weekly activities such as dinners, salsa classes, language exchanges, and more that allowed me to get to know Cusco while also getting to know the other students in the school.

I stayed in a homestay for the first two weeks, with Felcie and Vlad. They were incredible and very welcoming! I also stayed in the student apartments for a few weeks, which are a great option if you want more flexibility with your time and want to cook and/or eat out more.

Overall, I couldn't recommend Mundo Antiguo more! The staff and teachers truly care about the students and that makes all the difference.

I had an amazing two weeks at Mundo…

I had an amazing two weeks at Mundo Antiguo! I took group lessons and stayed at the Jackie homestay, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The classes were fantastic—split between two teachers, which gave me the chance to experience different teaching styles. This variety really helped me improve my Spanish over the course of my stay.

The homestay was another highlight of my experience. It was a wonderful opportunity to practice Spanish at home, and the family I stayed with was incredibly welcoming. I was fortunate to spend Christmas with them, and they went out of their way to make me feel like part of their family.

On top of that, the extra activities organized by the school were a lot of fun and a great way to connect with other students. From start to finish, everything about this experience exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend Mundo Antiguo to anyone looking to improve their Spanish in an immersive and supportive environment!

Great learning environment in Cusco!

I had an amazing experience at Mundo Antiguo in Cusco! The quality of instruction was amazing, with a very high level of teaching tailored to different language abilities. The teachers were not only highly skilled but also incredibly friendly and engaging, which made learning both effective and enjoyable. I also stayed with ome of the guest families that the school offered and that was a very inspiring and great experience as well.

The school organized a lot of evening activitiesl as well. From cultural workshops to salsa dancing and local tours, there was always something exciting happening after class. These activities created a perfect blend of education and immersion, helping me practice the language while connecting with fellow students and locals.

The school provided a vibrant and supportive atmosphere. If you're looking to improve your language skills within a great Cuscuenan atmosphere, Mundo Antiguo is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!
