Only made the decision to get married this year at the beginning of January! Had no idea exactly where or even when. Sent an initial enquiry to Ionian Weddings and Lucy replied. Over the next few days, with a lot of research and many questions, we finally decided on a date and venue. Throughout it all Lucy was very responsive and provided the information we requested. She has been excellent and we definitely would not have got this wedding booked without all her help. Thank you so much. Now it’s full steam ahead to end of August 2024

We got married in Sorrento in Sept 2023. As soon as we started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to do it in Italy. We'd been to Sorrento 5 years prior for a holiday, and decided it would be the perfect destination as it offers enough for guests who like to sight-see and keep busy, but can equally be a relaxing chill by the pool or sea type of holiday. I'm also a very nostalgic person, so returning to a place we loved so much the first time was a no-brainer. Our wedding day was perfect and truly captured the classical and romantic Italian feel we wanted. We had our ceremony at the Cloisters followed by a reception at the Grand Hotel Royal. I had dreamt of sitting by the sea with the sun setting in the background during our wedding, and the views there were breathtaking & even better than I imagined. Our initial contact at Ionian was Pat who helped us with choosing our package. Maria was incredible during the entire planning process, always replying promptly and trying to accommodate our requests, and Viola (our co-ordinator in Italy) was exceptional. She was so thorough, organised and attentive that even some of our guests commented on what a great job she was doing on the day. Rosaria performed our ceremony and was lovely and warm. A huge grazie to you all. We received our wedding video a few weeks ago and I must have watched it at least 50 times already, it's almost like being back there...
If you are looking to plan a wedding abroad (particularly in Sorrento) then we highly recommend Ionian Weddings. I am not quite sure how we would have managed to plan such a special day without their help.

What can I say? It was simply perfect from beginning to end! The whole process was a dream and Maria was amazing!
We originally wanted to get married in Tuscany so flew to Florence in 2019 to view 2 venues which were perfect then covid hit. We waited until 2021 to start planning again and decided actually Sorrento was where we wanted to go.
Again we flew out viewed the cloisters (which we fell in love with) then 2 reception venues. Again both were perfect but decided on grand hotel royal!
Ionian kept us on track and organised everything down to every little detail. Anything we wanted we sent a picture to Maria who loaded with the wedding planners in Italy and booked it. They provide you with a brochure of things you can add to the package which just ensures you don’t miss anything!
The day was beautiful and simply perfect. Valeria was the coordinator on the day (but also met us earlier in the week to meet the florist/ photographer etc) and she just sorted everything- we didn’t have to worry about anything!
If you’re thinking of booking do! We had no idea where to start and we genuinely couldn’t have done it without them and can’t thank them enough! The whole experience was totally stress free and worth every penny. Thank you Ionian!

All I can say is WOW! I have always dreamed of getting married in Italy but was apprehensive about how difficult it would be and whether it would be a viable option for us. After looking at a few different companies online I discovered Ionian Weddings and loved how everything was customisable to suit every budget and there wasn't a huge fee added to the bill.

From the initial planning stages all the way to the big day they were always there answering questions and genuinely could not have been more helpful.

At no point did I feel overwhelmed or stressed, everything was taken care of. I was on a few Facebook groups with brides who were also getting married in Sorrento and seeing their struggles with legal documents and dealing with Italian vendors I felt so relieved that I had chosen a company to help me through all of it. Maria was fabulous and thought of every detail.

The team in Sorrento were unbelievable! Everything went so smooth and I could enjoy my day without having to think about a thing.

It was genuinely the best day of our lives and so many of our guests said the same! The day was faultless and it was definitely down to the excellent organisation of Ionian, the Sorrento Planning Team and Villa Antiche Mura.

The day exceeded all expectations and I would say if you're thinking of an abroad wedding, Ionian is a brilliant company to choose and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to all future brides!

I cannot thank Ionian weddings enough for the amazing service they provided us! From start to finish our wedding planning was made so easy and nothing was too much trouble. Our planner Helen was always so efficient at replying to any queries I had and went above and beyond to make sure our plans were perfectly in place.
We got married in Cyprus and as soon as we were there our wedding coordinator Leanne was again, amazing and efficient.

