I love the fact that I have ink whenever I need it, and I find the price very competative. I would have awarded 5 stars, but the website is full of bugs and keeps crashing when I am trying to access... See more

Just put my instant ink into the printer last night and then found out they started the free countdown over a month ago? What a con, would not buyy again

When I first signed up, the service was satisfactory. However, shortly after moving within the same area, I went without ink for over three months while monthly subscription fees continued to be deducted from my account. When I raised a complaint, I was told my printer had lost connectivity with their system, but no action was taken to resolve the issue. I paused the subscription for a period and resumed it in January, yet to this day I have not received any ink, and the charges have continued. This amounts to poor service and an unfair, potentially fraudulent practice of taking money from customers without providing the agreed service. People should be aware so as not to fall victim. I received an email on the 20/04/26 saying that my ink will be delivered but till date nothing was delivered and subscription charges deducted in April.

8 weeks ago our HP printer, which has an instant ink account, stopped working. It told us to change cartridges. We did. After 3 hours on the phone to HP we were told our printer head had gone. They offered us a printer for £150. We bought it and I set it up. But it still would not print. We spoke to a computer company whom we trust they couldn't get it to work. Long story short I asked them to collect their printer and refund. To date we are still waiting. Getting in touch with HP is like the krypton factor. Once you do they try to help but I switched the printer on and off so many times I learned the WIFI code off by heart. Their perception is that it can't possibly not work! 2 days ago we bought a canon and I set it up and it's working perfectly. I did not have to contact canon in this process. HP have ignored Emails and sent us 3 emails saying our case is closed! Think very carefully before you buy or sign up to instant ink the after sales service is poor.

These printers are so unreliable. Stop working shortly after using them. Avoid HP if you can.

Totally not worth it they charged me $400 for two months and it is a scam. Their customer service will not even discuss refund. When i realized that it was a scam i was already $400 in. i have since cancelled my subcription. Do not fall for this trap

I paid $34.95 a month for 700. I don't print that much, so I accumulated 2100 rollover pages. This created a backlog of ink cartridges on my shelf, along with 4 months of no ink deliveries. When I called to cancel, I was told the ink I had would no longer work with the printer. I paid for a service but didn't use it, and the ink I purchased under that subscription would be useless. When asking for a refund, they said they "didn't have the capability". I don't believe that at all and told so.

I've had an Instant Ink subscription for a few years. I recently had a couple of events that I was going to need to do a lot of printing. I wasn't going to be able to wait for HP to ship ink when I ran low at one of the events, so I ordered additional ink (THROUGH MY HP ACCOUNT) as back up. Because I went over my normal monthly allotment with the additional ink that I purchased in advance, HP STILL charged me an additional $54, and refused to refund the charge. So, I cancelled my subscription, and I will be shopping for a new printer so I never have to give another dime to this company.

Great Service I'm so happy about it

Absolutely disgusted! Bought an HP printer and signed up to the free instant ink trial period. The subscription service was not suitable for us so I cancelled before the end of the trial period having been sent one ink cartridge. Once I had cancelled it, the still full and functioning ink cartridge would not work without the subscription and I was forced to remove and throw away a perfectly usable full ink cartridge and replace it. The unnecessary waste and disposable of plastics and chemicals caused by this selfish, money grabbing policy is unforgivable and the environmental impact must be huge. I emailed HP twice to ask them to confirm this is their policy and they did not respond at all. I would have paid for the ink cartridge and kept it rather than throw away a perfectly usable product but this was not an option. Appalling, unethical policy and completely ignored my attempts to discuss it with them!!

After many years of using HP printers and instant ink I've finally given up and bought a printer and ink contract from a different company. Have aways liked their print quality. However too many problems with broadband connections because of instant ink contract conditions. Whereas I could always get the printer to work by removing and then reinstall I the printer, hp now expects you to cancel your instant ink contract and presumably then sign up again. In any event the printer would not connect. Also be aware that once you sign up for instant ink you cannot then use it as a standalone printer. Have recently spent about two days trying to get my hp printer to work following hp instructions. Just not worth the hassle. They also expect you to return any inks purchased through the contract and not yet used. They tell you it's some sort of rental, what a load of semantics, I have certainly paid for the cartridges I simply do not print that much. Also keeping the printer on does cost, my problem was if the printer got turned off or there was an interruption in the power supply it was a nightmare to get it connected again. Just appalling how this is legal is beyond me, certainly restricts trade for me but I understand when this has been challenged the courts have ruled in favour of hp.

Print off all our needs at any time from anywhere can’t fault it

hp says i'm not buying their cartridges, even though i paid for them. i canceled the instant ink program because i don't use the printer often enough to justify the cost. however, i didn't know i wouldn't be able to use the cartridges i'd already paid for--because they're leased, not purchased. this is a shitty con job. from now on i'll buy cartridges on amazon and pray for a dip in hp's stock price.

Site easy to use. Don't have to think about running out of ink and choice of payment plans.

IF I could give negative stars, that's more fitting for these scammers. What a joke this program is! You get charged over and over and over. When you cancel, the ink YOU PAID FOR no longer works. They cut you off. They had sent me 2 ink cartridges which I asked to return after cancelling their scam. It took almost a month to get an answer from these crooks. I wouldn't take even anything FREE from this joke of a company.

I have used hp instant ink for many years and it all works great. Usually a very reliable system. I have only had one minor problem in all the years. Obviously the main benefit is not running out of ink! If you lose your internet connection, hp are very quick to notify you. I would thoroughly recommend hp instant ink
