My experience was of a friendly, professional service when I sold my car. I got a fair price and the whole process was quick, easy and stress free. Couldn’t ask for more.

The whole process was quick

The whole process was quick, efficient and surprisingly easy with selling my car. Motorway did the initial valuation and Kent Car Centre offered more at auction, which I was very pleased with. As arranged, Alex from Kent Car Centre arrived within the time slot and after a test run and check, did offer less than the auction price, but the offer was still more than Motorway’s valuation. I accepted and am happy with the offer and Kent Car Centre also have a very nice Fiat 500!

Smooth Experience from Start to Finish

From the moment I walked into Kent Car Centre, I felt welcomed and looked after. The team really took the time to understand my needs and helped me find the perfect family car within my budget. Everything from the test drive to the finance options was explained clearly. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

Happy Ending

I was ready to type a really scathing review but Kent Car Centre pulled off. I sold my car via Motorway like a lot of the negative reviews. Got a good price and was happy. They came out over a week later to complete the sale and check the car - I know nothing about the mechanics of cars but was honest with the bodywork. The guy spent about 15-20 mins checking and test driving it. Came back with a few issues and offered £1100 less than the original Motorway price. No thanks - and he walked away. Came back 5 mins later and offered another £500 out of nowhere. Still, no thanks. Then got a phone call from the office offering the full price - accepted. The chap on the phone gave a clearly made up story about the offers being wrong and apologised. Fair enough. Arranged for collection the next day and a really nice bloke turned up, paid for it and took it away with no fuss. So yes, I was fuming when the first offer was so low and I was ready to write a bad review but actually I was happy in the end. So, thank you Kent Car Centre. I just felt the awkwardness of the low-ball offers was unnecessary but I guess they have to try and save money where they can.

Very Helpful staff

I purchased a car for my father-in-law. At the Kent car Center. I must say that I found their service to be excellent, not pushy at all. They gave me good advice and carried out all repairs on the vehicle that I asked them to do. They also delivered the car to my father-in-law`s home, and kindly helped him to Rd. tax the vehicle. This is the second car we have purchased from this company. We have found them to be excellent and I would thoroughly recommend them.

Poor selling experience with dealer

Similar issues to other reviewers. Sold car to these guys via Motorway for £2900. This was just below original valuation, with bluetooth not working. We arranged collection and a technician came to look over car. I made him aware that front passenger electric window not working - I had only discovered this after auction. He also discovered the rear window wasn't working, so I did expect a slightly lower sale price. After the test drive he said clutch needed replacing as bite point near floor. This was a surprise but I'm not a mechanic so could be true. Revised offer was £2000, which seemed a steep reduction, bearing in mind having no bluetooth hadn't affected original sale price by much. On reflection I should have rejected, but we needed to sell. Be interested to see what price the car goes up for sale as and what work has been done. Disappointed that vehicle not taken at the time of sale, had to wait to next day. Original call to car dealer indicated car would be picked up previous day. Registration EN62OWA Hyundai i30.

Update: Car up for sale for over £4000. Check bluetooth now working and clutch replaced, if you buy it.

Misleading bid on Motorway and Cowboy tactics

Misleading bid on Motorway, turned up and proceeded to find faults with the car which included a full DPF and water in the oil, which is very strange as the car had just had a service at Audi and showed no signs of coolant issues. checked the car after he left and the dipstick was clean, no emulsification and no signs of collection under the oil cap. When I plugged it into VAGCOM it showed a calculated soot load of 5g and measured soot load of 0.9g. These guys offer a high bid on Motorway and then proceed to nock you down via devious ways most people either wouldn't understand or have the means to check.

DO NOT SELL YOUR CAR HERE… WASTE OF…

DO NOT SELL YOUR CAR HERE… WASTE OF TIME!!!

Put my car up for bid Via motoway and the next day was told was being sold to Kent car Centre… Got a call booking an appointment for what we thought was to be collecting the car… the first appointment they gave me was a PM slot… i asked what time this would be and they said between 12pm and 6pm… so what wait around 6 hours for it to be collected so I had to move it as for work i’m not in the country 90% of the time… the next available appointment was 2 weeks after the sale was made…

when the man arrived he took the key of the car and run a few tests and took it for a 10 min test drive… he returned to the house which he stated he’s refusing the car and walked off…

So to be told this after 2 weeks of what we thought the car was going to be collected and then not…. a bit of a joke to be honest

Not trusted

I had an appointment with them together with pre-purchase mechanic.
They sold the car and they didn't notify me.
As a result a 150 miles trip and 200gbp bill.

Winning bid via Motorway

Like other reviewers, Kent Car Centre, were the winning bidders of the auction of our car on Motorway. The representative made various comments about the vehicle, including mentioning "error codes" discovered when he had plugged in a code reader. This was surprising to us as there have never been any dashboard warning lights come up and the car has been regularly serviced and well maintained. He offered £700 below the winning bid. He subsequently increased it but this offer was still only the trade price of the car and significantly less than the bid they had won the auction on.

On the Motorway website it says:
"Provided you’ve accurately profiled your car, the dealer is committed to pay the amount you agreed by accepting your highest offer. The dealer will only suggest a lower amount on the day of sale
if anything is materially different to the details you shared in the profiling step"

I am not sure that Kent Car Centre has read this.
We did accurately profile our car and nothing was materially different.

Really disappointing and a complete waste of our time!

Sold car via Motorway where similar to…

Sold car via Motorway where similar to other review they placed a misleading bid. They arranged collection and then didn’t show up until several hours later where they then explained someone was here to ‘test’ the car prior to them agreeing to purchase and if they did, someone would collect it later - they had not explained this over the phone. They ran it through a computer and despite there being no dash warning lights on they found many ‘faults’ (despite it driving fine and having a full service history) resulting in them offering a price less than WBAC. I said I would drop it to them and left. They then returned with an increased offer which was still £900 less than the original bid price. It was pushy, uncomfortable and might as well have done a private sale.

If you sell to them via motorway, I would just re-list.

Great service

Purchased a vehicle from the Kent Car Centre last week. The service we received was excellent, no hard sales, just professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Particular praise goes to Stevie. She was extremely friendly, helpful and professional in all interactions. I highly recommend.

Kent Car Centre gave misleading bid via Motorway, blamed Motorway for their bid, lied about having to paint the car, smirked as they offered service, lied over the phone about impact of a few chips and scuffs on a 13 year old car ...they gouge as they buy ...they gouge as the sell. sheer greed. happy to engage with Trust Pilot on this.
