I have never heard of a company called Kitchguru in my life.

Here is how the scam works:

A random advertisement appears on social media, claiming to be from a popular store and offering a product at a huge discount — often for an item that doesn’t even exist. Once you make the payment, that’s the end of it.

Later, Kitchguru claims that the amount paid was actually a membership fee. This is Stage 1.

When you realize you’ve been scammed, you may ignore it and move on. However, one day you notice a large amount deducted from your card again. That’s when you realize you were enrolled in an automatic renewal payment without your clear consent. This is Stage 2.

After recognizing the mistake, and out of human nature not wanting to waste the deducted amount, you may feel compelled to order something from their website — even if you don’t need it. Then they charge excessive shipping fees, sometimes equal to the cost of the product itself. This is Stage 3.

Finally, when the shipment arrives, the delivery company asks for customs charges that are often three times more than the product value.

Please think carefully before clicking on anonymous social media advertisements.

To Kitchguru: How can you renew a membership without clear customer consent? How can you deduct our hard-earned money through auto-pay without proper authorization? The amount sits in a wallet system that is practically useless.

Please stop scamming people like me, who have never even heard of your company before.
