Our camper had some troubles, but in the end it got the job done and we enjoyed our trip. The van had 117,000 miles on it, and it showed. It had some driveline shake at low speeds, a couple buttons mi... See more

605.32 CHF Paid. Three Days Lost. Months of Waiting. No Fair Resolution.
I have decided to continue sharing my experience because I believe other customers deserve to know what actually happened.
Indie Campers publicly claims that my case has been resolved and that I have been compensated. The compensation they refer to is:
23/01/2026: 85.86 CHF (Visa ending 1***)
20/02/2026: 85.86 CHF (Visa ending 0***)
This totals 171.72 CHF.
However, this does not reflect what actually happened.
I paid 605.32 CHF to rent a camper for 5 days. Due to a faulty vehicle and repeated mistakes made by Indie Campers' staff, I was unable to continue my trip and was effectively stranded in a parking lot for 2 full days and an additional half day (almost three days).
If you divide 605.32 CHF by the 5-day rental, the daily rental cost is 121.06 CHF. The compensation I received is only equivalent to approximately one and a half days of the rental cost, despite losing half of my holiday because of issues entirely caused by Indie Campers.
What is even more concerning is that their explanations have continuously changed.
At first, I was told that no refund would be provided, but they would refund the cost of the bedding instead. That was the explanation for the first payment of 85.86 CHF.
Later, after months of emails and phone calls, they issued another payment of 85.86 CHF.
Now, however, they are claiming that both payments were compensation for my complaint. This directly contradicts what I was originally told. A refund for bedding costs is completely different from compensation for losing almost half of a prepaid holiday.
There are also serious inconsistencies in how they handled the vehicle issue. At the campsite, their own on-site staff acknowledged that there was a problem with the camper. Despite this, their complaints team later stated that there was no problem with the vehicle and therefore no reason to compensate me. No proper investigation appears to have been carried out before reaching that conclusion.
None of this was my fault. I have emails, photographs, and evidence documenting everything that happened. Despite this, I spent months chasing updates, repeatedly being told that my case was "under review," only to receive inconsistent explanations and compensation that does not reasonably reflect the losses I experienced.
I am not asking for special treatment. I am simply asking for fair compensation for the time, money, and holiday that I lost due to mistakes made entirely by Indie Campers.
I hope future customers read this before making a booking.

I would also like to upload all of the supporting photos and evidence, but unfortunately I am currently unable to do so because the upload option is not available.
Once again, I would like to make it clear that everything I have described is factual. I spent months waiting for a proper resolution and fair compensation before deciding to write this review.
I have plenty of photos, emails, and other evidence to support my claims, and I am prepared to provide them whenever requested.
DO NOT TRUST THEM! Unresolved Fuel Refund for Weeks (Booking: EN1Z5W)
Indie Campers is completely ignoring a confirmed USD 250 fuel refund for my booking EN1Z5W.
I completed a relocation trip, provided all the required receipts and complete Canadian banking details weeks ago. Even Imoova confirmed that this should have been processed within 7–10 business days. However, Indie Campers has failed to pay and is now completely ignoring my emails.
They only respond with automated bot messages. This is an absolute scam and unprofessional behavior. Give me my money back immediately!
Easy booking, good check-in, actually have customer service humans
Easy booking, customer service actually answered and helped with a real person and no robots. Check-in was super helpful and left nothing to be questioned about pick-up day.
Do Not Rent From Indie Campers
We just rented a camper from them and from the first one being there was a 55 gal ( not even maybe a 25 gal ) then the main event was when we found weed in the cabinet above the door and ( we had our kids with us ) the other things were the ac in the back which we were not told at pickup that we had to purchase the generator would not work and we specifically told them we were going to cross country from California to Florida through the desert in 100+ degrees heat, so right now we are at we have to spend so much extra money on gas and the AC in the back we couldn’t keep it on then on the way back the ABS lights come on the engine light comes on and the road stabilizers come on so that tells me that they did not do their due diligence in between customers and make sure all the mechanics were probably tuned and made sure was ready for the next person.
Booking process clear and efficient
Booking process clear and efficient. This is the 2nd time booking with Indie Campers, definitely more to come.

Im happy it was easy and fast, nice web and a lot of options, recommended
Great experience
Disappointed
Would we book again, probably not. Whilst the depot staff were personable to deal with our extras were not on our van and only I noticed we were short bedding. Staff went to shop to purchase extra bedding, the bed itself was missing parts so we had a make shift piece of foam but it didnt work. Toilet leaked so we could use it which was discovered after usage so needed to ensure we stayed at camp sites with facilities. We raised these issues before departure as dropped van back a day early due to issues but no response.
On a side note location is 40 min from airport so appeox €70 taxi and whilst only a 5 min drive from train station there was no transfer provided even after we asked could we be dropped back to train station. It would have been nice to be dropped off given it was a 30 min walk in heat with kids and luggage.
