You can almost get the impression that parts of the car rental industry are a pure scam. They push you to buy insurance you don't need, you don't get a car if you don't take out additional insurance, and you are required to pay for damage you didn't cause to the car. I have experienced both. I am therefore very skeptical to this industry in general. With LaraCars I experienced the opposite. Fast handover of the car, no attempts to pressure you into insurance etc., personal attendance of the consultant who handed over the car. Check the car and sign. They deliver the car with a quarter tank, that you pay for, after which you can return the car with almost no gas. No need to worry about filling up before the airport etc. I shortened my rental from 4 to 3 weeks and got the last week credited, which will then be deducted from the next rental period. Without asking! Fantastic. Just deliver the car, lock it and push the key in through the slot in the window. Completely unbureaucratic. I would say a 6 on the dice.

I switched to Lara after my normal supplier retired, it was refreshing to receive excellent service right from the beginning,on line clear , confirmation e mail, great detail of pick up and return, pleasant staff on arrival, nice clean cars- all in all very very good and have no hesitation in recommending them to everyone

Lara Cars were great, I did some searching prior to our visit and followed the other reviews.
Seemless hand over and the guy we met was very helpful, gave us clear instructions to leave the airport and for when we returned the car.
None of the usual excess nonsense and being pressured to pay more etc. One price, simple.
The car we had was spotless too on handover.
Will definitely use them again

exeptional we rented a car for a week completely hassle free you are met on lvl 5 at alicante airport by a guy holding a sign he takes you to your car sign an aggrement and of you go no pressure sales returning the car is simple drop it of pop the key into the car i would highly recommend Lara cars an honest and reliable company forget the rest use these guys you wont be disapointed

Lara Cars provided a seamless, most professional service from the very first point to contact all the way to and inclluding the drop off. Fully comprehensive insurance thus avoiding the insurance scams of other car rental firms and a simple fuel return policy, again not designed to con the public and quality cars well rpiced. Excellent, excellent highly recommended.

Have used Lara Cars several times in the past and will be using them again in July. Why? Because, as they clearly state, the price they quote is the price you pay. No extra charges when you collect, no upselling of insurance, nothing!
You can pay by credit card, debit card (rarely accepted by other rentals without hassle) or cash (very rare).
The only 'extra' charge is the car parking ticket to exit the car park (I think I paid €2 last time). But again, this is made transparently clear when you book.
The cars are all late model, well equipped and spotlessly clean, as you'd expect.
Absolutely 100% recommended.

I have been using Lara Cars several times per year for many years now and would never consider other car rental companies on the Costa Blanca unless Lara had no availability which, by booking early, I invariably ensure they have.
Before I discovered Lara I really ran the gauntlet of some pretty unscrupulous, hard selling and yes - even downright dishonest companies. Like some airlines, their price started out looking very attractive then the add-ons started. Insurance was another really dodgy area - pay through the nose or make sure you photographed the car when you got it - they would often attribute any existing damage to you - yes they really were that bad.
LARA ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT. The price they quote is the price you pay, no ifs or buts. They also do not load your price for additional drivers, child seats, fully comp insurance, which gives you full cover (apart from lost keys, tyre damage, incorrect fuelling and any motoring fines) and they don't con you on fuel. Their price quotation is totally transparent and there are no nasty surprises when you pick up your car.
I estimate I personally have had at least 24 rentals over the last six to seven years with them. I've never (touch wood!) had a bad car - they have always been newer models and clean. I have never had a representative fail to be waiting for me bang on time at the airport or leave me stranded if my flight was delayed. And they are always pleasant, friendly, patient, (I'm elderly) and very helpful. I'm just about to book a car for April this year and will be doing so with absolute confidence.
In conclusion. Be very wary of seemingly cheap companies - especially the big ones! and never ever avail yourself of offers that have you indemnify yourself separately with other insurers against excess to get around taking out the extortionate full insurance offered by the the big companies. I speak from a very unpleasant experience there. Renting a car in Spain can be a very upsetting experience - that is why I choose Lara every time.

We were met at the airport exactly where all the email info said our rep would be ,We were handed the keys to a great little 208 Peugeot, No fuss at all , Dropped it back off on the 5th floor , Left the passenger window open just enough to put the keys through and went home .It cost us about £180 for 7 days in Alicante ,We travelled about 1000 km with no problems at all . Would highly recommend to anyone travelling in Spain , They are much better than all the other car hire companies we have used in Spain .

Went to make a booking didn’t even bother to respond

After years hiring cars from just about every other company at Alicante airport I'd become accustomed to getting fleeced with extra insurance, dodgy smallprint etc .LaraCars were a breath of fresh-air. Easy collection and return...no bulls**t or hidden costs...I will use every time in the future.

Very good company to deal with. Straight forward process with no hidden costs. Met at the airport, escorted to the car and advised on return process and left the airport 10 minutes later. Easy return process also, leaving car at same general carpark with no need to meet anyone. Would use this company again next time.

1st time to Alicante and based on reviews read for Lara Cars booked a hire car for 2 weeks. The whole experience was quick and painless. Met at the airport and shown to the car. No hard sell extra cover...just pay and go. Instructions to return are very clear and no waiting about to return keys. Will definitely be using again.

The rental process is easy and hassle free

cannot thank Lara Cars enough , from the pick up process , very pleasant employee greeted us and took us to the car explained everything, very simple here's the keys tank quarter full bring back empty, no need to take photos of the condition of the car you are fully covered insurance wise for everything apart from tyre damage . Great car for the 5 of us . Return was a little difficult as you have to return to the 5th floor of the car park so you must go into parking building 1, from there really easy drop off - thank you so much Lara cars we will use again and recommend without hesitation.

Good rate, no hidden charges or hard sale for extra insurance, the price they quote is the price you pay, new car delivered to arrivals car park and the drop off at arrivals car park. No waiting around.

Absolutely fantastic service! this will be the third time hiring a car from lara cars and as always such an easy and professional service!
As anyone with small kids knows the hassle with hiring a car with all the kids seats, waiting and stress of the flight lara cars always has the car ready and waiting for us at the airport.
What they say is what you get, a straight forward, cheap, no hassle service with no hidden crap like the rest of the rental companies.
Would especially reccomend if traveling with kids!

Second time we used Lara Cars in Alicante and the experion is exactly the same as last time, with low price, nice car - and most importent - absolutely no problems. No hidden costs at Lara Cars, and that make the choise easy for me the next time we need to rent a car.
