I recently purchased the Kayhan Stereo…

I recently purchased the Kayhan Stereo version 9, and unfortunately, it has been nothing short of a headache. Here are the issues I’ve encountered:

Functionality Problems: From day one, the unit has been problematic. The volume and air conditioning settings seem to have a mind of their own, changing without any input. It’s frustrating to deal with a product that doesn’t function as expected.
Connectivity Woes: Despite my efforts, the stereo wouldn’t connect to my phone. Strangely, it worked fine with my husband’s device. Additionally, the requirement for an Android account caught me off guard. Why should I need an account just to use a car stereo?
Customer Service Nightmare: My husband spent nearly six hours on chat with Kayhan’s customer service team, trying to resolve the issues. Unfortunately, their solutions were unclear, and the experience left us feeling frustrated.
Return Process Hassle: Now they’re asking us to send the unit back for a refund. Fine, except we’ll have to pay for postage. And there’s a catch: if there are any scratches on the unit, no refund. It’s like navigating a maze just to get our money back.
In summary, the Kayhan Stereo version 9 has been a disappointment. I expected better quality and support for the price I paid. If you’re considering this product, proceed with caution. There are better options out there.

Unfortunately having to report this…

Unfortunately having to report this company to ACCC, they don’t honour refunds, they don’t provide support, but they are very good at responding when it comes to taking your money.

Avoid like the plague.

I'll start my review with these guys couldn't lie straight in bed. Dodgy brothers rebranded Chinese car stereos would be a more suitable name for their company. They will tell you anything to get a sale, even if its a lie and they'll try every trick in the book to get you to buy the extras even if they don't work, are not fit for purpose or you don't need them. I bought the new V4 unit for a Falcon FG Mk2. I waited several years for them to finally get better reviews than the terrible rep they were getting for their earlier units. I asked an extensive amount of questions after making a long list and got all the right answers prior to the sale but not a lot of them were true. I paid and extra $45 for the factory mic and reversing camera adapter which still does not let the factory microphone work, I bought that for the microphone alones as I don't have a factory reverse camera. You have to install their microphone or an aftermarket microphone. Factory mic works, Lie #1.
Then there's the cheap wired android auto, do not waste $150 on this as it puts out half an amp and your phone battery drains as you use it. I drove from Melbourne to Bendigo yesterday and instead of charging the phone which you need working for android auto the charge went from 95% to 65% in 160 kms. Forget about this add on and just hotspot your phone to your head-unit. Install the apps you want to use with android auto on your head-unit and save yourself the frustration. Phone charging, Lie #2.
I was told I could change the boot animation on the head unit and there's even a preinstalled app on the unit to do so, the app does not work and now their support is saying I can't change it due to copyright reasons. You can change it as there is a kayhan boot animation on it. Lie #3.
I've had to use support twice, first time they didn't know the answer regarding a connector to the cars loom which is an interference fit and does not clip in place, they finally worked that out after "Robert Smith" had to ask the "engineers" and the second support was regarding the boot animation that I was told I could change before I bought the unit but after they got my money suddenly there's a copyright reason for this.
To top it all off I bought the unit during COVID and masks were required in retail premises at the time. I wore a mask out of courtesy for their staff but the sleazy salesmen could not afford me, the paying customer the same courtesy. I should have walked out that day. I would suggest if you're looking at buying one of these units walk away and save yourself the heartache of having to deal with liars.
There's a users group for tips and trick on facebook, Taran from Kayhan was sending users there to get answers about technical questions instead of offering his customer's actual support. This is after they'd dished out well over $1k for one of these units. When I called him out, he blocked me. What a champion. Join the facebook group and see some of the issues people are facing before you spend your hard earned cash on what will become a problem installed in your dashboard.

TLDR, they're shifty and they lie, if your stock unit has failed get a reco or second hand one. Don't trust these people. Don't waste your money.