We recently had our Wedding in Santorini and I cannot thank Ionian Weddings enough. Everybody who has helped us along the way has offered great service but we were assigned Rachel as our official UK planner and we would just to like say that she was professional, helpful and was always happy to answer all of our questions and provided reassurance when needed. I got married in Tuscany in early September and it was magical.
It might not have seemed like the most sensible decision to plan my wedding while pursuing my postgraduate degree, but thanks to Ionian Weddings, the entire process was stress-free, and the wedding day itself was nothing short of amazing. I am just sad that I can't do it all over again!

Our Santorini wedding was planned by Rachel at Ionian Weddings and i can't express enough how stress free the process was thanks to Rachel & Katerina.

Everything was perfect including the process, quality and venue. The venue was AMAZING and more than we could ever have imagined! We thought all the wedding planning would cause a lot of stress but Rachel & Katerina turned everything we thought would be stressful into a stress free enjoyable wedding plan.

We had an amazing wedding and we would do it all over again if we could! A Santorini wedding organised by Ionian weddings is definitely the way to go!

Everything was perfect. I cant thank Rachel enough for planning our Santorini wedding. I was very disorganised and found it hard to get the details together and Rachel sorted everything out! After having a few months break from searching venues due to personal reasons, Lucy picked up exactly where we left off and was so kind and helpful. I’m so excited for our wedding 2024!

We’ve booked for April 2024! The process was very easy and Pat was wonderful in getting back to us when we had questions (even sometimes responding well into the night her time). We’re really excited for our wedding, and will come back to update once we’ve had it!

Originally we was unsure where we wanted to get married but with the help of ionian and their selection of destinations it was easy to pick sorrento. With the help of lindsay in the UK we was able to choose the setting of the wedding and it was such a smooth and easy process. When we arrived in sorrento Anna got in touch straight away, she showed us around and went through the itinerary which was really helpful. We made a few amendments and they were so amenable to this we couldn't have asked for a better experience so I highly recommend ionian weddings

Ionian were amazing wedding planners and created our dream day. We got married at Sorrento Cloisters and had our reception at the Fattoria Terranova farmhouse. The whole day was perfect and ran so smoothly. Our UK wedding planner was Maria who was fantastic and answered all of our many questions promptly. She was always available by phone and email (even on her days off) to discuss details of the day and made the planning process extremely enjoyable.

Our italian wedding planner Rosaria was incredible beyond words. We booked our wedding without visiting our venues (due to covid) and were nervous to finally see them only a few months before the wedding. When we met Rosaria at our pre wedding meeting in April, we knew we could put our complete trust in her to create the day of our dreams. She understood our vision and eased our nerves instantly. Both of the venues were truely phenomenal and we knew we had made the right decision in booking them. During our visit, she introduced us to the suppliers (who were all fantastic) and talked us through all of the details of the day. When we arrived back in Sorrento in August for the wedding we recieved the same exceptional service. Everything was so well organised and Rosaria went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us and our guests (even arranging a back up wedding car as it was forcast to rain and we had booked an open top car). We were incredibly grateful that she was our wedding interpreter as she helped to ease my nerves and emotions during the ceremony and she was fantastic at coordinating all of our guests. Everyone commented on how wonderful she was and how amazing all of the details were (from the lemon cart, to flowers and the smoothness of transport to and from the farmhouse).

The staff at the Terranova farmhouse were wonderful and were incredibly acccomdating and helpful to our grandparents who have limited mobility. Nothing was a problem and the wedding meal was exceptional.

I got married in Italy in August 2023 and was overwhelmed by the brilliance of my wedding coordinators. Maria (my UK planner) was amazing at making sure all my queries were answered (she even called me on leave when our flights were cancelled).

When we arrived in Italy, we were greeted by Viola who was superb. She was reassuring, considerate and totally focused on us having the day of our dreams. I don't think I will be able to adequately describe just how brilliant she was. Her attention to detail and meticulous planning made the day so utterly wonderful and she greatly reduced the anxiety. I cannot sing her praises highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble, nothing flummoxed her - she was just the perfect wedding coordinator and we are indebted to her.

