IPIC's Popcorn is good. That's about it.
IPIC Atlanta is a beautiful theatre and has a sleek comfortable vibe but the service is TERRIBLE. They definitely try to be good at it. You walk in, are greeted by a person to make sure you made a reservation. You go up a LONG escalator and end about face-to-face (literally) with a greeter who directs you to the correct room. It's closer than I want to be to anyone right now during this pandemic. if you arrive with enough time you have plenty of time to order food, drinks, popcorn, etc. - the problem is getting the server to come take the order. We've been here twice only because we were gifted with a digital IPIC gift card. It unfortunately cannot be used to pay in your seat. The server has to take the phone away (and it has to be paid before the movie is over) so there was interruption during the movie not to mention the uncomfortable feeling of someone taking your phone away! Food...They didn't have the tuna available, so I tried the Brussels sprout app and it was oily and overly seasoned. The burger was chewy, cold and I couldn't see trying to eat anything. Server forgot napkins and did not come back to refill drinks. The movie looks great on that screen and audio is amazing...when it works! The Spider-Man: No Way Home movie suddenly stopped and we sat in the theatre for 30 minutes or so while they tried to get it back up. When they finally did, the movie started about 15 minutes before it crashed. At the end of the movie we waited to watch the special sneak peeks and were constantly interrupted and asked when we would be leaving because there was another group coming in - REALLY? Our server hunted down the manager after the movie and that took about 20 minutes. He gave our server free tickets to give to us for the inconvenience. He should have had those tickets ready for us as we walked out! The chairs - I personally do not like the big chairs because I am not tall enough for my neck to rest comfortably on the headrest. The LED blue light on the tables are angled at the screen and don't help with sight. They are just bright, ANNOYING and distracting. You have to push a button (that you can't see) to get service. Lighting for safety is questionable and seating must be designed for large men. The bathrooms are clean and nice looking except for when you hear the sticky floor under your shoes. Our specific hand sanitizer dispenser was empty so I had to go to another room entranceway to sanitize. I don't see why IPIC has an abundance of staff yet has slow and poor service. When I was waiting for the movie to come back on I went to the bar to get a refill (which was the slowest refill I've ever had) and there were like 6-8 people in the kitchen area just having a great time talking about their day. Maybe the theatre should train some of these extra employees on how to troubleshoot movie interruptions? I feel bad for people who had to pay to watch their movies here. Food is sub-par, service slow and as far as having a luxurious movie watching experience? I'd rather go to my local movie theatre where there are very little interruptions. I hope IPIC works on their efficiency. Keep up the good work on the popcorn!
