Disappointing experience from Belgium Branch

After a previously positive experience with TUI in the UK to Mexico, I found a flight with TUIFly Belgium to Mexico and booked. It was affordable, especially since I was booking just one-way they don’t penalise for a non-return booking. Aside from the price — the service lacked thereafter. Unlike with my UK flight I had to call customer service to request a vegan meal for my flight, it took almost 90 minutes of my time and actually cost me €21 in caller fees! I then discovered there was no vegan meal waiting for me on the flight which was very frustrating! I had to pay for snacks and a meal on their menu instead. The other challenge I had with this flight was I paid €40 to choose my seat as I didn’t want a middle one which was assigned… but after the first hour people who clearly had not paid to sit in the seats next to me decided to move… which meant my lovely 3-row isle which was a surprise became sitting next to two drunk passengers who opted to move from the back to the front. I wouldn’t book again with TUI in Belgium because of these issues — but I would try the UK branch again as that was more of a 4/5 experience.

It's not so bad

It's ok, but not fantastic.
eg. trouble on the aircraft = they do not give enough info.

As you land in Zanzibar, before flying 20 minutes onwards, they just look at the people boarding from ZNZ.
They all look for a seat, try to get their luggage close to them as possible.. and it takes ages !!!

Instead of repeating into the PA system SEVERAL TIMES :
''please sit down anywhere, next flight is only 20 minutes and the you'll have to disembark again''

No. They just say it once and that's it.SO pax who were in the line when they mentioned this ONCE when the first people come in...

Verry annoying.

Decent

No big problems whatsoever. It's what you expect from the price.
Minor remarks:
-The first flight was slightly delayed but this was not jetair's fault.
-The flight attendant wasn't really comprehensible, bad articulation.
-Cabin temperature wasn't regulated properly. Went from hot to cold to hot etc.

Worst than Ryanair

- Flight was almost 2 hours late, but we didn't receive any information (SMS!) - contrary to the tourists that apparently also booked a hotel with TUI, they arrived later of course - thus in additional to the three hours upfront at the airport, we had to wait 5 hours at an airport where there was nothing to do
- Economy class is shabby even though we flew a Dreamliner, the toilets are disgusting, so we used the toilets of the premium class, which we were acutally not allowed to
- Plane wasn't cleaned when we had a stopover to let out most other passengers
