Terrible experiences ordering online.
I strongly dislike jbhifi. I mean i find myself making online orders from them every few months, but the tally of bad experiences arent a one off. In the last 6 months: chose the cheapest postage, never arrived, was needed to be on the chat service for 3 hours in total to get a refund. Collectors items arrived damaged from the warehouse (sent in boxes that arrived unharmed externally), and today was sent an official sony product with the seal broken, so was either a return or damaged etc that they wouldnt have been able to sell at a store.
Just like the impression you get when going into stores these days, i wouldn't trust the entire company further than you can throw em as they say. Sellers on ebay take themselves more seriously than these guys.
Poor Customer service
Poor Customer service, False/miscommunication/misleading their customers,
Contacted to price match for one of the Apple products, but I was advised that the Digi Direct is not an authorised retailer for selling apple products, contacted Digi Direct had 50 mins of conversation and eventually they advised to contact Apple support directly.
So, called Apple support (+61 1300 321 456), they confirmed "Digi Direct is their official and authorised retailer", Went back to Jb hifi, because this is really not good spreading the wrong information, it felt like they were sort of trying to convince me to buy the item from their store for higher price! (as they mentioned there can be issues with the warranty if I buy from Digi Direct), instead of investigating this I got response that this information was provided by their product team and that is why digi-direct is considered as an unauthorised retailer for Apple products LOL.....!! which I don't really care, as I got information from the JB hifi representative which means this is what business has advised me!
And meanwhile the apple product got out of stock/Awaiting stock on Digi Direct! And still JB hifi didn't considered Digi Direct as authorised retailer, Now I was very annoyed! I requested the JB Hifi adviser to transfer me to the product team or someone who can call and confirm with Apple - as I have already confirmed this and I am certain that Digi Direct is an authorised retailer! But the person said I can add my feedback lol.... (Not even sure if someone from JB hifi will ever see my comment!) in the end the chat was not transferred!
Then I called Jb Hifi support (+61 135244), Same response and same explanation (not surprised) and she was not letting me speak, according to her I was being rude as I said that JB hifi Customer support is miscommunicating and misleading their customers! Interesting, she insisted me not to say that but I will still say that unless JB Hifi stop making these miscommunications as I don't really care whom I am speaking with (Call is recorded they can always check who was rude and who wasn't), but the JB Hifi representative should understand that they are representing themselves as they are representing a business. If, calling JB HIFI customer support is miscommunicating/misleading rude for JB Hifi as a business, then calling Digi Direct as an unauthorised Apple retailer (false claim — feel free to verify with Apple support) is rude too! Overall Worst conversation I had with any customer support!
Also not to forget! I was threatened by the adviser that she will hang-up my call which is ridiculous — there was no empthy, felt like she didn't even want to have a conversation! This explains if you have any issues with any product bought from JB hifi and if you contact JB hifi customer support: you never know, you might be treated like this!
I have been a loyal customer of Jb Hifi, they can check and verify my record, bought like 5 phones in last 2 years from them — but not anymore due to this incident! Small thing has become huge now! Because Jb hifi don't even agree that their information was incorrect or outdated! It was easy to apologise and politely say that the information was outdated but no they chose to fight and being rude!
And if you can't match price, you can politely say that according to your competitor's list you are unable to match the price for Apple products etc.! It was simple and easy — rather than causing such a scene by giving false information!
I spend my 2-3 hours on this mess and lost the opportunity to buy the item from Digi Direct as I thought it was not an authorised business to sell apple products — Thanks to Jb Hifi Support Team!
Didn't even hear "apologise" single time from the person on call! WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT!! I would never recommend anyone to buy anything from Jb Hifi anymore unless there is an exclusive JB HIFI item.
Jb hifi is free to check my record, I have never been rude to them in the past! Very UNHAPPY/UNSATISFIED with the customer support!
Amazing customer service
Amazing customer service, friendly and always ready to offer help. The prices are the best you will find in all of Australia, and it is always worth it to shop here.
Jb has degenerated. Never again.
I’ve been shopping at JB Hi-Fi since I was a young musician, back when staff actually knew their products, listened to customers, and gave genuine service and a good deal. Sadly, the company is nothing like that anymore.
Theyre very nice when rushing to sell you whatever they can. They pretended to give me a “deal” while not even price matching the good guys across the carpark. The customer service has completely deteriorated.
I bought a TCL TV through JB Hi-Fi Essendon, and have had ongoing problems from the start. I was sold a soundbar setup that didn’t work properly, had installation issues, had to exchange soundbars twice, have had 3 lots of technicians install only to find it was the HDMI cable that was faulty. And after paying for a “cordless” wall install I ended up with visible cords showing anyway because of the defective cable and incorrect advice which they refuse to fix for me as it would involve paying another technician which they won't do to resolve the situation. I have had endless stress.
Every time there’s a problem, i was treated like i was an inconvenience instead of the customer. The manager even spoke over the top of me like I wasn't even speaking and cutting me off.
JB Hi-Fi used to care about long-term customers. Now it feels like once they’ve made the sale, they wash their hands of you and push you between departments and manufacturers hoping you’ll give up.
After years of loyalty, I can honestly say I’ll never shop there again.
I visited the Australia Fair store…FANTASTIC!
I visited the Australia Fair store today and bought about $500 bucks worth of security cameras. The staff were fantastic; they were very helpful and a pleasure to be served by! All top shelf workers who were professional and friendly. Thanks a lot. I'll be back soon.
