Very good proofreading course. Taught me everything I needed to know to get started in the industry.

After working 20 years in publishing (trained in-house on one particular style), I took this course to broaden my knowledge. The course went above and beyond my expectations. The interactive quizzes and mini assignments help to reinforce the learning. Even though I've finished, I have access to the additions and improvements Knowadays continues to make to the course. I know I'll be popping back in now and again to check things.

The Knowadays tutors I dealt with (both by email and video call) were incredibly helpful and encouraging. Each one provided excellent feedback on my assignments and helpful tips on moving on to the next step. They really know their stuff.

I found the Knowadays Becoming a proofreader course really informative and well structured with lots of practical opportunities to learn and develop your proofreading skills. I learnt so much doing the course and it has helped to hone my grammar, punctuation and spelling skills. The tutors are really helpful and knowledgeable and provide excellent feedback. The course is second to none and great value for money and the opportunity to work for their partner agency Proofed if you achieve a distinction in the final assessment is the icing on the cake.

I absolutely loved the course. So well presented and explained. Even the areas that I felt confident about my knowledge of the subject matter proved to be very worthwhile reviewing.

I am grateful I selected Knowadays' Becoming a Proofreader course because it was thorough while also manageable. I selected this course because of the opportunity to work for their proofreading company, Proofed, upon completion of the course (as long as I scored an 80% or higher on the final assignment, per the course description). I did not wish to freelance myself, so it was very desirable to me that Knowadays had this option. I also highly valued the resources provided and the access to Knowadays tutors. I would recommend this course to anyone who wishes to become a proofreader.

I completed the Becoming A Proofreader course, and thought they were excellent from start to finish. The course itself was great and I learnt a great deal. I liked the fact that there was a mix of slides, quizzes and tutor help (should you need it) and a webinar. And when it came to the final exams, a tutor emailed the results with in-depth comments about what went well and what could be improved, which was also followed by a live video chat to explain this further, which I thought was very useful indeed!
Would definitely recommend.

Knowadays is a wonderful company. When I enrolled in their course, it was clear that they wanted me to succeed and get everything I could from it. They have great tutors who send you videos where they address any issues you have on the course, the help available on the website is fast and efficient, and they even send you extra learning resources at no extra cost. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and because of them I now work as a proofreader, which I really love doing.

Becoming A Proofreader is a very good course covering almost every aspect of copy editing and proofreading in various styles. This course taught me all manner of editing whatsits, allowing me to really improve in the work I'd already been doing for a while. But the knowledge that Microsoft Word is not wholly evil—that it may even be at least a tad good—is worth the price of admission alone.

'Becoming a Proofreader' is a fantastic course for anybody who wants to take their first steps towards professional proofreading and editing. The explanations of grammatical and spelling conventions are consistently thorough and user-friendly throughout, and there is plenty of information to help with the technical and logistical aspects of entering the world of proofreading. I have recently started to take on my own work as a freelance proofreader thanks to this course. Highly recommended.

This course gave me everything I need to be a qualified proofreader. The tutors were personable and responded to emails quickly. They were also encouraging and gave tips on how to improve my skills. The only issue I had was with the server bouncing my tests results back all three times. I guess it does not like yahoo. However the tutoring team are doing what they can to resolve the problem. I was very pleased with the quality of Knowadays.

Knowadays/Proofreading Academy's course was everything I wanted it to be, and then some! I originally signed up because of the guaranteed employment with Proofed upon successful completion of the course. I completed the course in about 6 weeks (while working elsewhere 4 days a week) and have now been employed with Proofed for 2 weeks. The process was exactly as described and very straightforward.
Also, despite having taken several editing courses previously, I was pleased to find I still learned many new things from this course. The resources and blog articles are very useful, and I appreciate that you can still access the course materials even after completing the final assignment. I highly recommend this course to prospective proofreaders and editors alike! Excellent value.

Very thorough and a great value for the money. Tutors are available if needed. Definitely do all the webinars and videos that are offered. It is a lot of information to take in, and the final assigment is tough. Recommended if you are thinking of proofreading as a WFH job. Once you pass and are working for Proofed, the schedule is flexible and the documents are always different and interesting.
