Horrible experience

Horrible experience.

1. They shipped my items via Fedex. For some reason they split my order in to multiple fedex shipments. One shipment of 5 boxes and 1 shipment with 1 box.

2. The same day I got the shipment of 5 boxes, Fedex emailed saying the other shipment with a second tracking number was un-deliverable and the item was being returned to sender. Same Ikea order, Same address, same day that I was home all day.

3. I email Ikea and it takes them over 8 days to respond. Then I have to send them around 10 pictures of all of the items I did get so they could try and figure out what item out of 5 I was missing,

4. I was missing a part of a desk I ordered, but did get 2 other boxes with parts for the desk.

5. They said they would ship it and a fedex tracking would be coming in a few days.

6. I wait like 8 days, never get the tracking number and email them again.

7. They now say the part is out of stock and they can refund me for the missing part. Not a refund for the whole desk, apparently they can determine the cost of each part, even though I ordered just 1 desk as a single item on the website.

8. So now I have a desk I never would have order had I know it was not going to be delivered complete and this has been going on for a month.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM ONLINE!!!!!

Based on the other reviews, I doubt I will ever get the refund credited to my card.

Damanged product delivered. Terrible customer service. No response via any channels for return and refund. Waste of money.

I wish there is a way to give 0 or -ve stars.

Ordered following items from Ikea Mexico - BILLY bookcs 80x28x202 brown walnut effect - 1 no., OXBERG panel/gls dr 40x192 brown walnut effect - 2 nos.

Items were delivered on time by Fedex however they were in a terrible state, almost all pieces expect one of the panels were damaged, the other panel was not just damaged but almost broken into 2 halves.

After several attempts to contact Ikea Mexico customer service via mails and phone calls, someone finally answered the call. They created a case and a Fedex shipment order to return the products, pick up was from our home address near Guadalajara, destination Barrio San Juan Cuautitlan. However no one from Fedex came to pick them up. When called, Fedex said there is no pick up service for domestic shipments across Mexico.

I have been trying to reach Ikea customer service again now for 10 days to no end. The products are not in a usable state so they are just lying in my living room in their packages, occupying space.

I'm ready to bring the packages to Ikea Guadalajara but don't know whether the store will accept them even though it was at this store they created the original order for me and I paid there. There is no way to confirm.

If Ikea is reading this post, you have to improve your customer experience.

For anyone who is planning to order large items from Ikea online, beware of the potential mishandling of products either at the warehouse or by the carrier. I know minor mishandling accidents cannot be avoided but I have ordered several such large items from other big stores in Mexico, those were all delivered in good condition with maybe torn package sometimes but no damage to the product.

And finally, note that refund claim cannot be processed until after the products are sent back to the warehouse. If Ikea is unreachable like this, refund may never happen.

WORST experience in online shopping - NO COSTUMER SERVICE or attention at all, NO refund

There´s no lower option than 1star, if there was i´d give it to Ikea Mexico!
Worst experience ever: I bought a lamp online, together with the specific bulbs which was impossible to assemble, because a screw was already in place, with no possibility to remove it.
I ordered the refund the same day (22.10.24).
On the phone they told me that it was my mistake, that Ikea is not responsible for buyers when assembling the goods. I had to send photos and videos to be able to check the case.
I had to do it two times, because they did not forward the videos for evaluation.
Costumer service again told me without seeing the videos, they were not going to send me a replacement because ‘this is how the lamp comes" and i did something worng, because the lamp works just the way they send it.
In another call they explained to me -as if I were a little girl- how to remove the screw, put the rod in and put the screw back in. Seriously?!
In total I made ELEVEN calls to Ikea Mexico customer service, and in each call I went through 45 minutes of waiting and searching for the case, because not once they did any follow up to my calls!
Each time I explained exactly the same, not even notes were taken.
By january I was assured that the return was authorised, I was promised a call the next day (first time they offered action from their side). Nothing.
One more call finally confirms that the money has been sent two weeks ago (they forgot to comunicate that to me?!).
Later on I received an email with the internal notice of the refund - only the price of the lamp, not the shipping or the bulbs, which I also returned.
$399 mexican pesos!
And that modest amount never even reached my account.
I checked with the bank, they didn't hold it, IKEA just kept the goods and the money and closed the case.
Not even lousy the service - there is no service at all! No one followed up, no calls were returned, no emails answered, no lamp, no bulbs and the money never arrived back on my account.

I would advise anyone to shop elsewhere.
Ikea Mexico does not deserve our purchase, money, time and energy!
IKEA en other countries has excelent service - not Ikea Mexico.

IKEA Mexico is NOT like IKEA in other countries, AVOID: Defective Products, Nonexistent Customer Service

My experience with IKEA Mexico has been, without a doubt, the worst I’ve had with any store in Mexico.

I ordered a desk online that cost over MXN 7,000, and one of the pieces arrived defective.

When I reached out to them to request a replacement part, they gave me a series of excuses and the customer service was terrible. They told me they didn’t have the part in stock, which was a lie since the desk was still available on their website (I even sent them the link to prove it). Despite this, they refused to send the replacement. Their excuse was that the link showed the full desk was available, and even though they admitted they had both the desk and the part in their warehouse, they couldn’t send the part separately.

When I asked them to pick up the entire desk for a full refund or replacement, they demanded that I disassemble the desk and repackage it like new (and send them photos to prove the other parts were in their original condition). This is completely ridiculous, considering it’s almost impossible to repackage the furniture, especially since the boxes tear easily when opened.

In the end, I was stuck with a broken desk, and IKEA’s customer service couldn’t have cared less. They washed their hands of the responsibility for sending me a defective product. They didn’t offer any real solution, other than a “refund” of MXN 599 (~ USD 28) for the defective part, which feels like an insult in this situation.

It’s unbelievable that a company like IKEA, known for good service in other countries, would treat their customers in Mexico this way. If you value your time and money, I highly recommend avoiding IKEA Mexico. The service is awful, and it’s clear they don’t care about their customers’ satisfaction.