I was introduced to Helen who was amazing poffessioanl and even though at times I had her up the wall on a she's was very efficient and poffessional and replied to me very quickly also not only.all the way threw but on the week before we had to leave Helen couldn't do enough for us still and that I will forever be greatful for when we arrived abroad belinda meet us and was amazing she went through everything she went above and beyond like Helen and fedricica and this we will forever be greatfull for belinda went back and forth with are documents objects we forgot and all add ons which we forgot when planning as we was far from Paphos and we will never be able to put into words how greatful.me and my.husband are for everything they all done and the company and also the staff at Liopetro so thankyou we would highly recommend for any couple who are thinking of planning abroad wedding honestly they are the best

We cannot thank the team at Ionian Weddings enough. From the moment we knew we wanted to have a destination wedding we were supported by Patricia who sent us a variety of different locations to match what we were looking for, she then talked us through the different locations and venues to help us choose the perfect destination for us. We were then passed on to our amazing UK wedding planner, Maria who was fantastic from start to finish, with her speedy communication, meeting with us to talk through the process and supporting us with all stages of our planning. Finally, we met with Marta who was our planner in Portugal. Marta met with us in Portugal before our big day to talk through the final details and to answer any questions we had, making us feel at ease as the day was approaching. On our wedding day she was there from the beginning of the day until the end, making sure everything ran smoothly and was delivered as we had planned. It truly was the most perfect day and more beautiful than we could have ever imagined and this was down to the amazing planning from the Ionian Wedding Team! With ionian the planning was very easy! We had a legal ceremony so our paperwork was different but they were able to accommodate odate support and advise.
It took the stress out of planning and organising our wedding and once we got to Italy, the coordinator Valeria immediately put us at ease when we met for our pre meeting. Everything was planned to a T. On the day it was like a well oiled machine. I had total faith in the team and they made the whole time so enjoyable. They made sure our guests and any children were all okay in the heat. Overall an amazing experience with Ionian. The only sad thing is its over!! Thank you so much x

Where do I begin, I honestly cannot put into words to explain just how incredible my wedding was, it was a fairy tale dream come true. My whole wedding planning experience with Ionian weddings has been outstanding from the very first day up until my special day they had it all covered. Very professional with so much experience and fantastic advice and ideas. Literally took the stress out of it all, which made my journey so much more enjoyable. My UK on hand planner Maria has been impeccable, there wasn't anything that was too much trouble, and helped make our wedding a reality. Our Sorrento planner Antonella was another amazing lady, from the first venue viewings and again on our wedding week bringing all of our vision to life in such a friendly, caring manor. We got married in Sorrento on 27th July 2023 with our ceremony being held in the ‘cloisters’ and our wedding venue at ‘Castore/hidden hillside gem’.

We were assigned Maria as our UK wedding planner and she was amazing. Knowledgable, supportive, organised, helpful and always on the end of the phone she was amazing. We visited our venue before our wedding day back in 2022 and we met our wedding planner in Italy ‘Anna’ - she was amazing, spoke excellent English, knew everyone in sorrento and provided us with knowledge, support and friendship throughout our time in Italy. We were lucky enough to have Anna for our wedding day and she was incredible. We still keep in touch now, always on the end of the phone.

We had a small issue in that my vintage car broke down (to be expected with vintage cars), however this did not affect me at all and Anna and the team made sure of this. I waited in our hotel and behind the scenes Anna found us a replica car which arrived in 40 minutes - to do that abroad, nor stress a very ‘organised’ bride was impressive!

Our wedding venue really was a ‘hidden hillside gem’, it honestly made our wedding and was better than the pictures! Guests are still talking about the service, food, view and extra touches provided by Castore. Silvana our event manager at castore made our dream come true and was the most dedicated, helpful person I have ever met. There are not enough words to say how amazing she was and how much of a gem that place is.

I could write millions more but won’t as short sweet usually captures the eye !
