No transparency, control of narratives

The company lies to the employer to the employee and never keeps evidence of anything. It is just phone "Narratives". They lie about company, salary, probation period. -Dont trust IO if you get hired and they get their fee - before you close it...READ THE CONTRACT and talk to employer...thats what matters...block them once you get into the company. Even the Director knows that, but complies, does not care about honesty or transparency...even worse if you get a recruiter there named "R" and loves phone lies...uhhh there are many possibilities, are there not? Mainly for Germany / Switzerland - where their comission is higher.

Awful chatbot AI interview

Awful chatbot AI interview, froze after 1st question.
Bad policy not allowing applications to companies a person has previously applied for in past 12 months.

God what can I say

God what can I say, nothing good that's for sure. I'll give a brief run down of my experience:

1. Worked with a recruiter to interview for a job. Recruiter told me I had the job on the Friday. Sunday she tells me I need to come in for another interview on the Monday. Told me it was merely a formality at this point. I was confused but I agree on such late notice. Interviewed. Waited, and waited. I emailed for updates. Nothing from the recruiter. A week later, I told by text, the job was given to someone internally.

2. Months laters, I'm contacted to see if I'm still interested in the original contract. Maybe it was a one off error or mistake? These things happen. I agreed. Had a brief interview because the client was already interested in working with me. Told me I basically had the job, just had to go through some checks on their side. Once again, told it was given internally.

3. A week later, I was told I had the job. Great, its actually happened this time. Go through onboarding, I work for a month, submit my timesheet, it was only then was I told that there is a 30-day payment period from when timesheets are submitted. I.e. I have to work 2 months to get paid. Fine, not ideal, but fine. Payment date arrives, nothing. 2 days later, still nothing. I reach out, there's some confusion about where the payment has gone. Zero effort or help on their side, I had to do some digging around, turns out they got my bank details wrong. So I politely let them know. This was their response: 'apologies, payment will be reset today'. That's it. The lack of care for their contractors is mind blowing. Funny story, I'm still yet to receive payment, I've been trying to call them, but apparently their phones don't work, and they're incapable of properly responding to emails. If you can, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Disappointing Experience with iO Associates

I recently had a very frustrating experience with iO Associates that I feel compelled to share. I received an unplanned call from their team (+41435507524). Despite being in a challenging situation to communicate effectively, I tried my best to engage. However, the call turned into a lengthy interrogation rather than a brief discussion to schedule an appointment.

To my dismay, the call was abruptly cut off, and I received no follow-up. This lack of professionalism and respect is something I have never encountered in my career before. I attempted to address my concerns directly via email, but unfortunately, I received no response.

I believe it’s crucial for companies to uphold a standard of respect and professionalism in their interactions. I hope sharing this experience will help others be cautious when dealing with them. Don’t forget that your values and experience merit full respect, and you deserve to engage only with those who uphold these standards.

Poor customer experience, not a real recruitment company.

Grim. This is an offshore call centre and not a recruitment agency. They have no jobs and when they do manage to answer the phone (without putting it down on you as soon as you start speaking) the staff don't make any sense. You cannot be put through to a manager and they don't seem to understand what you are saying. Avoid.

Sending "spam" mails to github.com mail addresses

For several weeks now, I have been receiving an unwanted newsletter at the email address I put on github.com. The newsletter contains job offers for developers. I have unsubscribed from this unwanted "newsletter" several times, unfortunately without success. I have also contact ioassociates.co.uk and asked to stop sending me this kind of emails. But no one responds to my request and I continue to receive this newsletter. Only solution was to block the domain.

It is sad that companies misuse public data like this and use it for advertising.

Kudos Craig Lawrence - Senior Consultant

Craig Lawrence has been instrumental in guiding and assisting me relentlessly during the whole process of my successful landing into a highly reputable engineering company, based in Central London. Right from the initial interview till the final offer, Craig remained engaged with me and updated me on the progress along the way. He provided useful tips as well on what to expect in interviews and how best to respond. I am impressed by his professionalism and the caring attitude he works with. Absolutely happy with an excellent service rendered by iO Associates and Craig, the senior consultant, in particular.

Unprofessional Non-Payers, Avoid Like the Plague

IO Associates placed me on a software engineer contract in early 2021. Unfortunately their client turned out to have some questionable practices and a noticeably unpleasant working environment, evident in the emotional state of their existing developers.

After a week of trying to see the positive side I decided it was best to hand in my notice, the client didn't want me to work any notice period so we left it at that.

I'd put in some solid work and a couple of late nights but the client decided they weren't going to sign off on my timesheet as they didn't want to pay IO Associates.

Contractually I was working for IO Associates (not the client) so was to invoice IO, but after six months of chasing people at all levels of the business, only to fobbed off or messed around, I still haven't been paid for the work I did.

If you're a contractor who expects to paid for days worked whatever the whims of the end client, then steer clear of IO, there are plenty of other options.

In 20 years of contracting I've never dealt with a recruitment agency as bad as this one, they are the type of agency that give the industry a bad name.
