I ordered a Boston backpack for $169.00…
I ordered a Boston backpack for $169.00 dollars. Package arrived 4 weeks later. Opened package to find a Chinese label and not what I ordered.
Contacted customer service, they apologized and offered me a 20% discount to keep or I could return at my expense to China for a possible refund.
I replied NOT acceptable. Ask to simply send what was ordered.
They replied offering 30% discount with no answer to shipping correct item.
I again stated a discount on something I did not order is NOT a discount, that would be a 70% charge for the wrong product.
Again they replied with NO answer to sending the correct item, instead up the discount to 40%.
What a waste of time and energy.
I thought I was buying American made product and would NOT have considered had I know it was coming from China.
If I purchased a product from Amazon. I would have already had my refund.
Had the same experience as the other 1…
Had the same experience as the other 1 star folks. Received the wrong item with unacceptable return process. They got us. Chalk it up to a lesson in dealing with the Chinese. I hope they don’t wonder Americans don’t trust them at all.
Don't be Fooled by this advert
I am rarely EVER this critical about a company but people NEED to know. The whole company is a Sham ..its nothing to do with America like they want you to believe, it's from China. As for the old guy retiring look at end of ad est 2025..pretty old for this year. I've just bought one of their bags, first it wouldn't let me pick grey in the ROME backpack. So I got coffee they looked amazing. i even sold my leather backpack ready. To be fair if it was £30 it would have been OK. It's not shoddy work. But originally 300+, then,130+ and finally I got cheated at 91£. DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THE PICTURES OR THE ADVERT. You can't write a reveiw on site. To be fair they did reply through PayPal and offer me some cash back, or send it back to China, yeah that'll be cheap.
DO NOT TRUST THESE CHINESE CONS!
DO NOT TRUST THESE CHINESE CONS!
Read the reviews before you buy from them. They are NOT a one man American company, everything about them is a total fraud. When you check out their contact information at the bottom of the page, it is clearly a Hong Kong China company. And the website and contact email don't exist. I'd guess the phone number is a fraud as well.
I had to call my credit card company and dispute the charges, which stops payment. They showed the orders as pending at that time, yet the next day they show the items as shipped. Absolutely a red flag. Total crooks.
This is why China has a rotten reputation for business.
Another scam site
Another scam site; i wonder if it is run by the same people who run Tanner shoes?
Absolute garbage
Absolute garbage, both company and product.
This Chinese product, yes not US manufacture, and no doubt not US design , is made of vinyl and has never seen leather in the whole manufacturing process.
Im afraid it reeks of another AI scam
Total scam
Total scam. Not made in the USA as described online. Arrives from Hong Kong. Cheap vinyl that looks nothing like the bag on the website. Save your time and money.
Disappointing experience – misleading marketing, shipped from China
I purchased a bag from James Andrew for £121, based on a slick advert that suggested it was a handmade, designer item crafted in the US. However, when it arrived, the packaging and postal information clearly showed it had been sent directly from China.
I ran a reverse image search and found the exact same bag being sold on multiple websites, with the cheapest listing at £46.23 on AliExpress. It became clear the seller is likely dropshipping standard products from China while marketing them as premium, handcrafted goods.
When I tried to return the item, my requests were ignored. I had to initiate a chargeback through my bank to recover my money. The use of AI-generated images, video adverts, and carefully curated branding creates a false sense of exclusivity. Shoppers deserve honesty about product origin and value.
This appears to be either a Chinese seller masquerading as a boutique American brand, or a bedroom-based dropshipper charging luxury prices for mass-produced goods.
James-Andrews.com SCAM
I purchased the Boston backpack for $169.95 on May 7th, 2025 received my package two weeks later. It is not leather, it is vinyl. It's about half the size stated, has one inside compartment and one small compartment on the front. One weak zipper, no water bottle holder. Straps are 1" wide with cloth on the back. No place to strap a laptop on the one internal pocket. It's a total misrepresentation of the product I ordered and worth maybe $20.00. To return it would cost $60.00 per UPS/FEDEX to China and they require a tracking number which you cannot get for delivery in China! Total SCAM with unattainable return requirements.
DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM JAMES-ANDREWS.COM
This Is a Chinese Company
This company is a complete lie. I ordered two bags in early April. They didn’t arrive until the end of May. When I tracked the packages, I found that they were sitting in a warehouse IN CHINA!!! When the products finally arrived one of the backpacks wasn’t even real leather! Apparently there is nothing in place to prevent Chinese vendors from false advertising and fraud. I’m sure now that there is nothing James Andrews, and that this whole prevarication by some Chinese entity was simply made to target American consumers.
Youtube scam
I saw an ad on YouTube for quality leather bags which I checked out first with the Scam Detector website and Trustpilot and I can see that it's a scam. It's a recently registered domain name and it's hiding its owners identity so these are highly suspect as what legitimate business hides the owners information? I'm also pretty sure most of the positive Trustpilot reviews have been added by the scammers, 99% have only ever left this one review and all over a 6 week period. These suspicious reviews use very similar language and that would indicate they are likely to have been written by the same person. Pay attention to growing number of negative reviews from people who have actually ordered the bags and received a cheap plastic bag direct from China instead of hand tooled leather from America. I urge people to beware of this website as its most likely a scam
TOTAL SCAM
Ordered a large leather computer bag ($169.00). It took over a month to receive (hence you can't stop payment with your credit card). When the bag finally came (from China), it was not what was advertised - it was a vinyl kids backpack. Asked for return information and was told to send back to China or Alternative solution: To protect the environment, we can offer you a 20% refund without you having to return the goods.
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM - SURE WISH I DIDN'T
Bait and Switch Scam. Watch Out!
Based in China, this seller is known on PayPal as Mode Boutique. I paid for a leather knapsack but received a cheap canvas backpack. They are trying to charge me for the return or keep the cheap bag and receive a partial refund. The Federal Trade Commission website informs consumers that we don't have to pay to return items we did not order. In addition, James Andrew, AKA Mode, has not stated that I will receive the leather knapsack I paid for.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER POSTING THIS NEGATIVE REVIEW, A FLOOD OF 5-STAR REVIEWS WAS GENERATED. I DON'T BELIEVE THEM. WATCH OUT FOR SCAMMERS!
Same scammers as Paul-Richard.com
Very obviously the same people as made paul-richard.com. The website is almost identical and they even used basically the same picture on their About page.
James Andrew sold me a premium leather…
James Andrew sold me a premium leather backpack. What I received was cheap Chinese-made vinyl garbage that would not pass muster as a kid's backpack at Walmart. Do not buy anything from these terrible people.
Advertisement is fake and the overnight…
Advertisement is fake and the overnight black duffle is not real leather. Faux with strong chemical smell. Conducted water test and beads up.. complete rip off. Had no idea this product is from China. False advertising.
110% Total Scam
110% Total Scam. Do Not Purchase !. Backpack arrived from China. Total waste of $159.
Absolutely rubbish and a con passing…
Absolutely rubbish and a con passing off Chinese import bags a professionally hand made. Buyer beware and keep your barge pole at the ready. Stupidly I paid £100 over the odds
This product is cheap China crap
This product is cheap China crap. I too got scammed. DON’T BUY ANYTHING FROM JAMES ANDREW. It’s not even leather. The pictures are misleading. The product you receive looks nothing like what you think you are ordering.
