Gambrills Labcorp Fails
Location: 2401 Brandermill Blvd, Ste 160, Gambrills, MD 21054
Visit date: 9/17/25
I was slapped by the phlebotomist when attempting to assist her with holding the gauze while she attempted to tape it to my arm. As a result, the bruising post-puncture was worse than usual. Healthcare in the US has become so rude and unkind. Labcorp staff is consistently guilty of bad care. Why do these people work in a business whose customers/patients irritate them? I don’t need to be subjected to such bad behavior.

I gave 1 star because 0 is not an option
I was completely scammed by this company. I was sent for testing by my IVF clinic as I had been over the previous 2 years however after 2 years of treatments where a significant portion of my testing was covered, I was not informed that NONE of my testing would be covered nor was I informed that the cost would be 500 times higher than my typical visit. Imagine my shock when I received a $5,000 bill for what I was told was routine testing. I was able to get my local OB to perform the rest of the testing, but I would NEVER recommend LabCorp and have filed a suit with both the State of Florida and the Surgeon General for their business practices.
LABCORP IS ALL MESSED UP
I had to email Labcorp to advise the reason my 9/8/2025 Test Results did not post to my account. Labcorp emailed me saying that my license and the address on my account don't match. The local lab advised me to call Customer Service at 855-522-2677. They refused to update my address, saying that I have to do it myself online.
I attempted to update my Profile address online several times for 2 hours but Labcorp's continuous responses were that they were experiencing "Technical Difficulties " and to try again.
Then I called another Customer Service phone number, 855-522-2677. Labcorp left me on hold for 12.5 minutes, and then the line kept ringing and ringing with no one picking up the call.
LABCORP DRAINS PEOPLE OF THEIR VALUABLE TIME and HAS WASTED HOURS OF MY TIME. LABCORP NEEDS TO BE REQUIRED TO PAY CUSTOMERS FOR TIME SPENT ATTEMPTING TO SUCCESSFULLY MANAGE THEIR ACCOUNTS AND PATIENT PORTALS.
Labcorp is paid by my insurance company on my behalf for all lab tests.
They have no right to withhold test results on my online account just because a change of address is needed. My Insurance Card is all they need. PATIENTS PAY THEIR INSURANCE IS ALL LABCORP NEEDS TO KNOW SINCE LABCORP IS RECEIVING PAYMENTS.
IN MY OPINION, LABCORP IS A FLY BY NIGHT ENTITY WHICH SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS.
I WON'T EVEN BEGIN DESCRIBING THEIR LOCAL LABCORPS ISSUES.
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY...INCOMPETENT AND NONEXISTENT COMMUNICATION
Went to local LabCorp site in Suwanee Georgia for urine specimen needed before surgery. They have no record of what happened to the specimen and multiple calls to site unanswered. Spoke to supervisor on consumer complaint line who said they would investigate and call me back and I never received a call back .
These people and company are pathetic, incompetent and should not be in business!!
I would give them a -1 star rating if I could....Go elsewhere if at all possible!
Quick results.
LabCorp has always been quick with my results and professionals and I never got charged extra for my blood test that was covered full not like millennium constantly try to charge me for something that I didn't have to pay for.
Blood tests incomplete
After taking blood, it took 3 weeks for simple tests to be ALMOST complete, then Labcorp sent part of the test results to the wrong place!!! I have not received a bill yet, but based on what I am reading, I an very scared.
Quivira Location Shawnee KS
Quivira Location Shawnee KS
Receptionist is under staffed and not real accommodating or friendly. Very stressed. I have tried calling many times this week, the front desk and other extensions, as we need results forwarded to our doctor for bladder scan tomorrow. Left messages no return calls. Doctor has the end of the day to get results or we will need to reschedule.
Very low rank. Probable just a drug test facility.
There needs to be competition
There needs to be competition. Labcorp sucks, problems every single time I need bloodwork, multiple locations. There are no other labs around...every doctors office, hospital, it's all Labcorp.
Any half rate lab could do a better job
Been getting bills ranging from $4 to…
Been getting bills ranging from $4 to 14, getting nickel & dimed by these bloodsuckers!
My appointment was 9 o’clock
My appointment was 9 o’clock. Nobody was in the office waiting. A lady came in and was taken before me, I didn’t say anything, but then three more people came in and was taken before me. There was a redhead at the reception desk, who was very rude. I will not be going back there. They need to be reassessed with their customer service skills.
No professionalism or patient care
I was filling a fasting blood order and went to a local CMC. There was no reception/ registration; I was sent to a hallway where a line of 6 people stood; 2 were sitting in the 3 available seats directly outside of the lab room where the open door showed the technician from Labcorp, the patient and the computer screen. No privacy. I waited for an hour; then asked to come in, but the tech couldn’t find my order for which I had paperwork. She said that she couldn’t take my blood. A CMC ee called my MD and the order was put in. When I returned to the lab tech she was eating lunch, and refused to draw my blood sample… 70 minutes later I left. Labcorp mgrs., if you see this, pls overhaul your process so that patients are checked in on arrival and given a seat while awaiting Service. Suggest that your ees put the patient’s time before gratifying their hunger— I’d fasted for 13 hrs; keep the shut so patients and records privacy is assured. Shame on you and CMC for allowing this fiasco and lack of professionalism.
