The booking process was fast and efficient. The consultant was great and extremely friendly The deal itself was great, but as with most things these days it's the things you have to add on that increase the price. I would use them again that's for sure.

Missed opportunity
Gaby was very good with our final conversation, but she did call me on Tuesday June 2, regarding the cruise I did choose to buy. Our conversation wasn’t long as I was waiting for an appointment and I felt I wasn’t able to speak freely. She offered to call me back 2 days later on the Thursday. I was very keen with that call outcome. Unfortunately, Gaby didn’t call me back as agreed, so I missed my first choice of cabin. We caught up again the next week and I was told that there were no Oceanview cabins left for that cruise. I have committed to a balcony stateroom at much more cost. Imagine Cruising arranged our Norway…
Imagine Cruising arranged our Norway Northern Lights tour but didn’t have any contact with Hurtigruten which was the shipping company. They didn’t even know who their own tour guide was so when we had any crisis we were left destitute as IC merely claimed that there was nothing they could do. We only had a guide for about 6 of the 21 days. The rest of the time we had to fend for ourselves.
I managed to send emails but nothing was resolved. My husband and I ended up being booked in an ‘unspecified cabin’ which had 2 single beds and one bunk bed after expressly asking for a double bed room with an obstructed view.
The worst neglect on their part was refusing to rebook a train ticket to Flam for my husband whose flight had been been delayed. They waited till the last minute to come back to us to say they were not prepared to use the refunded ticket money to buy a ticket. I ended up having to pay over $200 at the last minute.
The cruise itself was also problematic in that excursions were extremely expensive and many were cancelled due to weather etc and those who had booked excursions before the cruise could only get a credit and no refund. The trip back from Kirkenis was very boring as we hardly had a chance to get off the ship. There was very little onboard entertainment.
There were also only 2 sitting sessions for dinner and we were placed in the 7 30pm session every night which meant we only started eating after 8pm.
Hurtigruten staff at reception had quite a few apprentices which I think is great but they needed to have someone experienced with them all the time. We had to go everyday to ask for a room swap only to find out after a week that they would not consider moving us unless we paid more money for the same standard of cabin with a double
Our tour guide, Ellen, on land was lovely but there was no way she could contact us all. I literally stumbled across her in reception at the hotel in Oslo. Why could she not have had a WhatsApp group of all our contact details. She really struggled to keep at least 20 people informed. She also tried really hard to arrange a train ticket for my husband but she only got a ‘no’ at the last minute.
Would I recommend this trip to others? Oslo, Bergen and Copenhagen were lovely but the rest of the trip certainly didn’t meet our expectations. So I would not recommend this tour.

Exceptional Customer Service
Our Imagine Cruising holiday is just 9 weeks away, with flights originally scheduled from Brisbane via Doha to Madrid. Given the current situation in the Middle East, like many travellers, I reached out to explore alternative options.
I want to give a huge shoutout to Bek, who went above and beyond to rearrange our flights from Qatar Airways to British Airways—completely avoiding the Middle East and at no extra cost. The turnaround was incredible: a resolution within 36 hours of my enquiry, and updated documentation just 12 hours after I accepted the change.
I can only imagine how busy the team must be right now, managing so many enquiries as travellers navigate their upcoming holidays.
This is our second trip with Imagine Cruising, and it’s often when things don’t go to plan that you truly see how good a company is. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would.
