Appalling…

Appalling service regarding an ongoing issue with a faulty microwave combi oven that we contacted them about in September originally. My mother in law has been charged over £200 for repairs that have not resolved the issue and has been waiting to hear back about further replacement parts or a new model since November. We have heard nothing further since then, despite chasing but they have had the audacity to bill her again for the original work, despite her having paid this! Avoid this company at all costs.

Update: I have edited this in response to KLS’s replies below to reiterate that no quote was received, despite my husband phoning and leaving messages chasing this on a number of occasions between November and January using both telephone numbers the company provide. I also called the company on both numbers today regarding my mother in law being billed again for a bill she had already paid and again received no response until I posted this review. This prompted Wayne to finally message my husband tonight and claim he had sent a quote and that our review wasn’t accurate. The email “screenshot” sent to my husband after posting this review shows an incomplete and unsigned email supposedly sent in November that we never received. It was also screenshot rather than re-sent. It’s a shame that this review was the primary reason for contacting us, not sorting out the issues I had requested a call back for. It’s also a shame that the company have been very prompt to follow up a poor review but have not actually shown this speed of response when following up customer messages and queries. Despite this, we have at least finally received a partial refund to cover the cost of the part that was not required.

Hi Lucy,

Thank you for your email, i am very sorry for the poor service you have received. I do regret that we were unable to repair your mothers appliance. Unfortunately there was an intermittent issue where it kept stopping heating and after we fitted parts it would then work each time we visited making it difficult to repair.
You state you have been waiting to hear back for the repair to be completed and never heard from us. This is infact untrue and we had qouted you via email for the pcbs needed to complete the repair and we infact then never had a reply from yourselves. We would never abandon a repair or customer and would never stop getting in touch with them. All of our customers are important to us.

In regards to the invoice we have also emailed you regarding this advising there are no charges to be paid. There is no second bill or any charges to be paid.
Once again please accept my apologies for any poor service you did receive.

I as stated have sent screenshots to your husbands email address to prove we did follow up with a qoute to which we had no response from yourselves. This is not a lie and is not something I can make up. I have admitted there were failings on our part back then with phone calls not responded too. It was an extremely busy time for us. This is not an excuse but part of the reason why. I won't shy away from this. We messed up and I am very sorry that we did.
This review yes has prompted a reply from myself tonight but the only reason we didn't follow up previously is because as stated we quoted and recieved no reply to the email.

We were a relatively new company at the time and are always learning from our mistakes to improve our service in the future. I have apologised and offered a refund and owned up to the fact we made some mistakes.

This is not something that has happened or will happen again.

We can go back and forth here all day if you really want too. I have just sent Lucy a full screenshot of the email with nothing missing. Still has the date and time stamps included.
Really not sure what you are trying to achieve here.
The only thing wrong I have done wrong here is not answer every phone call ypu made to me.
You claim the refund is for a part not needed that is also not true. When i first visited you the magnetron had failed. There was no heat full stop. New magnetron got it heating. From then onwards it was intermittently working. Some delays inbetween visits as our Female engineer who works the RG area which I do not could not lift the microwave out. So it was difficult to arrange me to be there whilst working in the likes on Cranleigh and surrounding areas. Each time I came it worked. I am not someone that will just guess at parts and make you spend hundreds on a pcb unless we are absolutely sure that it the issue. You never replied to our email qoute. At the time we were a team of three people. Taking hundreds of phone calls a day. It was not possible for me to answer all of them since I do not sit in an office all day and instead I am out doing 10 jobs a day. I have refunded you for the part that was needed but as I said I'm an honest and fair person and if I new you had paid for it originally it would have been refunded alot earlier. I have apologised that the repair went on for a long time but unfortunately not every repair is straight forward especially when the fault doesn't happen whilst I am at the appliance but considering we contract for the likes of elextrolux, hotpoint, NAC, Glotech, Go Assist and many more. Complete over 200 jobs a week we really are not an awful company just because you had a bad experience with us.
We have learned from it. We have apologised and given the appropriate refund.
I cannot do anymore than that for you.

