Lazy Tackers was created from a simple belief: sailing is one of the most rewarding ways to reconnect with yourself, other people, and the natural world. We are not a charter company and we are not a party cruise. We offer small-group sailing retreats in Croatia for people who want to experience authentic life at sea while learning real sailing skills. Every retreat is limited to just four guests, creating an environment where everyone becomes an active part of the crew. Whether you are stepping aboard for the first time or already have sailing experience, you will learn by participating in every aspect of life on board—from trimming sails and steering the yacht to navigation, anchoring, docking, weather interpretation, and teamwork. Our home is the Croatian Adriatic, one of Europe's most beautiful sailing destinations. Depending on weather conditions, we explore secluded bays, historic coastal towns, national parks, and quiet anchorages while allowing nature—not a strict timetable—to shape each journey. Lazy Tackers was founded by lifelong sailor Gregor Krklec, whose sailing journey began in 1989. After decades on the water — from the Adriatic and Mediterranean to the Atlantic, with countless offshore miles, challenging passages, and international offshore races — he created Lazy Tackers to share something deeper than sailing skills. It is about the lessons the sea teaches us: patience, responsibility, humility, confidence, and trust — qualities that shape not only better sailors, but better people as well. We believe that the best moments at sea are often the simplest ones: a quiet sunrise at anchor, dolphins appearing alongside the boat, the scent of Mediterranean pine forests carried by the wind, cooking dinner together after a day under sail, or navigating beneath a sky filled with stars. Safety, professionalism, and genuine hospitality are at the heart of everything we do. We sail only in conditions that allow our guests to enjoy the experience while continuously learning and building confidence. Lazy Tackers is for curious people who seek meaningful experiences, authentic connections, and a deeper connection with the sea. Our goal is simple: to create a week where you are not just sailing through beautiful places, but becoming part of the journey — sharing life on board, embracing the rhythm of the sea, and experiencing what it truly means to be part of a crew.

The sailing trip was part of my sailing yacht handover and included a thorough inspection of the boat followed by a three-day familiarisation sail. Gregor shared knowledge with remarkable ease and professionalism, making even complex topics easy to understand. We learned countless practical tips, all delivered with enthusiasm and good humour. Highly recommended!
My first sailing experience was with Lazy Tackers. At first, I was a bit skeptical about joining a sailing retreat, but by the second day I realized it was exactly what I needed.
The whole week was relaxed and enjoyable. We explored beautiful places, cooked together, spent long evenings talking as if we'd known each other for years, and learned from one another. Gregor also shared plenty of useful sailing tips and made sure we always felt safe and comfortable on the water.
One of the things I appreciated most was the peaceful pace of the trip. We avoided crowded spots, discovered wonderful konobas in quiet bays, and, to top it all off, we were lucky enough to see dolphins. 😍 🐬
Thank you LT and Gregor!
