Great Bank!

I've been with ING for a while now and love a not so greedy bank. No ATM charges local or international, some deposits are real-time using OSKO and they're very responsive if you go to the bank branch which is not many, but I use Australian post office to deposit monies. I don't use it often so I'm not too fussed. I've got my card put on hold when I was doing multi transactions (good precautionary measures in case of scams). I've never had problems when I deposit cheque via post office, it comes within a day, new card order takes 1 wk but decided to simply use tap and go.I much prefer them than any of the 4 big banks.

Disgusting service and shouldn't even be in business

Literally the worst bank ever I've come into contact with throughout the past 20 years I find it hard to believe they're still in business - stay away like the plague!! Closes your account without notice, and despite calling them to ask why, they 'don't have an explanation' and customer service just says 'sorry but we have to close your accounts', despite banking with them with no issues for multiple years. Absolutely ridiculous and disgusting service. Someone else I know tried to bank with them recently and got locked out and marked as 'fraud' without notice, and when calling customer service they were so rude and absolutely no hint of service whatsoever. No matter how high their interest rates are or what their 'products' are, stay away, stay away, stay away!!! Give them your money and they will lock you out without notice. If you want your money back don't ever bank with these scammers.

I waited over an hour to speak with a customer service rep. The rep was lovely, but explained to me that it is impossible to register an overseas phone number to use the ING app overseas, which means that I cannot access either the app, or use contactless card payments whilst overseas. This is extremely frustrating as I have an ING account for the benefits it offers overseas...

Don’t look after their existing customers

I asked ING why don’t they offer the same home loan variable rates for new customers to existing customers and the explanation was an existing customer was more expensive to keep then gain a new customer. Was told someone would call me to explain in 2 days. Then got an email saying it would be 30days for a person to call. Was emailed to say I was misinformed and someone will call in30days not 2 days. I asked for a manager to call me and now 3 days later no response back. ING it is called customer service please call customer back and not 30 days later

12 Days to process Bank Cheque!!!!

I've been with ING for 2 years now, and until today I was very happy with them.
However, I deposited a bank cheque a week ago and it still had not cleared. Called them to find out why (45mins on hold) and was told it will take 12 days to process!!!

ING that is disgusting. Every other back processes bank cheques in 3 business days. 12 days is unacceptable. You have my money, you are already investing it and making money with it! You have no right to deny access to my money!!!

Im sure ACCC would be interested to hear about this.
I WILL be changing banks after this experience.

Do not bank with them

Do not bank with them! They are unorganised , unprofessional and unapologetic and failed to take one of my payments and tried to destroy my credit rating. They also send emails replying to my enquiry saying they will only ever call from No Caller ID, very worrying.
They also ask for account verification after ten years of being their client when you can just open a savings account with any other bank with your driver license and medicare card.
Dodgy and disgusting customer service from every single person I dealt with. Do not risk banking with them.

Tried to open a savings account

Tried to open a savings account. ING Australia took 9 days to process this. I had to call them once to validate some of my personal information. I decided to cancel my application but have never heard back (emailed their support several times) from ING. Not a huge drama but surprised to learn how little they care. Compared to ING in Europe which I have used for many years, this is surprisingly unfavourable customer service.

ING - FIRST CLASS CIRCUS CLOWNS

FIRST CLASS CIRCUS CLOWNS - STAY AWAY. Absolute pack of circus clowns who string you along for weeks on end, tell you everything is looking good then string you along some more and then whammo tell you your home loan refinance isn't approved. The reasons given contradicted the actual facts and when you enquire further you are shunned and no one responds. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MINNOW OF A CIRCUS ACT.

Do NOT get a credit card with this bank!

We have happily banked with ING for several years. However, recently we had to lodge a disputed transaction due to the company we purchased from, going into liquidation. We supplied all relevant documents and our situation was very straightforward - even so, ING have taken over THIRTY business days to sort this out, it should have been resolved by now as this is the timeframe THEY GAVE US. I submitted a complaint about the process and they have advised we'll receive a response to the complaint in THREE WEEKS. We are in absolute disbelief that something so simple can take so long, and the fact they are happy to withhold refunding customers in a cost of living crisis is insane. Once this has been resolved, my husband and I will be closing our credit card accounts and going back to NAB.

AVOID THIS BANK!!!!

AVOID THIS BANK IF YOU VALUE YOUR FUNDS!!!!!

The bank placed a block on my accounts due to attempted fraud by someone. After calling the contact centre, they advised me that they couldn't do anything, and I had to email the fraud team and wait 2-3 business days to find out what happened to my funds.

Avoid this Bank!!!

Avoid this Bank!!!! I was optimistic at first, but recent developments have me concluding that this is the worst bank ever. After calling multiple times, no resolution for my concern. Agent asked me to verify my ID because I'm not as technology savvy, I was told to go to my local police station, so they can verify it. Police said usually you have to bring some sort of form in. Police ended photocopying my license and Certifiying it. Now trying to call them if this was acceptable and I had to wait nearly an hour.

I couldn’t even join the bank

Have been attempting to create an account with ING for months now. Submitted my details and waited. A month or so later my documents were still “being reviewed”. So I called up. What I was told was basically “that’s really strange, maybe you should try cancelling and redoing it”. So I stayed positive. Glass half full. Still to this day my documents are being reviewed and not a single person has tried to contact me or fix my issues.

Ing refusing to refund $8000

Ing refusing to refund $8000, i was trying to buy a mini excavator. Did everything i thought to checkout and verify the company. But it was a scam. I altered ing the next day, i called all 3 banks involved. ANZ have the money, they put my name and phone as a reference on the scammers account and put a hold on it. All ing had to do was ring or email n get the money back. As I couldn't do it myself. But ing took 45 days to do it, by then the money was gone. Now ing refuse to give me my money back as they stuffed up. Im on a carer's pension for both my parents but ing dont care, im in financial hardship and they dont care.

When I first joined ING more than a decade ago, they were great! They had no physical presence but their 24/7 customer service was fantastic! Now, especially after COVID, it's near impossible to contact a human. Any time I tried calling, wait time would be at least 40 minutes, easily one hour. ING, remember you still don't have physical branches, you need to seriously improve your customer service phone lines!

Avoid this horrible bank like a plague!

I have been with ING for a very long time (since 2000), and have referred it to my family & friends, until this happened. Few months ago I received a message from ING about their KYC campaign and have complied accordingly yet without prior noticed they still inactivated all my accounts (transactions, savings & investment). My debit card was declined. So frustrating. I called them multiple times, no one is answering & waiting for than 39 minutes. Finally, Diego answered and assured that it will be activated in 15 minutes. 6 hours has passed still my acccount was blocked. I called again, Tenica answered after another 30 minutes but unable to help me and put me again on hold for another 41 minutes. Unbelievable service. Until now my bank account is still inactive and waiting for them to activate it. How frustrating and annoying it is that you cannot access your own money. VERY UNTRUSTWORTHY BANK. This should not exist in Australia.

Very smart bank that saves costs through not having a branch. Savings interest is slightly higher and the home loan got approved easily. Definitely need more customer service in Australia.