Bose and JB hi fi
We purchased headphones. The colour on the box did not represent what was inside and the store had no samples when we made the purchase. I returned back to the store 30 minutes later in an attempt to return them but was told ‘no, due to health and safety’. Tried Bose customer service first which is practically non existent. Then went to JB online customer service, position 160 in the queue and it cut out at one. Eventually got through after starting again. Basically spent 3 hours online only to be given the same response.
Very disappointing experience…
Very disappointing experience purchasing through the JB Hi-Fi Marketplace.
I purchased a HOTO 4-in-1 Air Duster and Vacuum as a gift through JB Hi-Fi, however the item arrived appearing already opened and/or previously used. The protective wrapping had already been opened and there was visible brown dust/debris throughout the vacuum head and internal filter system before the device had even been used once.
I had to send multiple follow-up emails and complaints before finally receiving a response.
While JB Hi-Fi acknowledged the product “was not up to standard,” the overall experience has been frustrating and inconvenient, especially considering the product was purchased through the JB Hi-Fi platform and intended as a gift.
Very disappointed with the quality control, handling of the issue, and overall customer experience in this instance.
Shop somewhere else
I seriously have no idea why anyone shops here. The prices are 2-20x more than what you would pay elsewhere, you are regularly solicited with scams and spam if you engage with the staff ... who honestly most of the time are more useless than asking a fellow customer in the store.
This experience is really that of what I find in every single JB HI FI across the country. I really am baffled at how they manage to operate in most cities.
Ultimate Gift voucher NOT accepted, terrible online support staff
Be careful, the payment website does not accept Ultimate gift cards. You need to exchange them for JB Hifi cards. But instead of telling you this, the STUPID website simply states "Give it another go or try another payment method". Why would I try another payment method when I have spent $400 on gift cards to use on the JB website. Horrible online chat support, no acknowledgement of their defective payment screen nor apology for wasting so much of our time. This is a clear case of misleading and deceptive conduct .
Extremely frustrating experience with…
Extremely frustrating experience with JB Hi-Fi's online chat support.
I contacted JB Hi-Fi to enquire about clearance items that were still being advertised on their website. After spending a significant amount of time in the chat, I was told that none of the products I was interested in were actually available.
The biggest issue was that the chat system kept freezing and would not allow me to type responses. While I was trying to respond, the consultant, Rhys, closed the chat due to inactivity, even though we were actively in the middle of a conversation. It's hard to reply when the system won't let you type.
I also question why products continue to be advertised in the clearance section when there is little to no stock available. Customers shouldn't have to waste their time chasing products that can't be purchased.
Poor website accuracy, poor chat system, and a disappointing customer experience overall. I expected much better from a retailer of JB Hi-Fi's size.
Ordered two heaters
Ordered two heaters, 3 months ago, never turned up. Australia Post confirmed they started the process but never finished up. Can't get in contact, either rings out, put on hold and hung up on. Unable to get refund due to them shutting down the store where the order was placed. Been shopping with then for decades and will be going else where to the disgusting service online and in store. Must be a new CEO, so their to blame.
Good I pad
Good I pad. Staff was very helpful. Only reason I dropped a star was the security guard was an annoyance when I left asking for my receipts to scan. Like I could steal an I pad and a big bright yellow bag to carry it in. Way to annoy a happy shopper
Make sure you get a name when someone gives you information
I recently purchased a Samsung Phone from JB hi-fi,however I found the keyboard to be too small. I rang JB hi-fi 2 days after I had started to use the phone and was told by a staff member that if the phone was reset, I had the invoice and the phone was in pristine condition there would be no problem getting it changed. My son reset it and took it back but was then told the information I had been given was totally wrong and refused to take the phone back. Unfortunately because the original staff member had sounded so knowledgeable I didn't ask her name! A mistake I will not make in the future. JB Hi-fi should make sure it's staff are well trained before allowing them to serve customers
JBHIFI is Not a HIFI store!
JBHIFI is Not a HIFI store!
They don't have any HIFI in their store.
They take over the towns, and their traditional music stores then cease to exist.
JBHIFI has the most pathetic selection of cds and vinyl especially in Ballarat.
Not much help from staff as they are always under staffed
worse printer I ever had avoid HP DeskJet 2820e
I bought an HP printer from them at the end of 2025 — the HP DeskJet 2820e — and it is literally the worst printer I’ve ever had. It fails to print about 90% of the time. I’ve also wasted so much ink because it randomly prints entire pages completely covered in colour or black ink.
I only bought it for very basic black-and-white printing, mainly to print contracts, and it couldn’t even do that properly.
Once again Coffs Harbour store…
Once again Coffs Harbour store constantly under staffed. Went in waiting, waiting, waiting, decided to walk out only to find two staff standing talking. I advised they needed more support staff. Instead of saying how can l help you she stated we get very busy when it rains. I guess young lady, 6 people in store would be a very hard day for you.
Unable to purchase pokemon online
Removing items from instore only for it to sell out in seconds online.
Bring back tcg instore!
JBHiFI needs to fix their TCG methods
JBHiFI is normally great, consistently low prices and great customer service. But I'm leaving this review because of how they handle Pokemon TCG. Genuinely makes me so mad. JB every now and then re-release certain TCG items for example recently the prismatic evolutions UPC. Well it lasted a mere few seconds online first of all, because as soon as I found out people bought some I jumped to their website and got nothing. And second of all, nobody is aware of these random drops, only people who pay for monthly subscriptions to places like "dropzone" get advance notice of these drops. Which is even more crap because it's literally pay to win. I think there needs to be change in the TCG regard, and I have lost all hope trying to buy any products at RRP anymore, especially from JB.
I would like to thank the guys you…
I would like to thank the guys you helped me out with my IPhone 17Pro today (12/05/26). They tried everything to retrieve my photos. They were ever so helpful. Thank you.
