Just got my taxes done by rise they charged me $535 nearly twice as much as last year I ased receptionists why so much she said because I didn't ad my recipes up .I've never added up before my old tax preparer recommended her I only used her couple yrs .I work a regular job with a couple rentals. Seems way high I called a tax preparer when I got back from there explained my situation and what I had she told me $175 that's what I used to pay my old preparer he retired. They lost my business 3 months I waited to be done and charged $535 Bill Rohe

Working with rise accounting was again a real pleasure. They entered all the transactions very promptly, answered all my tax related questions and filed the accounts. I think that their fees are very competitive.

Rise Accounting are always on time and support us reliably with all accounting matters. The process is simple, the team's straightforward and we can trust them. As a young company, we are grateful for their comprehensive service.

Our experience with this company was extremely disappointing and has cost us significantly, both financially and in time.

1. Misleading Communication: We were explicitly told our accountant would be London-based. After months of emails being misunderstood, responses taking days, and being unable to reach our accountant by phone, we discovered they were actually based in India. This was a clear misrepresentation.

2. Payroll Errors: Numerous mistakes were made with our payroll, including payslips not being submitted on agreed dates and incorrect amounts being calculated.

3. VAT Return Failures: All three of our VAT returns were submitted late with no prior communication. One return was so inaccurate that it initially showed we owed over £10,000, when in fact we were entitled to a £16,000 refund - an error we had to correct ourselves.

4. Abandoned Mid-Resolution: The senior accountant acknowledged and apologised for these issues, then left the company without any notice while still in the process of resolving our problems.

5. Damaged Bookkeeping Records: Bank lines were deleted from our bookkeeping system, requiring us to pay thousands of pounds to another firm to rectify the damage.

6. Delayed Handover: After terminating our agreement, it took over a month past the agreed deadline for them to transfer our information to our new accountants.

This is not even half of the problems we experienced. We cannot recommend this company to anyone.

Helpful team, proactive support, good value

After a dreadful previous experience with "startup-focused" accountants whose attempt to automate accounting created more stress and issues than help (incorrect registrations and notifications) I researched extensively before choosing Jump for Datent.

What made Jump stand out:

You get an actual dedicated team. I always have the same amazing team who know me, the startup and help with any question.

Support that scales with you. They have the capability to provide a complete finance function as we grow and fundraising support when needed - future-proofing our accounting relationship.

But most of all (and something I didn't expect I needed) their support is amazign in challenging times. During our first year-end and first real pivot and crunch point I had a personal crisis that took me away from work for 6 weeks. As life took priority, I missed numerous communications from Jump and despite that they understood and remained on top of everything to the point of calling me to chase for the 1 remaining piece of info to complete my personal tax return on time.

Jump's service is a perfect balance of professional excellence and personal understanding.

For any founders who want accounting that actually simplifies their lives rather than complicating them, Jump is the choice.