KLS poor service

KLS made an appointment to come out on Friday afternoon. They did not pitch up. They called to say they could not make it, so 1 star for that. Since then they have just become unresponsive and so I have had a fridge sitting and waiting for a week while they practice low levels of customer service. I have given up on getting service from KLS and put my enquiry out to service oriented organisations

Astoundingly good

Astoundingly good service from KLS. Our dependable AEG washer/drier suddenly went on strike after 10 admittedly hard years. AEG sent us KLS. I was cynically resigned to being told (by agents of AEG) that the machine was beyond economic repair. How wrong I was. The communication was superb throughout. The engineer arrived on time with a smile. He identified the problem (a loose connection, surely to be forgiven after all this time!), fixed it quickly and stayed to ensure - to both his and our satisfaction - that all programmes were working properly.
I won't pretend that I look forward to the next breakdown but, if it should ever happen, I feel greatly reassured to have the contact co-ordinates for KLS. Thank you Anil, Wayne and Katy. I am hyoooogely impressed.

No followup or communication

We called KLS out to look at a fridge. They observed the intermittent fault but were unable to determine the cause. We paid the callout fee - so far ok. He made the point that it is still covered by their repair warranty, and they would do more research. After several attempts to contact them they called back and said they still wanted to do some research. It is now 3 weeks later, no comunication and they don't return my calls/messages. My complaint isn't that they couldn't fix it or that there was a callout fee - it is that they led us on for weeks thinking that they were trying some more but didn't, and won't communicate. We're just giving up and buying a new fridge.

Outstanding

This company is outstanding. We had a problem with our Washing Machine and they reacted quickly and were very attentive. The problem was solved within a couple of days after sourcing the appropriate parts. Really outstanding company.

I had never come across KLS before I found them on a search. I asked for a quote and the response was immediate. I accepted the quote, £70 plus VAT call out including necessary subsequent visits plus cost of parts. All very reasonable so booked a call out which was available in 24 hours. The engineer came as promised did the job requested in about an hour. He was very helpful, tidy, clean and personable.

A hard to locate gas leak on my cooker…

A hard to locate gas leak on my cooker hob challenged the engineer but he and the team really worked hard to sort it out and it now works again avoiding the need for buying a new cooker. I will happily use them for any future appliance repairs. Thank you all for your help and for your lovely attitude through out.

Faulty Dishwasher Repair

Had problems with my dishwasher and contacted KLS and Anil was able to attend a few days later. He quickly resolved the issue and had parts on hand to save time. Value for money, polite and clean. Would highly recommend.

Excellent service today my cooker had been fixed before by a trader from nn4 traders and it broke again message kingsthorpe appliance repair and he gave me a day to come out and fixed there and then as the other part that had been fitted previously was the wrong part for my cooker .will 100% recommend this company very honest and reliable

Fixed problem and stayed professional..

I found them in response to a job I put out on checkatrade website. My middle aged Hoover washing machine was displaying an error message that I could not DIY away.

It took a couple of days for the initial visit to materialise (6th Nov). And a few more visits (10th Nov, 13th Nov and 18th Nov) before the problem was finally fixed.

But all throughout Wayne remained professional, keeping me informed of costs, delays and reschedule requests - all over text messages.

Happy to recommend him to others in a similar situation.

Fixed the Unfixable….

Thought I’d try KLS to repair a Smeg range cooker that another repair company and Smeg customer services said couldn’t be fixed. Well it took a couple of visits but Wayne only went and fixed it. Absolutely over-the-moon as the cost of a new oven just before Christmas was not ideal. Very Professional, Polite, Punctual and even turned up on a Sunday morning to help. Can’t thank or rate highly enough - A++++

Thank you for your unfair 1 star review. I am very sorry to hear you are not happy with the fixed call out fee that you agreed to and were charged by the company your booked. Sadly this is not us as we only contract on their behalf therefore your review has been posted on the wrong company.
Unfortunately we cannot repair the unrepairable its just simply not possible. I would like to ask you to reconsider your 1 star review and remove it considering you didn't book ourselves out. As mentioned we contract for the company that you booked through and unfortunately have no control over their call out fees. You agreed to their terms and conditions when you booked the call out with them, As they had no available engineers in the area they asked us to attend the repair on their behalf. We do not set the call out fees for them, We cannot change the fee's another company has. Your 1 star review needs to be given to them not ourselves.
