My ongoing divorce case was taken on by Emily Wood who has been efficient, professional and supportive in what has been a very difficult and stressful time in my life. She takes no nonsense from my husbands ridiculous objections to everything and strives to move the case forward as quickly as possible. I would thoroughly recommend her services.

Kulbir has been brilliant, very knowledgeable and helpful and found me a great barrister. Whilst I’m not happy with the judges ruling, without her assistance it could have been a lot worse!

I have instructed Kate Evans to help me with my tolata and child arrangements. I didn't got so little advice on my options. So lack of comunication when I couldn't reach her first week. I have told her my position what I would like there was no advice on the risks I'm taking with my original proposal or explaining the process clearly. She has send one email with tolata to my ex partner she got respind from him and without any advice or shared her opinion she asked me what is my next step. I have raised concern that I don't feel this is right she explained that I should have taken the lower proposal from my ex partner even thought what I was asking for was already much less than I'm entitled to by law to safe money on legal cost. I don't think this approach is great from solicitors you paid so much money for. They are not on your side they are only going after your money and use advantage over vulnerable people who seeks help. They are not the ones who will genuinely try to help you only take as much money as they can from you. When I have decided to leave and go with different law firm who I spoke and they explained me everything in clear way and told me all my options and the risks I am taking with the original proposal I got email from Kate Evans that they will not transfer my file to new solicitor as there is outstanding balance on my account for work has been done. Eventhought I had still some money there. I had to question this billing as i have not been informed and i didnt instruct them to do anything. She said there was additional work and charged me for even responding to my emails about my complain of her work. The advice she told me to accept the proposal from my ex partner cost me 144 pounds plus vat. The aproximate cost supposed to be around 5000 but only 1 email to my ex partner and his respond cost me £1800. Only after speaking to another law firm I realized how wrong this firm opperate.

From the first meeting with Harpreet I knew we had chosen well she was very open and honest of what she could do for us in family court And she delivered in every aspect . Her attention to detail and the work she did on our personal statement made the court appearance easy and straight forward.
We achieved all out goals and this would not have been possible without her time and effort a big Thank you to her team at KJS for there support as well.

Absolute garbage company. Don't waste your money and time. I was with this company for 3 months and after paying over £30,000, it was obvious they are not interested in your views and dont follow simple instructions. They don't add any value to your case. I was working with Emily and then Aaron who was supposed to be more senior, and they drain your time and money doing the basics with back and forth emails. They even do extra work that you didn't request and they expect you to pay for it. They are only interested in your money and couldn't care about your case or welfare. Very crude and insensitive company. Avoid!!!

Pathetic company. Incompetent solicitors who can't follow simple instructions, charge you for extra work that you didn't ask for or need and waste your time with endless emails that they are looking to get paid for. Keep away.

Atrocious and shocking service. They couldn't care about you as a client and only after your money. Even when you dispute the charges and they are "looking" into the complaint, they start to charge you interest. Strongly suggest you seek another solicitor firm.

Having explained my situation regarding my legal parentage status, the family team at KJ Smith set out a clear and easy to understand set of steps to address my legal requirements. Having tried several routes previously, over prior 12months. In under 3months with KJ Smith support I am now legally in an excellent place. I can highly recommend anyone seeking to resolve a family matter to talk to the Ascot team at KJ Smith.

Terrible company, no peoples skill and unhelpful. They dont tailor their work to your needs and everything seems generic. I had to point them in the right direction and prompt them on various points, felt like I was the one doing all the work. Made a formal complain to the company about my solicitor and then was assigned a more 'senior' member who was just as bad. When advising them I will no longer be using their services they were not even interested in finding out why and straight away sent me an inflated invoice. Do not recommend. I am now being advised by a barrister so I definitely recommend exploring this route.

Yes, divorces are expensive but you will be well represented by this firm.

I wanted advice before proceeding with my divorce. I had approached another local Oxford solicitor and was unimpressed with their lack of forthcoming advice (I needed to prompt them with questions about the process). I then google searched marital solicitors in Oxford and found KJSmith. I was assigned Sofie Corbin. She could not have been more calming, informative, honest and helpful.

Whilst any legal fees are never welcome, Sofie was upfront about the likely costs and their policy is to keep clients informed as to any deviation from likely expenses. I did encounter hiccup with paying online, but now I pay my bill over the phone which is easily done with a friendly and helpful accounts person.

We are in the final throes of my divorce proceedings and I feel satisfied that I have received a very good service from Sofie and her team (not least compared to the advice my husband received from his separate firm of advisors). Sofie helped me negotiate a fair settlement.

I approached KJ Smith Solicitors last September as I had to proceed with a divorce. I met with Seema in Beaconsfield office who held my hand through the whole process. The divorce was tough and frustrating and Seema saw me at my lowest but still managed to keep me going. I was given professional advice from the very beginning including a breakdown of all costs at each stage. The later part of the divorce was dealt with by Harpreet who took a slightly stronger hand (due to ex-husbands behaviour) and finalised the divorce. Again Harpreet had to deal with me in tears on several occasions but kept me positive. Overall would be happy to recommend this company.