Rude and unprofessional
Completely lacking in professionalism. Receptionist is rude. Would never recommend.
The LabCorp Doesn’t Care About People
The LabCorp at 4601 N. Congress Ave., in West Palm Beach, Florida has completely failed in customer service. I scheduled my blood test weeks before my doctor's appointment next week, just one floor above their facility. Despite being a long-time patient with Lab Corps, when I arrived for my 7:30 am appointment, they had not informed my doctor about missing paperwork and failed to notify me until I arrived. Their response was inadequate, insisting there was nothing they could do. The had my insurance information and my information. They could have charged me and refunded me after they cleared everything with my insurance, but the woman behind the desk refused. They could have charged mu insurance company after the doctor gave them clearance, and charged me if they couldn't get clearance. They refused to do anything and everything. Lab Corp didn't want to be bothered with serving me as a customer. This is unacceptable, especially in an era where AI and digital systems should streamline communication. I strongly advise against using this LabCorp location.
online payment portal is TERRIBLE!!
online payment portal is terrible...ALWAYS "unable to process your payment at this time. Please try again later." This firm is a joke!! They should be heavily fined or banned from working in the healthcare sector. How can any firm survive with a 1.4 review score. We need more competition!
Lost my sample!
I went to the Labcorp location at Bastyr in Wallingford, but the machine used to check people in wasn’t working, so I had to drive to the Northgate location.(I was told ID wasn’t required when I placed the order.) I left a urine sample in a container they gave me with my name on it, in the bathroom, as instructed. After a week they said they never received it and I had to return to the lab.
Can't access my account due to Okta
I have been trying to contact them for a couple of months to gain access to my account (I switched phones and didn't know that I cannot log in without okta verify which you can't get to work without your old phone). I have filed a complaint with the BBB because I am so frustrated with LabCorp. DO NOT USE THEM if you can.
Terrible
Terrible. Understaffed and employees are leaving. Labcorp greedy company.
Customer experience at the lab and…
Customer experience at the lab and quality of service are inconsistent and depend upon the location and the tech working there. The Crystal Lake (IL) location used to be terrible a few years ago, but has considerably improved in the last two years after a new tech by the name of Komal started working there. The Crystal Lake location is now efficient and offers good service as of 2025 due to this tech (my experience with other techs at the same location has not been that good). Labcorp website is ok but rather poorly designed. When you register, you are asked to provide all your information. Then when you login for setting up an appointment, instead of grabbing all your information already entered when you registered, the form asks you to reenter all your information again. This reflects a badly programmed website and clearly there is tremendous scope for improvement with respect to the website. The appointment confirmation has a bar code and says you can scan this at check-in, but at check-in, the computer asks for your drivers license and information again, which is pretty stupid. They do publish the results within 2-4 days in Illinois based on my past experience and this is good. All this is my opinion of course and other may have had different experiences.
Only one tech was working
Only one tech was working. Last minute call to cancel working. Not a strong work ethic at this lab.The one tech was wonderful and overworked. I had a 9 am appt and someone had been waiting since 8 am for a blood draw. Now I’m waiting for results!
Try Quest Labs
Previously, I have complained about the general confrontational attitudes of staff and dismissive and abusive behavior toward the elderly at the Napa 3448 Villa Lane site.
This coupled with card readers that are often out of service, cannot read cards properly, and long waits even when you arrive early and secure the #1 thru #3 position in line are commonplace at that location.
This morning, I arrived there at 6:13 AM only to be curtly advised by the entering staff person at 6:30 AM (opening time), that as of last month the site no longer takes walk-ins and appointments are required. (No sign posted on the locked gate letting returning clients know.) There were two of us there and we were referred to a nearby Labcorp at 1100 Trancas Street.
I arrived there at 6:35 AM. That site opened at 7:00 AM. Only one person was present to service approximately 15 people already in line. I was seen at ~7:23 AM and out by ~7:38 AM. The one person present had to register clients and then take their specimens. She was polite and competent but CLEARLY overworked. When I left, there were roughly 20-25 people spilling out into the hallway waiting.
Several of the folks waiting this morning claimed that they had reported with appointments the day before to find the office closed during business hours because the person reporting for work did not have their key and it took roughly 4 hours to find the building manager to open the door.
Enough is enough. I feel sorry for the polite, effective young woman at 1100 Trancas Street who has to work under those conditions and the clients who have to wait. I understand that Quest Labs (also nearby in town) takes people more efficiently, has more staff, and does not curtly turn people away. Unfortunately, they open an hour later so today I had planned to be 1st in line at the Villa Lane Labcorp.
Recently, my physician down the hall from Labcorp advised me of how he drives down the street to Quest as opposed to walking down the hall to Labcorp. So I do not consider the above to be an unreasonable report. I announced this fact to all those folks in the waiting room and in the hallway as I was leaving. This smacks of corporate greed and uncaring management. As a former successful local business owner, I will be urging my friends and neighbors to speak with their wallets and explore Quest Labs.
In my opinion, Labcorp does not deserve to remain in business in the Napa area.
