The Nōten Hanten I ordered was better than I expected! It is extremely well made, comfortable and warm in addition to being beautiful. I am considering ordering another similar one soon.

Very well made, purchased as a gift. One size fits all. A bit large for a smaller person.

The quality is dire. The Samue is ridiculously thin and leaves threads and bits of material everywhere. The Hanten one size fits all is ginormous. I’ve spotted the exact same garment on Ali Express for a quarter of the price. I fear it’s a drop ship company with nice marketing.

Bought 3 padded Hantens- great quality and beautiful. More importantly, kept me and my sons snugged and warm in the cold weather. Kimonoji also made shopping online easy and got the Hansen to us quick enough, in time for Christmas. Highly recommended.

The jacket is beautifully made and with lovely fabric. Absolutely excellent customer service and very responsive to any questions. Would recommend.

Don't be fooled by the advertising: poor quality generic items at a premium price. You can find the exact same items on AliExpress for a third of the price. The samue set was thin and wrinkly and came with the labels cut out, presumably to disguise the dropshipping. Too much hassle to send back.

I bought 3 pieces the hanten, the green robe and the pijama set.
All amazing, the pijama material is lovely and the robe is so luxurious. I bought that one for my mom's Christmas present, I am having one for me next time

The kimono’s are absolutely beautiful. I bought three one for each of my girls for Christmas. We recently returned from Japan and they take me right back there when I look at them. The customer service was excellent. It took a long time to arrive but the staff kept reassuring me that they were on their way. They arrived and well worth the wait. Merry Christmas!

Very pleased but took a while to get to UK. Was kept informed throughout. Nice material. Bought as a gift and they were very happy. 5 stars.

I have made 4 trips to Japan and have always loved the lounge/onsen wear provided by the hotels. When I saw Kimonoji, I knew I had to buy their product. I bought the Akane Samue set and I love it!

Received a Samue set and a Hanten from this company. The material used in the samue set is not fit for purpose; thin, wrinkly and can only be washed in a cold wash. Given that these can be used as pyjamas, you would expect to be able to wash them at a hygienic temperature.
The Hanten that was sent is not the same colour as the one ordered. The fit on the shoulder is very peculiar as well.
I would not recommend this company at all and I suspect all the positive reviews are from people paid to write them.

My love for Japanese culture always been big for years, and when the kimono i bought makes me feel in Japan.
The quality is excellent, and looks extremely good, keeping me warm and stylish at the same time.
I recommend to everyone.

Ordered on 19/10/2025. Items shipped from mainland China and arrived in the UK on 27/10/2025.

The quality was dreadful, tissue paper thin, semi transparent, and nothing like the thick, premium fabric shown in the photos and described on the site. Easily the worst clothing I’ve ever bought online.

Contacted Kimonoji on 29th October to return everything. They refused a prepaid return label and insisted I ship the items back to their U.S. warehouse at my own expense.

I had to send photos of every single item including the thank you post card, waited days for the return address, and then pay the postage myself. Almost £40 post office.

After posting the parcel on 12th November there was total silence until I chased on 20th November, and then chased again and again.

Finally received a partial refund on 29th November, with the full return postage cost ant my expense and an extra £3.06 “handling fee” taken off.

Essentially punished for returning their misleading, low-quality products. Customer service was slow, obstructive, and clearly intended to make returns as difficult as possible.

Avoid this company. Shop literally anywhere else.

Drop ship company that sells badly made cheap stuff but presents it as authentic Japanese.

All of their items are from Alibaba where they cost 3 times less. Check for yourself with an image search of any of their items.

Cheap almost translucent fabrics, uneven badly made seams, awful quality. Items arrive with labels literally cut off or some random brand labels attached. Sizes are all wrong.

This company is based in the US, so if you ask to return items based on faulty or not as described, they don't respect their own return policy and insist that it's our personal preference to return, so you need to do it at your expense and pay a handling fee too.

Looking for something nice other than an old sweatshirt. This did it. Love it.
